Aditya Resort - Galle - Building

9,5 Excellent (217 reviews)
R4 556+
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Aditya Boutique Hotel in Hikkaduwa, you'll be on the beach, within a 10-minute drive of Hikkaduwa Beach and Hikkaduwa Coral Reef. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was amazing, the service at reception was good, they were always there to help. After we made a mistake with the booking (a day too early) they offered us an upgrade and a free dinner which they didn't have to! Our standard room was enormous, including a private plunge pool, fish pond and double sinks in the bathroom.
Cons: There's not much to do in Hikkaduwa, but Galle is great and only a short tuk tuk ride away. The sea was really rough when we were there (July) so we were advised not to go swimming.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Facilities and staff exceptional. Photos do not do it justice.
Cons: Nothing
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully designed, well decorated, huge room with a gorgeous beach facing jacuzzi. Excellent staff, probably the most attentive staff we’d encountered across our stay in Sri Lanka. Lovely private beach. Just an excellent experience overall!
Cons: The mandatory New Years gala dinner, while well conducted, felt overpriced. Ideally, the gala dinner should be optional - not all guests are in the mood to have a 5-course meal for New Years.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The rooms, cleanliness, staff readiness to assist, the design, even the smell of the halls and rooms.
Cons: Nothing from the Hotel. The way from CMB airport to the hotel is longer than what google maps will advise. Google maps estimates the trip to be 2.5 hrs. The trip takes from 3.5 to 4 hours. Plan accordingly.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Our room and bathroom was enormous and we had a jacuzzi to ourselves on a floor above us. The main hotel area was very large and airy and had a good view across the garden to the beach. The staff were extremely attentive and charming. The beach was long in both directions and had very few people on it - good for a long walk in the morning or evening.
Cons: Because it was very spacious and modern it was not as intimate as the word 'boutique' implied and the dining area was a large open area facing the garden and beach - there was no separate, more intimate dining area. The sea was rough and there was a strong under-tow - it was not a place to swim in the sea - but one could paddle or 'play' in the water close to the beach.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was absolutely beautiful. The staff were so attentive and kind. We could not have enjoyed our stay more.
Cons: Everything was wonderful. The only improvement that could be made is ensuring drivers know to offer toilet/coffee stops en route from airport.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, perfect for our last night before long flight home!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The room, the view was really good... the staff was just amazing.. helped set a table in the garden for dinner in a very short notice.. also, the any time breakfast policy was such a great thing... thank you for that..
Cons: We wanted to try the pillow collection and we called and asked for 2 pillows, but never got it. But we didnt wanna call the 2nd time. So it was ok.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing service. So clean. Nice people. Quick service , nice comfortable setup. Good food. For relaxing I rate it 10-10. Good taste. Nice decoration, rooms are amazing
Cons: -m
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Standard of room and food incredibly high. Staff were excellent and while not in a city/town centre, it’s very easy to get to any of the surrounding towns in a matter of minutes. The hotel is also on the beach, not the greatest one for swimming though.
Cons: Beach, while not the hotels responsibility or fault, was a bit disappointing. There are many others very close by though.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Aditya is located in a perfect location ..away from the hassle and noise of hikkaduwa! Perfect get way for body and soul.

