Las Palmas de Gran Canaria hotels near Avenida José Mesa y López

Pros: had to leave the hotel after 3 days,it was closing down

Pros: The spacious "junior suite" with separate seating area, large bathroom with separate toilet/bidet and shower, large balcony, impressive communal areas, decorated conference rooms and courtyards, roof-top pool with views over city, setting in beautiful Park Doramas, helpful reception staff. Excellent choice and quality for breakfasts in attractive restaurant with large terrace. The hotel is relatively accessible to all parts of the island, the scenery and traditional towns in the north and centre and beaches in the south, but Las Palmas is often noticeably cooler and cloudier than other areas, particularly the south.

Cons: We booked half-board but this proved very restricted, only operating in the bar-restaurant with limited menu choice for the evening meal, limited indoor seating for couples on high stools (too cold to eat outside), and poor waiter service. We could have used a more expensive restaurant on site, but that involved paying an additional supplement of I think 50 euros per head per evening. The reception staff offered us the bar-restaurant's à la carte menu but that was also limited and uncomfortable seating/poor service/poor value for money remained a problem so we switched to bed and breakfast and found an excellent restaurant on the marina with much better choice and service at a lower price. You need to take great care to put all money and valuables in your room safe at all times. Although normally very careful, I accidentally left 300 euros in our room 329 and it disappeared i.e. must have been taken by someone servicing the room. I hesitated to report it since I expected to be told the hotel wasn't liable and didn't want to sour relations with the staff, particularly since we had made a fuss about the half board. When I got home, I decided I had to notify them so they could possibly prevent future guests from being robbed. I have been very disappointed by only receiving a belated response which completely fails to address this particular issue. I can only think that if the hotel has to close and lay off staff because of the coronavirus, someone who may have children will have an extra 300 euros to look after them!!

Pros: The hotel was exceptional, the grounds, the welcome, the room, the rooftopbar, the pool. Excellent service by the staff altogether.

Cons: The costs of parking your car as a hotel visitor were quite high.

Pros: Fantastic hotel and professional staff. Lovely atmosphere. Great breakfast. Nice swimming pool. The hotel includes nice restaurants and terras outside. Great cocktails. Staff was very friendly with small children.

Cons: No disappointments whatsoever.

Pros: Architecture of hotel is very good. History of hotel goes back to 1890 with many famous people having stayed there.

Cons: I thought breakfast was overpriced at €25.

Pros: The room and the bed were lovely and comfortable.

Cons: Through no fault of the hotel we were on lockdown and were not able to use the facilities or the restaurant.

Pros: Large clean rooms. Good bed, shower and breakfast. Nice pool aerea.

Cons: The breakfastbuffet had no signs to reed what kind of food they offered or what allergenes they contained. Very hard with foodallergies, none of the staff spoke enough english to help out, but they did manage to everually get staff to help. In the room there is separate bath and toilet, but no handwash in the toilet.

Pros: Beautiful view!! Really nice and complete breakfast, Room clean and nice.

Cons: Swimming pool time should be improved so people Can use it even in Night time

Pros: The cleanliness in the room was exceptional. The bedding was changed every day. The upper floors had a excellent view over the sea. The hotel was situated in an excellent position with so many Bars and Restaurants near by. Wonderful Hotel I would certainly stay at this Hotel next time.

Pros: Wonderful to stay if You want to be near Las Canteras beach and beach arcade. Good bathroom. Enough space in the rooms. If You are there during the Las Palmas carnival time, You have a excellent view over the parade from the rooms at town side of the hotel.

Cons: The breakfast could be better, it's not 5 star level. Better reading lights both at the beds and the tables.

Pros: Friendly and helpful staff (reception, breakfast, cleaners), good rooms (clean and well-kept), great breakfast

Pros: Very good position. The beach is at 20m and is excelent. During low tide there are almost no waves even if the wind is strong. Additionaly, you are IN the city, close to an intercity bus station, restaturants, shops, etc.

Cons: Room equipment in most part aged. Very hard mattress. Toilet separate from the bathroom (and sink).

Pros: the location of the hotel is fantastic, it sits right on the beach and is near to all the shops, and bus routes

Pros: The hotel was very clean and modern and was very close to both beach and shopping area.

Cons: The room we stayed in for the first two nights was very noisy but when we asked to be changed got a very nice room on tenth floor. The beds were very very uncomfortable....it was like lyning on a board. I also thought it was very commercial and not geared to holiday makers.
