Good central location, in the centre in minutes.Quirky and comfortable. Ki
The atmosphere and oldfashioned style were impeccable. Very clean and friendly.
Breakfast, too simple and commercially wrapped up. But I could also have a very good coffee and breakfast outside around the corner at a typical coffeeshop. I will come back to this cosy hotel in any case.
Easy check-in, great location, convenient parking. We were only staying overnight immediately prior to flying home early the following morning and wanted a location that was relatively close to the airport - only a 15 minute drive - so only need an overnight bolt-hole, for which it was perfectly adequate. I cannot comment on breakfast as we had to leave before it was served. The host was very efficient and helpful, guiding us to local restaurants etc.
Lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room - however we've found that this is quite normal in Austria and Germany.
The staff could not make 1 cooked egg for our 2.5 old daughter and 1 egg 4 minutes cooked. It had to be either or not. Somewhat not friendly but it was ok. But i expected more from my experiences staying in other Austrian hotels. Cappucino was very weak. Only milkfoam and shot of weak espresso. Dont expect a second coffee for breakfast. There were only 2 croissant at the breakfast Buffet even though we were not the only guest staying that day.
other than that it was great
in booking said we could check in at 13:00, but we were turned away from reception at 13:00 and told to come back at 14:00. With a 2 year old child after 6 hour drive quite unpleasant
The Cityhotel Ratheiser is a stylish and traditional hotel in the centre of Klagenfurt, only a few minutes’ walk from the major sights. The listed building was constructed in 1760. The 2 stone lions at the entrance are silent witnesses of the past, once being part of the eastern gate of Carinthia’s capital. The charming Cityhotel Ratheiser offers a rich breakfast buffet, an exclusive tea parlour, a well-stocked wine cellar and the “Venus sauna island”. An internet terminal is available at the reception.