Pros: Our villa, Hibiscus, was perfect for relaxing days reading by the pool, and has an incredibly comfortable bed. The food was delicious, service outstanding and overall a really fantastic stay.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place and staff.
Cons: Everything
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Waiters could have been a little more attentive - but that’s being pickie
10,0 Excellent
Pros: KK is one of my favourite hotels, my boyfriend and I stayed here before and I couldn't resist visiting again. It is incredibly beautiful, the rooms are clean and cool. From my balcony I could watch the monkeys in the trees. The food is delicious, and the grounds stunning. I had an amazing massage (as a trained masseuse that's high praise) and to visit Galle they booked a tuktuk who waited for a few hours and brought me back again. The staff are welcoming, friendly and eager to help. And I absolutely love the way the hotel is decorated. A wonderful place to relax in peace and quiet. I will return again.
Cons: I love this place, the only part that could be an issue is the location. It can be hard for some to find but if you can show on maps then no problem.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Loved outdoor bathrooms, size of rooms.
Cons: Bed was a little small and too soft.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Set amongst the trees about 10-15 mins from the coast, this property is really lovely. We had the Peacock room which was huge. The rooms themselves were very comfortable and well maintained and are beautifully designed/decorated. Each morning we would observe the local wildlife which are present outside the windows. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Whilst the communal pool is lovely. I should have probably opted for a room with a private pool as it would have added to the satisfaction of this accommodation.
Cons: The food could improve - although it is better than many other places I ate in whilst in Sri Lanka.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Loved this place - real classy, accommodation was exceptional, staff were amazing, food and amenities fantastice. Hard to fault
Cons: Nothing.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: We absolutely loved our stay at Kahanda Kanda. Unfortunately we were only there for the one night but could have stayed much longer. Set in a working tea estate, it’s location is idyllic. Although there are several villas around, we couldn’t see them from ours (Hibiscus) and so felt like we had our own private villa with a beautiful pool. It felt really intimate. To top it off, the food was excellent and nothing was too much for the staff. We couldn’t recommend this place enough!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff worked very hard to make it a wonderful break. They couldn’t do enough
Cons: Nothing
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The staff is incredible. Everyone is so sweet and very attentive. While small, the grounds and views are beautiful. The hotel is beautifully decorated and everything was incredibly comfortable.
Cons: The water in the shower was not hot. I also wish the spa was a little more relaxing. It's small, shades closed so you can't really enjoy the scenery, and the lights were on. Would be great to see a little more investment in this space.

Featured amenities include limo/town car service, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: This was the perfect relaxed atmosphere to finish a two week trip around Sri Lanka. The hotel oozes calm, whilst it is sufficiently close to Galle for any dinner/amenities required. Elke has built a serene jungle escape and we would, without doubt, return for another stay (for more aerial yoga!)
Cons: Some rooms have blinds without curtains, but the staff put up sheets in the evenings to lessen the light exposure at our request. Food was good quality but expect to pay a little more than the Sri Lankan standard.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Elke and the staff were fantastic and very welcoming. The house is lovely with great facilities, away from the hussle of Galle Fort. We took part in the meditation morning session which was fantastic and a great way to start our day.
Cons: We are just sad we didn’t stay longer and really appreciate the peaceful gorgeous house.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: An oasis, beautiful accommodation, wonderful staff including responsive and professional Owners, food was amazing, pool was huge and lovely... what’s not to love?
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is small boutique hotel approximately 20 minutes form Galle on a tea estate. The house and gardens are absolutely gorgeous with a stunning pool. There are daily yoga sessions taught by Elke who also owns the hotel. She is very experienced and the sessions are wonderful. All the staff are so helpful and the freshly made food is delicious.A highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everyting was perfect and attention to detail quite remarkable. The house sits right in amongst stunning trees with the pool jutting unto the jungle to create such strong connection with nature. Delicious food served on the divine terrace from breakfast to dinner means you just totally relax. Or enjoy Elkes daily meditation and yoga classes in beautiful space overlooking hillside. Massage treatments plus tea plantation tours and other delights also available. There is nothing to fault.
Cons: Probably the best boutique hotel ever. Unique mix of incredible style and 5 star comfort and yet I felt like I was at home and could totally relax. Absolutely fabulous place created by Elke and her exceptional team.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Being in the mountains with uninterrupted views, quiet and peaceful. The beautiful building and attention to detail, the yoga classes, the food was delicious, staff were attentive and very service oriented. Spending New Year’s Eve there was very special. What a treat.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: beautiful room, and also lovely places to sit and relax
Cons: cant think of anything
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Niyagama House is nicely off the beaten track at the top of a tea plantation in a very peaceful setting. The room was comfortable and clean with a lovely four poster bed. The bath room was clean and functional too. The food was excellent and was able to be adapted to my wife's requirement for gluten-free. The service was great though everything is freshly cooked so preparation time needs to be allowed for. The pool area is very nice. Although they don't serve wine or beer, they are happy for you to bring your own and will provide appropriate glasses and even serve it for you. The yoga classes and spa treatments were also excellent.
Cons: The room needed some maintenance - only one of three bedside lights was working and the A/C was so noisy that we had to get it looked at by the manager climbing a ladder in our room at 10:30 at night when my wife was already in bed. We would not have slept without!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: environment nice, yoga class nice, service nice.
Cons: bathroom no ventilation, wet after take shower! for activity offered by property, better to clear the price before offer.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Elle and Prasad were very helpful before and during our stay. Thanks to Elke for preparing the birthday cake for us. It’s a pity that our stay is too short that we can’t enjoy the yoga class with elke. Hope to come back to this beautiful place.

