The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was a nice size, clean and fresh and had a nice view of the neighborhood and night sky. They have a nice sento that you can use for free if you're staying there. Free espresso and coffee in the lounge was nice and a free airport shuttle made it very convenient. I will definitely stay there again and have already recommended it to a friend. Oh, and a Family Mart across the street!
I was pleased with it, I don't have any suggestions.
Convenient location, close-ish to the bus station and ferry terminal. The room was reasonably spacious and had two extra comfortable chairs. They did fill the room up quite a bit, so not everyone may appreciate the extra furniture. The airconditioning and electricity was able to remain working even when I left the room - the hotel had provided a card that could be placed in the card holder permanently, which would normally cut power to the room. Speaking of which - the room is accessed by keycard, so no fiddling about with a physical key. The hotel is in a quiet neighbourhood, and still, there's a convenience store right across the street. It's a street that's quiet enough to be safely crossed at any place. Also, free pakring that doesn't require reservation.
I was in the secondary building. This means a trip to the bath house requires a bit through the rain and I couldn't get there just on my socks. There are free to borrow umbrellas, but they are on the other side! Same problem for the breakfast restaurant. The whole place felt a bit run-down - as if it was a super modern hotel back in the 90's. Nothing was broken or anything, but it felt like it could at any moment. The bed was really quite hard. Not too hard for me, but too hard for those who are used to European matresses. The room is not cleaned every morning by default - this has to be requested *the day before* which makes it easy to forget (which I suspect they capitalize on). They say it's to no disturb the guests; I think we all know it's just a crappy way to save money. The public bath is not what you'd expect from a hotel that calls itself "Grantia". It is two small tiled baths with zero atmosphere. I've seen other Grantia hotels with a full onsen experience, but this is not one of those. All in all, this hotel is effectively too expensive for what it is.
Amazing sunset view... very helpful reception staff..
insufficient car parks.
