Cons: The pool in the heritage section was closed for our entire stay. However the pool at the victory wing was pleasant and not too far to walk. The gym in the heritage section has little in the way of cardio equipment but again, there is a full range in the gym in the other section.

Cons: Check-in process was a little slow and too rigid...if rooms available, should allow guests to go in....heard all who came a early to come back at 3pm. Cannot believe that a hotel with over 200+ rooms does not have any rooms and cannot allow early check-in when it was already past 2pm. I myself had to wait until almostc330pm because my category of room not ready. Perhaps because the hotel sends you an email prior check-in to ask if guest wants to pay extra for early check-in with rates differing base timing and likewise after check-in to ask if want to pay for late check-out.....Do not quite like this revenue seeking style.

Pros: This is the third time I've stayed at this hotel with my family. I booked a room with two single beds. Ideal for me with my wife and two young children. We were given a room overlooking the sea on the sixth floor. Once inside the room, we were given some apples and can drinks (soya milk). Breakfast at the hotel is also quite good with a variety of menu. Overall, I was very pleased with this hotel. Last time I stayed here, I had a buffet dinner at Cafe Laurel. It is very interesting with a variety of food. You should try it too. Parking valets here are only as low as RM 10.00 or RM 18.00 if you want to park right in front of the hotel entrance. However, the hotel also has basement parking provided free of charge to hotel guests.

Cons: When there is week end special private functions in the hotel, the non hotel guest will occupied the car parking. The result is no parking lot for the hotel guest after returned from dinner outside. The security arranged the basement staff car park with very dim light and unsafe parking area which is totally unacceptable. The reception call to the hotel guest room early in the morning before 7am without the permission of morning call and disturbing the sleeping of the hotel guest.

Pros: Very nice hotel, good location, clean with great facilities and amazing decor. Entrance is grand and looks stunning. My standard twin room was small but good enough for me. Clean room and clean bathroom. Good tv and room service is good. Bed was very comfortable if you like a hard-ish bed. Air con was quiet and easy to adjust. Tea, coffee kettle in the room with water provided with small mini fridge. Nice comfortable room. I enjoyed my stay there. Staff, door staff are friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast has a fantastic spread of food and well worth taking.

Cons: Room is a bit dated compared to the grand entrance to the hotel. The shower is over the bath and set at an awkward angle.. if you are tall or on the larger side then you will find it a problem. The price!!.....it is to high I would say compared to other hotels and apartments thats available in the area. Reduce the cost by £15 then it would be perfect.

It has 2 TVs, one in the room and one in the living hall which is great coz me and my friend get to watch the program we each wanted.
There's jacuzzi in the room, shower stall and the toilet is separated too. There's also another toilet near the door entrance of the room so..again there's no need to wait for the use of toilet incase both are in need to use the toilet.
The receptionist & staffs are all very friendly so my stay with them are pretty pleasant. Request for high floor, near lift and non smoking room were all met and the room given was seaview which was really nice.

Cons: A slight hiccup with the booking as their record seems to have captured a wrong rate i paid, fortunately i had printed the payment page together with the booking confirmation for reference so they did not detain me too long on the issue. ( seems the record in their system reflects that i only paid 2 nights instead of 3)
Inconvenience with the parking as we have to get the ticket endorsed everytime before we exit and should we return after midnight, we'll have to get the ticket from the reception before we can exit the carpark the next day.
It's just a small matter but I'm kinda fussy about it.... the blanket is really not very presentable. It looks a little worn & old, and it looks like the inner layer of my blanket back home. ( the kind where the blanket inner layer can be taken out for dry cleaning from the outer cover/casing)

Cons: I'm not the fussy type but still found that cleanliness is just short of acceptable. The room is a tad old & had a smoky, odd smell. Bedlinen had yellowish & dirt marks on them. Toilet is clean but can be better.

Cons: The incredible low level staffing. Only 1 person at front knows what he is doing. Rest was terribly slow and even challenge customers who wants to check out, waiting there but put aside to attend to another who just joined queue. When I told her (Indian lady on duty on 6th Sun morning) that I was already waiting there for quite a while. She glared at me then took my 2 rooms checkout and told me curtly that the checkout is done without any paperwork.... Omg... First time I see such rudeness in all my years of travel and staying in hotel. NOT TO mention there was only 2 out of 3 lifts working. Breakfast was a disaster as food, cups were insufficient. And 2 waiter and waitress told me no toothpicks available. Coffee was horrible.

Cons: the bed sheet got stain, more like a rust stain and i understand that this hotel is more like a hostel concept however cleanliness should be your priority as the floor has a lot of human hair.. not being swipe and my most concern is the shower n toilet door which is almost transparent..i mean if u can do something to cover the door it would be much appreciated especially ladies guest must be concern about this. overall stay is fine.. staff is good and friendly.. answer my question with smile.. thank u

Cons: The room was too basic. The overall price, to which a tourism tax, service tax, and heritage fee were added, could have got me a better room not that far from the hotel. The room didn't have a bottle of water to drink or any sugar or complementary coffee. No refrigerator, no safe, no chair...etc. The bathroom, ironing board, and kettle were all shared. It felt like a small room with no added value whatsoever. The TV channels were good but fuzzy. The bathroom was also too small and was basically a shower head not more than 30 cm away from the toilet seat. The whole hotel, although looks like an old building, had no sense of coziness or heritage. There was no one sitting around chatting, no old photos of the city hanged, no decoration at all... There wasn't even a place to sit around anywhere in the hotel besides two chairs near the parking lot! I had stayed in a hotel in the same area with a smaller room and lower price but had an overall better experience. You can feel rejuvenated and refreshed in a cozy old hotel where tourists sit around reading books. I think if Chulia Heritage Hotel improves on its décor and adds an in-house restaurant, it will be much better.

Cons: One of the night there are no parking inside the hotel, parking are too limited and I need to park somewhere far and pay RM12 for overnight parking. The room Aircond is sucks, not operating well and it will shut down itself every early morning. The guards there also not really friendly.