Pros: food in the restaurant was very good relaxing place with great and helpful staff yummy breakfast sandy beach close by is good for snorkeling and bathing
Cons: some mold in the shower
9,6 Excellent
Pros: situated by the beach; extra helpful staff; possibility to rear scooter; happy hours for drinks
Cons: the cabana is a bit old, needs some renovation
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Every thing and specially, service from Anthony was great. He is a really a great asset to the company. So please look after him since he is all about to make a difference. Keep up the good work.
Cons: There is nothing to highlight.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Massive room, comfy bed, hot shower, excellent aircon (when there wasn’t a power cut), huge bed (over 7ft long!), beautiful views, the sound of the sea, numerous options to sit/lie & chill (balcony, sun beds, beachfront seats), staff service was perfect (thank you Anthony in particular), watching the turtles in the sea was a unique experience, food was good (try the chilli & garlic calamari...hot!), happy hours with 2-4-1 drinks (1-2pm and 6-7pm)...and the beach itself was very relaxed and never too busy. The pros definitely outweigh the cons.
Cons: We stayed in room A-2 rather than one of the Cabanas so can only comment from that perspective but the road noise and occasional very loud train did make sleeping beyond 6am a bit of a problem. Although we were never in bed late as everything close by (and the hotel) shuts at 10pm so we did always get a good sleep overall. The other strange concept was having to order your dinner by 5/5.30pm if you wanted it. When I’m paying as much as this for a hotel I do expect to choose when/if I eat and make a late decision if that takes my fancy. The restaurant is advertised to the outside world so what do they do if someone walks in off the street at 8pm and asks for a table?! Although another minor complaint in what was generally a positive experience.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful place! The staff was absolutely lovely, caring and helpful, in special Antony. The cabana was very nice and clean. Breakfast was amazing and dinner also delicious! Thank you these wonderful days. We would recommend the Rockside Cabanas Hotel 100%
Cons: Everything perfect!!!
6,3 Good
Pros: Being so close to the beach was great. Anthony was really lovely and so helpful! He was so friendly and nothing was too much to ask from him. He organised taxis for us, recommended places for us to visit, arranged for us to have our breakfast on the cabana and was generally a very lovely friendly person, he really made our stay there. Mini bar prices were cheap, and aircon worked very well. Breakfast was lovely with a good selection of food. also the Tuk Tuk driver opposite the hotel was great he gave us his number and was always there whenever we needed him he recommended places to us and was very friendly! I would recommend using him
Cons: The cabana bathroom roof was cracked meaning when it rained the floor was slippery and wet. There was only a very thin small sheet for a bed cover which was not very comfortable. The whole place just looked a little tatty and old, it could be a really really lovely hotel if a bit of money was spent on it, it could do with a refurbishment. One night we had two rats run down the inside roof of our cabana, we asked to be moved rooms by which the hotel owner told me it couldn’t possibly have been a rat and she won’t move our room. To which I told her I won’t be giving her a good review and she was completely unwilling to help in anyway. So the next morning she found us another room in the main hotel, another cabana also had a rat in it and she set traps to catch them and release them elsewhere. The cabanans are extremely dark and could Do with a nice big window or sliding door.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property right on the beach, very helpful and professional staff. And the owner went out of her way to please us. We stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed every moment.
Cons: The bathroom had not much ventilation.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property with incredible staff, especially Antony who handled everything - front of house, guest relations and service at the restaurant. The cleaning and kitchen team were all friendly and very welcoming. Great food served at the restaurant. Location was perfect, close enough to walk to other properties and restaurants, and still have that peaceful relaxing experience that isn't too busy. Ten minutes from Unawatuna, and fifteen minutes from Galle Fort for a more busy tourist vibe. Beautiful beach with turtle watching from your balcony.
Cons: Unfortunately we had four days of torrential rain which brought about a few unforeseen issues in one of the two rooms we had booked, however the team ensured our comfort and offered a great alternative room.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant staff, very helpful. Assisted in resolving any questions, agreed for the early check-in and late check-out. Good breakfast, very nice view and the hotel area.
Cons: A little bit expensive restaurant.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: With an array of places to sit and, relax and take in the beautiful surrounds, the intimacy of this hotel was perfect for a relaxing stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: One of the best beach properties I've ever stayed at. A wonderful experience. The breakfast spread was amazing!
Cons: The layout of the washrooms may not be for everyone. Great amenities but it's completely see through so not everyone will be comfortable with that. Also, they restaurants could have more vegetarian options. Especially for dinner.
6,7 Good
Pros: Room is like a full apartment, very spacious. Two sinks in the bathroom is very convenient. Bathroom also has a bath. Facilities are good. Big outdoor pool. We asked for a late check-out; we could stay till 14:00 and make use of the Spa Facilities to dress-up.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect
Cons: We allways go there every time we are in srilankan Love the staff, hotel Amezing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: That was a long time I did not have breakfast in the room. That was a great service and beautiful view for a breakfast. This resort is small enough to feel like a boutique hotel but big enough to offer all the facilities. Yes it is pricy for Sri Lanka but this is real international level and service. The ocean view room are just gorgeous and very large. Bathroom is spacious and with two separated space for each of us.
Cons: no table in the room for the breakfast

