pool assignments during renovations and policing of property
Nothing. Literally, this place steals your money and just treat you as a person who is going to keep them in business. Miserable.
Everything. This is not a hotel that should be associated with Marriott. I never used Marriott after this experience.
the location is great
When booking I stated there will be 4 of us sharing the room but upon arrival they charged us more and insisted it was the fault of who ever we booked it through.
Clean rooms and great location, nice staff and daily offerings of activities.
in need of a slight remodel for the rooms.
Expected better view from upgraded room
Excellent location, facilities and value. Great service.
Ok - but just okay
- proximity to beach - known hotel chain
- based on the positive reviews and high price, I thought this would be better; - first time to Honolulu - I thought the location would be better; - move on - there's lots of better choices
All of it
Staff was not very friendly
Closeness to the beach
When we arrived to our room, the city view was a view of the parking garage, actual a parked car was about 3 feet from our window. It was NOT a city view which I booked. When we called the front desk, we were advised they were completely booked and had no rooms available elsewhere. (We looked online and it did indicate there were rooms available for the night in a better location.) We were told we would be upgraded to a partial ocean view, but not until the next night. Also, there is an additional $30 charge per night for staying at that location, we were not advised of that until we were checking in. We also had to pay an additional $47 per day for valet parking which we also were not advised of until we checked in. The rooms are run down and carpets are old. In the high traffic areas the carpet had creases in spots, enough to cause us to trip. We had a negative encounter with one of your valets, we lost the valet ticket that was on the key, when we returned, they made a big deal of it, told us that we should have kept it on the key ring. Not good customer service especially after charging $47 per day!!!. This is a Marriott Resort and we booked it because of the name and our expectations were not even remotely met... Marriott should evaluate this location, both the desperate need of renovation and some of the customer service. If it's not going to be renovated soon, then charging appropriate hotel/motel rates and advertise appropriately.
Nice location and only steps to beach!! Lots of activities and shops.
Bathroom was not properly cleaned on arrival. :(
I liked that it was in the center of all the action and right by the beach
The Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa sits right next door to the Diamond Head Crater. With over 5 acres of beachfront property, this location gives guests a beautiful backdrop for an amazing Hawaiian vacation.
None of the 1,310 rooms in this resort has a bad view. There are ocean views, city views, and Diamond Head Crater views. The rooms are split between two tall towers that are right on the coast of Oahu. Rooms have lanais that are private and great for sitting out on to enjoy the beach breeze. Guests can choose to book a junior suite for a little more space. The beds have pillow top mattresses for added comfort and there are fridges in the rooms. The hotel is decorated in island designs so guests can feel the tropical lifestyle all the time.
The Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa offers room service. There is a buffet breakfast served every morning for a fee. Dinner and drinks can be had at Kuhio Beach Grill. There is a whiskey and bourbon lounge that is the only one of its kind in the neighborhood. Moana Terrace is a restaurant by the pool that serves American food. There is entertainment there on a nightly basis. Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar is another option in the hotel, along with d.k. Steak House, Arancino di Mare, and Starbucks for coffee and light fare.
Guests can visit Pearl Harbor nearby. There are beaches everywhere. The resort has a full spa where treatments can be booked. There’s a fitness center and the pool for staying active or laying out. Waikiki has plenty of other attractions for travelers to spend their time visiting to make for a perfect vacation.
The Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa is a part of Honolulu and is located on the most popular beach in the district. Every room has a spectacular view and the comforts needed for an unforgettable vacation.
