Very good hospitality
Gorgeous place, quiet and pleasant. Welcoming host and nice menu at « table d’hote »
2 dogs left free (very kind animal but I am phobic, this should be mentioned in description)
Very interesting building; the host (Eric) was clearly passionate about its history and upkeep. The interior decorative and furnishing theme in the public area and our room was consistently medieval (though happily this did not extend to the ensuite shower room which was modern and well equipped). We even had the Black Knight in full armour standing in a corner of our room.
Our room was quite dark and could have done with a brighter bulb in the central light. A couple of comfortable chairs would have been welcome, especially if staying more than one night (the knights of old clearly didn't expect to sit around reading kindles of an evening!) We had to travel into Issoire (7km) for an evening meal, but though we found plenty bars we had some difficulty finding a restaurant.
Original. Property off the beaten track. Quiet. The owner was most helpful & friendly.
The property was quirky and our host Eric gave us an enthusiastic welcome. The room was a good size and cool in the summer heat even without an air conditioner.
No desk to do paperwork or kettle to make hot drinks. Pool was smaller than it looked in the photos.