Pros: It's an amazing place. Takes you back to when you were a kid. The staff is so hospitable and accommodating.
Cons: My stay was too short
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff are very helpful The food is excellent - a menu of local, Asian and continental food. We ate at the hotel all 3 nights - it was that good! Rooms have an old world feel - high ceiling, lots of space, lots of wood. The hotel premises itself is beautiful. Being able to walk onto the verandah and courtyard is amazing. The bathrooms are huge! Our room its own small courtyard with a bench and frangipani tree. Nice touch.
Cons: We were told upon arrival that the spa is closed for renovation. It would have been nice to be informed of that in advance. The hotel is a 10 minutes drive from Galle Fort, and off the main road. You'll need a car to get around (which we did).
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay. The staff were wonderfully warm and welcoming (our 5 year old said he missed them)! The pool is the stuff of dreams. Our room was lovely with air con and a huge bathroom (perfect for families). The breakfast was awesome (hoppers for everyone!) And Galle just an exciting tuk tuk ride away. Can't fault our stay. Pros: The hotel was lovely and relaxing with top class facilities. Loved the historic setting. Swimming in the pool whilst monkeys climbed overhead in the trees was a magical moment,
Cons: Everything inside the hotel confines was exceptional, however, the approach to the hotel along the scruffy road could have been better. But that is the one downside of Sri Lanka, rubbish everywhere. Obviously not at or in the hotel.

The building is an ancient Dutch printing, very interesting and well kept. The pool corner is a pleasant surprise. The staff is competent, helpful and speaks good English. It is highly recommended.

