I rented a car, when I got there after signing papers , the informed me they were giving me a Nissan work truck. The out side of the truck was terrible. Scratches, dings, dents, paint stains, over all it was dirty and a mess. The inside was somewhat clean. Most everything worked. Could not secure vehicle, the cab sliding window in rear, was broken and no latch. Key fob had a bad battery. Had to use key to lock doors, FOB gave me trouble starting vehicle. Only had less then half tank of gas. It was a one way trip with a drop off. I don't know why they wouldn't give me the car I rented. I rented a car because my wife had fallen at the airport and did located her shoulder a d suffered a fracture. We spent the day before in the hospital, where the had to sedate her to get her arm back in place. She was bound up to keep her arm in place and was on mild medication. She was very uncomfortable on the ride home. Stiff riding suspension. I don't know if I would rent from Hertz again. Depends on your response.Reviewed Nov 12 2021

Pros:The mini van ran well and had enough comfortable seating!Cons:I would really appreciate some compensation as the Pacifica Minivan we rented and prepaid in full way in advance was absolutely FILTHY and terribly dirty inside and out! During this time of Covid and since you advertise Hertz is abiding by Covid cleaning protocols this was just the opposite! The car was so dirty we had to go have it vacuumed and wipe down with Lysol wipes and picked up amount of dirty cups and trash! The exterior was also filthy and we couldn’t even see out of the windshield with all the bugs so we had to pay to go have a car wash done! We prepaid for this vehicle way in advance and this should not have been the case when we were rushing to leave for our trip! We were extremely disappointed and would like some compensation! Cons:The employees that I dealt with where very friendly and helpful. They made sure the vehicle was clean, had a full tank of fuel and pointed out all the minor issues with the car so we would not be blamed for these things.Reviewed Mar 4 2021

Pros:They wouldn’t answer the phone, then said the day of the rental that they “couldn’t guarantee” they would have the car I booked weeks ago. They said to call back later in the day to check. When I called back no one answered. I rented last minute from a competitor and had to spend extra money.Cons:Literally everything.Reviewed May 29 2020

Pros:The staff in Metairie LA was wonderful. Precious helped us fix some problems that we had with KAYAK and made sure our vacation went off without a hitch! Can't say enough good things about them.Cons:When I realized that there was a problem with my reservation KAYAK no one at KAYAK would even try to help me. I was very disappointed with them and frustrated that this would impact our vacation. The local office of Hertz in Metairie LA took care of all of it for me and I am very grateful to them. Cons:I rented a car throw interned one price, after in the office is another, you add too many things were not in the beginning contract, i rented 5 days online the price was 125, at the office 199,,,,, its not serious............ next time i'll cancel my booking, for this reason........Reviewed Jan 29 2017

Pros:The girl who checked me out through my rental was very helpful and patient. I ended up getting a Beetle instead of a smaller 4-door and absolutely loved it for my 16 hour drive.Cons:The cars on Kayak are not necessarily available at this location, but they give you an option to exchange your vehicle at the airport if you were hoping for something bigger.Reviewed Nov 26 2016
