Lady that checked us in is so nice. She let us have same room we stayed in before.
I’m allergic to cats. Cat was laying on bed when we went to our room
I got a room with private bath. The clawfoot tub isn't stable. There was hair on the floor. Location has a lot of outside noise during the weekend.
Kitchen is nice!!! Staff is friendly... And a cool "community cat"
just so out dated and the shared bathroom was awful as well as the toilet! It's very European hostel
The location is the only thing I liked about this place. It’s more like a hostel than a hotel. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!!!!!!!
It was advertised to have air conditioning but it didn’t. It was over 100 degrees while we were there. They put two fans in the room & one of them barely blew any air. They said the vents were stuck but they were working on that. They never did. This is a bare bones place. They didn’t have any cups for rinsing your mouth after brushing your teeth, not even plastic ones, no tissues & the toilet paper couldn’t have been any cheaper. The so called patio for guests looked like it was someones personal living space with a little kid running around, towels on the chairs, stuff scattered on the patio table & a plastic kiddie pool on the patio. The place also needs a lot of work done. When we were walking down the hall to our room we were told “This is a cannabis friendly place.” My friend & I looked at each other like “WHAT!” So right off the bat we were not impressed. I don’t care what other people do but I don’t like being around cigarette smoke let alone the nasty smell of pot. This is not advertised AT ALL on booking.com! If we had known this we never would have stayed there! The place looks nothing like the pictures I saw on booking.com. The couch in the community room had an ugly unappealing couch cover on it with a cat laying all over it. Good thing I’m not allergic to cats but I’m not a cat person. I also don’t like sitting on something with animal hair all over it & then having it on my clothes. The beds in the room were horrible with a big bump in the middle. If you laid to far on the side of the bed it rolled you off the bed. I have stayed in many historical hotels before and they were all amazing but not this one. I don’t even think this should be listed as a hotel. It is DEFINITELY more like a hostel. When we were at a winery & told some of the locals where we were staying they said “ Oh no not there. That’s a hostel. That place is awful.” We found out the hard way.
Friendly staff, great location, and the decor is full of "old world charm."
I'm an incredibly unfussy traveller so was willing to overlook the stains on the quilt and the dust and hair in the bathroom that suggested the room had not been cleaned in a while. But the bugs visibly crawling over the pillow were more than I can handle - I did not sleep in the bed. I'm afraid, despite very friendly staff and the truly charming historic style, I would not stay here again and don't recommend that anyone else does, either.