Pros: Peter greeted us very warmly and gave us a map and a suggested walk route along the Fort walls. He explained the building to us which we thought was a nice touch. 8,3 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely amazing view from the sea view room. We could sit in the balcony for ages as it’s basically overlooking the ocean and beach and so close to the water. The staff was friendly too, and breakfast was huge and good.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were helpful and attentive to our needs. The breakfast and air conditioning was what swayed us to stay there, and it did, indeed, prove worthwhile. Much of the strip had imposed power outages at times in the day and night, but the staff did their best to provide excellent services during that time. Having walked the whole beach, this location certainly seemed ideal to me. Keep in mind, this is a simple place, and if you go in with reasonable expectations, its a great (simple) resort. We arrived early in the morning after booking only an hour earlier and he quickly cleaned our rooms and checked us in shortly thereafter. The mosquito net was also appreciated. I felt safe at this location and trusted the people. As a woman who travels alone frequently, I can say that these were good people who made for a comfortable environment.
Cons: The wifi access isn't great, and was unavailable during the power outages anyways. (I had purchased a sim so it wasn't really a problem for me, but it could matter to some). There were ants in my bathroom - this doesn't fuss me in this kind of climate, but again some people might not like that.
7,9 Good
Pros: Great location on the beach in the heart of everything. Breakfast was included in our package and was great. Room was good size and ocean views superb. Staff were happy and helpful.
Cons: We were on level 2 so quite a few stairs to go up. No lift. Coming down one day l slipped on some water on a step and crashed down 3 stairs. Fortunately not hurt badly as l had hold of the hand rail.

Pros: Great location, friendly staff. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Food is very tasty, as them for any fish you like and they will get it..
Cons: The fact that had to leave.
9,4 Excellent
Pros: Simple, clean and superbly located. Very friendly and helpful staff who treat you more like a friend than a guest.
Cons: Good WiFi, but available only in the restaurant.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Perfect stay in Hikkaduwa directly at the Beach! Awesome Breakfast and absolutely nice Staff! The Room was nice with a amazing view to the sea. Thank you guys!
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The location is great, but if you go for a room you may as well go for a room with sea view to really get the most out of the location of the property! The staff was very friendly, and they told us when the baby turtles hatched nearby, so that we could watch them head towards the sea. I even go to hold one :D
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was fine! Thanks!
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Start the day in the morning with an overwhelming breakfast on the beach! So much fruit so delicious, coconut pancakes, fruit juice, egg, yoghurt, Sri Lankan bread.... A relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff. The owner makes a chat every day. The rooms are small but big enough. Good bed with mosquito net, fan and a/c. Tea and coffee with kettle in the room. I recommend this guesthouse when you want to sit close to the beach in a cozy place, Hikkaduwa, with many shops and restaurants.
Cons: The room was not cleaned daily. We had to ask for it. But you may have to leave the key in the guesthouse, we did not actually ask that.
7,5 Good
Pros: Rooms were so clean and staff are helpful, the food is very tasty and good. you can reach this place from Colombo by bus and train as well, it’s a few minutes away from Hikkaduwa train station and bus station too. We stayed for two nights and spent a nice time here. Here, you can rent a surfing board for 400 LKR and enjoy surfing.
Cons: Someone has to tell the restaurant next door on the beach to stop playing music and HipHop songs, the sound of the ocean is enough to enjoy
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast and seaview!

Pros: Seafood great. So was the Yoga morning class and the really great Yoga teacher. We had a morning personal Yoga session everyday during our stay. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: Hotel has not subscribed to allow access to International TV channels such as CNN, BBC, or movie channels. Only news networks available were Al Jazeera, RN and China news.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Room and bathroom were big, confortable and clean. The balcony had the most amazing view but if you don´t want to go to the balcony you can just watch the sunset from the bed! :-) The beach is small but it was clean when we went there and the hotel is very close to Jungle Beach, which is beautiful. The food in the restaurant was very good and the staff is amazing.
Cons: There is a problem with humidity, sometimes the smell can be to strong. I think they need to change all the cushions.

