As a Carpenter, I found the hotel authentic. It was built in 1932 and slightly modernized but still has that old Vegas feel. Front desk was OUTSTANDING! As far as location, it is RIGHT ON FREMONT. I had no problem in my room with the noise. The room was very small, bed was small, Nora lot of space. When we checked in they gave us a key to a dirty room with bags on the floor and an unmade bed that stunk.
