A arrived at the motel around 8:30 pm after driving in from Amboy where I hiked the crater. I was tired and hangry, I’ll admit. Upon arrival the lobby/office was closed. I had to drive down the street to register at a sister property. Afterwards, I quickly dropped off my things in my room and headed down Fremont Street to find something eat. I returned at approximately 10:30. In my haste for food I neglected to notice that the bed had no top sheet and there were no towels. I realize this is NOT the hotel with the dancing fountains, or volcano, or pirate ship, or kitschy Roman decor, but I do expect appropriate bed linens and towels for $134/night. I also expect to have a manager on-site to address my issues on that rare occasion that I find myself with an issue. This is not the case at Desert Hills. The next morning, I went to the sister motel to check-out and report the lack of basic, minimal hotel amenities. The day manager was on her out the door to go somewhere, probably to get out of dodge before other dissatisfied guests came to check-out. Fortunately, I was spared the indignity of being pushed off to the key drop as a resident showed up at the same time I did. I took the chance to point out that my room lacked bed linens and towels. Her response was a very disinterested “I’ll let them know.” My total history of writing reviews is pretty slim—4 in total, perhaps 5 at most. My stay at the Desert Hills inspired me to write again. This ordeal was by far the worst experience at a place of lodging that I’ve ever had. In fact, stayed at a one-star hotel in Phuket that was better managed with a staff genuinely interested in customer service. The standard in this instance in Las Vegas was below that of a Third World sub-budget establishment. In conclusion, please be advised that you should always peruse a hotel’s reviews before booking your room. Otherwise, you may find yourself writing a review.
What can you expect for the price, you get what you pay for. Staff was friendly and attentive.
We were put into a room next to a couple who was already staying there, and they had a new born baby that literally cried, screamed! all night. The attendant leaves the property at 6pm so there is no one to complain to. Needless to stay our trip was cut short because I was on no sleep.
The decor inside the room.. The theme was different but cool. Also.updated electrical outlets for personal use was nice. The bed was comfortable, room clean and roomy. Quiet no one bothered us. We were impressed.
Outside appearance. But dont judge by what you see outside. They are currently remodeling. People sitting outside by doors wasnt sure what to expect because of the neighborhood but again dont judge what looks from outside is not as appears. They are friendly And updating and its worth the stay.
They cancelled the room, I had to book another one, they mention Booking cancelled it, but that didn’t happen ever before with the app