Pros: The hotel was in a good position on the beach. The staff and service were excellent. The food was also very good and reasonably priced.
Cons: It is very much in need of some refurbishment especially the sun beds and generally it looks a bit run down especially compared with the other hotels we had stayed in Sri Lanka.

Pros: Amazing hotel, the pool area is very relaxing. Our room was deluxe with sea view, and had an amazing view on the beach and the two pools. The hotel itself doesn’t have beach (it’s rocky, no swimming) but you get relaxing view of the beach from the pool. The staff are very friendly and helpful
Cons: There were animals from outside (street cats and dogs) that always wandered around the restaurant area. I have a phobia of cats, and having a cat mewing and sticking under my leg during breakfast was really annoying and uncomfortable, I wanted to have enjoy my meals in the beautiful weather outside, but had to stay inside to avoid the animals. Street animals should not be allowed inside the hotel
9,6 Excellent
Pros: lovely hotel with excellent facilities. Staff delightful. safe reliable tuk tuk drivers available. good breakfast. pools well kept with good service.
Cons: Lunch in poolside bar could be improved. Only offered spicy snacks or pizza and service was very slow.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The superior suite is absolutely stunning with a gorgeous little splash pool on the balcony. The suite is away from the main part of the hotel, overlooking the pool and the ocean. Simply beautiful.

Pros: Beautifully peaceful place to unwind after a lot of travel around the island.
Cons: Fortunately there is nothing we did not like
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The house keeping staff went the extra mile with your rooms we looked forward to seeing what towel sculptures were on our bed each day ! The tuktuk drivers used by the hotel were very reasonable and safe drivers. They took you where you wanted not to there friends shop! All the staff were very friendly and attentive and everywhere was very clean. The breakfast was good with a good choice if you were vegan. We weren’t !
Cons: The lunch was disappointing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! The property is nicely designed, room is comfortable, staff are super friendly and helpful.
Cons: it's a shame that we stay here just for one night!
6,5 Good
Pros: We had a problem with our reservation (wrong date) and the hotel acceped to modify the date. However they charged the wrong booking to my bank account. I have sent few e-mails to the hôtel but they don’t give any answer. They finally charged two nigths !! Really discusting behavior for an hotel of this category!
Cons: They were not honest at all!
7,1 Good
Pros: The ocean view from the restaurant, swimming pool and room! It was gorgeous. I liked the pool a lot.
Cons: The staffs were not the nicest. They didn’t try to bring my backpack to my room/a storage room until I asked. After checking out, I planned to go to the spa and lunch at the hotel. I left my backpack and asked them to store it. But when I finished spa and was ready to leave the hotel, I found my backpack was left alone at a corner of the lobby, not the storage room. I complained to the receptionists but they didn’t really apologise. I was thinking these happened because I traveled in a backpacker style... I didn’t feel like they treated me well. Quite disappointing experience in such a 5-star hotel.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous architecture, gorgeous position
6,7 Good
Pros: Food was very good and plentiful.
Cons: Short on amenities- forgot my tooth brush and nothing provided in room. Aircon was not very efficient so room was quite warm. Checkin and check out were lengthy processes. Not quite up to 5 star standard overall

Pros: It was super place to be, very convenient with short drive from Colombo. General Manager & Executive Chef personally attended for our needs.
7,5 Good
Pros: The rooms are comfy and we really like the pool. It’s a very long and clean pool. We all enjoyed a lot.
Cons: The property needs an upgrade. The hand bidet in the bathroom is very powerful the water over flows around the commode area and the tap fixed to it is unadjustable. Commode seating was not properly fixed. These are minor issues, can manage, but if looked at it properly, can get maximum customer satisfaction.

Pros: The pool, location and the staff are excellent .Well designed hotel with easy access to beach .
Cons: Mini bar water bottles are unnecessarily expensive ,5 times of their retail value . Pros: Sun House is simply gorgeous. We would come again in a heartbeat. It is beautifully furnished, spotless, and all the staff are charming. It's not in the Fort, which is only a 10-15 minute walk away, or 5 minutes in a tuk-tuk.
Cons: Nothing. It is all perfect!

