This place was amazing. Extremely attentive staff. Excellent dinner. Perfect location along the water with a great view. I spilled coffee on my white shorts and the staff rushed to clean it for me less than an hour before we were leaving. Really went above and beyond.
Nothing. Sad to leave.
Some markings on the wall/furniture. Cobwebs in the alcove.
Location is great, Onsen is nice, staff were very nice.
Breakfast was disappointing. Didn't feel it was worth the money.
As previous reviews stated the property was very clean and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was good but not great, and I think on balance if we were staying again we might have chosen not to eat in the venue every evening. The location was good; however it was not especially private as our outdoor bath was in full view of the main road outside (with minimalist blinds which we had to keep down the whole time, thus obscuring our view of the small garden)
We did not have a bad experience but unfortunately our stay at the property was nevertheless not good value for money. I appreciate that traditional Japanese ryokans are expensive and do not offer the same amenities as you might expect in a luxury or western style hotel. However, given what we got I felt that the prices charged were simply astronomical - we paid more than for our suite at Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong for the privilege of sleeping on a thin mattress on the floor in a tiny room. I would add that the staff were friendly and helpful and the room was certainly clean, but for US$1,000+ per night I would say that this is the minimum I would expect.
Quiet, clean and friendly staff.
Please see my comments above and in addition the outdoor onsen tub is old and the shade is slightly broken. Definitely not value for money!
