Absolutely horrible. Multiple reservations made and canceled claiming cars were available when they actually weren't. Rude staff. Anonymous after-hours text canceled my reservation on short notice, then refused to refund my pre-paid amount. Had to spend several hours on phone grttinga refund. Will NEVER rent from them again. The reservation was made, I paid the money, I arrived early before my pick up time and they had NO CAR. This was a horrible experience and I was stuck with no car. I still have not received my refund from Hertz! I called them and they required me to submit a form which I did, and I’m still waiting. I will never do this again.Reviewed Jul 27 2026

My experience was not good. Despite calling the afternoon of my pickup date to confirm that my car would be held and ready for pickup, when I arrived in Sarasota, there was not even an agent at the desk. Then when I finally was able to work with an agent, they did not have the car I rented. They had the option of a huge truck or a tiny car. This was not conducive to the activities of our trip, but I didn’t have the option of waiting or coming back a different day. Thankfully at least I got a car as there were over 10 people behind me and there were only 2 cars left to rent so other people didn’t even get a car. But because I got a huge truck the expense of gas was outrageous and parking was impossible.Reviewed Jul 24 2026

I booked a hybrid car. They gave me an suv saying it was an upgrade. It’s not an upgrade when you want a hybrid. It’s a downgrade. I probably spent an extra $50 on gas. Going to reach out to Hertz corporate about it.Reviewed Jul 24 2026