8,8 Excellent
Pros: Like stepping back into Colonial past with fabulous furniture, artworks, gracious rooms and wonderful library. Very relaxing.
Cons: It needs some TLC as it’s getting a bit shabby around the edges. Our shower didn’t work, the garden furniture was falling apart and garden could do with a sensitive renovation.

Pros: Loved the quirky history and design of the hotel. Staff were super-accommodating, helpful, and very nice. Our room was spacious, comfortable and had great appeal. We really enjoyed the outdoor seating for evening meals and the cheerful way that our needs were met. Congratulations to the hotel for reducing the use of plastic in the room / bathroom. Refillable ceramic jars of lotion, shampoo etc. were appreciated.
Cons: The pool is great, but ideally the water should be cooler! Difficult to manage in the heat, I know. Also, I'd like to see the hotel reduce the use of plastic water bottles by providing refillable bottles.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location is stunning. You couldn't ask for a more beautiful property. The room was large and the private balcony was beautiful. The breakfast was very satisfying too.
Cons: The one small negative for me was that the AC remote did not work and it was stuck on a temperature that was uncomfortably warm.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The place is magical - beautiful house with a soul and marvellous garden with a hidden pool. While swimming we could observe monkeys on the nearby trees and appreciate company of peacocks strolling around the garden. We have enjoyed every bit of our stay. Our room was just amazing and we were sorry to leave Apa Villa Illuketia. In addition we loved the food - the chef is excellent and the way that the food is served meets standards of the best restaurants. The staff is caring and attentive to detail. We have travelled with our 2 year old daughter and we felt that we couldn't have been better treated.
Cons: One room for improvement is that the bathroom could be a bit more carefully cleaned. Other than that it was perfect. So far our best stay in Sri Lanka.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Wow ! we loved this place. the whole place has so much character, beauty and charm we loved the open air bathroom - still very private, and safe from big critters dropping in. our Lotus room was excellent, cool and clean with superb views and monkeys all around. These are Purple Faced Langurs I believe, and are curious but fairly shy & non-aggressive, they just bounce and play around in the surrounding trees. All the staff were efficient and friendly. we loved the pool & pond area, and observing a whole discovery channel of wildlife in the area. We were sad to have to leave this wonderful Villa, we also hope to return one day.
Cons: maybe another staff member could be considered, as the 2 young men on duty were trying to do everything for everyone including all the cleaning.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, an absolutely stunning property. Set in nature with a magic garden surrounding it. A perfect place to unwind and watch village life. 10 mins tuk to the beach if you require more invigorating pleasures.
Cons: With a little more TLC and general cleaning and TLC this would be a perfect place to stay in. Towels were a bit spartan and toilets could use a bit of an upgrade ours had a bit of a leak.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I loved my second stay at this beautiful colonial home surrounded by lush growth. The grounds are simply gorgeous, the pool secluded and the staff all helpful. My stay here couldn’t have been better — in fact I have decided to return to Apa Villa Illuketia for the final 10 days of my 2018 vacation in Sri Lanka.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed 2 night in this hotel and we totally love in there. Property is smaller, so it is very calm with an amazing atmosphere. Staff and owner were always very helpful and friendly which with they created pleasure experience for us. Recommended!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: A truly lovely and amazing place! Felt like home away from home.

Pros: Wonderful natural setting but close to Galle
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Apa Villa is simply stunning. The House, the rooms, the grounds are all gorgeous. It is a perfect oasis of tranquility and calm. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful, I was traveling alone and they really looked after me. The food is delicious, much of it souced from their own gardens. The hidden pool is wonderful. There is lots of wildlife, monkeys, beautiful birds, butterflies. It is a must stay if you are in this area, or even if you’re not make a point to go! I will definitely return.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: At the end of our 3 wk round trip in Sri Lanka we booked a pond room at Apa Villa. We stayed with 2 adults and a 6 year old. The room is at a wonderfull location next to the pond. From the swing you can look over the rice fields and spot wildlife. Langurs (monkey), monitors, paradise birds, peacocks, brahmini kite, and many more. Breakfast is served at the wonderful and large villa, that is all at your disposal. The staff was so kind to our son, playing, making musik, letting him 'help' in the kitchen, and let him feed the fish. He says that 'next time we go to Sri Lanka, he only wants to go to Apa Villa and stay there for 3 weeks!' We stayed 3 nights. One morning made a trip to Galle Fort, that is wonderfull. The other day we made a trip to the beach. The owners and staff have very good advise where to go and will arrange the transport. The rest of the time we stayed at the premises, spent some time at the pool, or explored the surroundings (rice fields, temples). Last but not least the food is really very good. You can let them know in the morning if your want to stay in for lunch and/ or dinner. Unfortunately we stayed too short to try the whole menu! Breakfast is also very good, and well taken care of. Make sure you try the Sri Lankan breakfast including delicious hoppers.
Cons: Mosquito's were harrasing me when outside, especially at dusk, and even when I used DEET repellent. I was stung even through my clothes. So if moquito's like you, make sure to bring the highest % DEET repellent you can find, and bring this from home. (local replellent did not work for me) The pond room was free of mosquito's, and it has a large and good mosquito net for extra protection.

5,4 Okay
Pros: The property is surrounded by excellent restaurants and very close to the beach. Breakfast was a disappointment but the a la carte Sri Lankan fare was very good. The staff are very friendly, great pool and lovely view of the greenery.
Cons: The breakfast was very ordinary, staff service was slow and even the tea was from teabags. The room we were in had cockroaches. We also had a medical emergency with our child and the restaurant did not have a car service or access to a doctor. The construction and rooms are quite child unfriendly. They also charges us a bomb for the airport transfer.

Pros: The food was delicious
10,0 Excellent
Pros: great breakfast, quiet location in amongst the trees with the monkeys, not too far but far enough from beach hustle and bustle, restaurant food delicious, very efficient and attentive staff, room quirky but quaint, lovely balcony over pool, pool very relaxing and refreshing. Best thing of all yoga and massage with Ranjan was amazing and authentic.
Cons: air conditioner in our room was poorly placed just inside the door so that it barely reached the bed
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel was great. The hotel staff is absolutely amazing and helpfull in any kind of situation. Breakfeast buffet was tasteful! Buffet with western and Sri Lankan specialties. Pool is very clean. We had a good last 3 days here! Sri Lankans are the most friendly and kind people i've met on all of our trips! You make this country great! Pros: Location is perfect in Mirissa. A nice beach in front of the hotel where you can surf. Extra service was very much appreciated.
Cons: The crows that habitat the garden. They live of the garbage of the next door neighbours; the Marriott hotel.

Pros: Food was excellent, staff v nice and helpful. However our room A/C packed up in the night around 11pm, thry did come and check it and finally could not rectify it and offered us another room, we accepted but having waited over an hour , decided to go to sleep thogh it wasnt comfortable. In the morning when i checked i was told that the person who had asked if we wsnted to shift had thought we said no!! Miscomunication i guess, this was a pity as we paid for A/C rooms and didnt hv it )-:
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Such a perfect relaxing stay ! The staff were lovely and super friendly. The room was comfortable, spacious and our first good shower in Sri Lanka. The breakfast buffet had good variety, with a egg/pancake station made to order. The beach was really clean ! Comfortable sun loungers on the beach front, and you can rent surfboards/ body boards/SUP from the hotel for reasonable prices. Nice location, walking distance to other restaurants and great coffee shop nearby (Nomad.. recommend for coffee and smoothie bowls !!)
Cons: Couldn’t fault it.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic beach, great villas, super friendly staff
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Staff and facilities
Cons: TV
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Paradise. Amazing food! Staff could not have been more helpful. Chef even came out and talked about the food. Just wonderful. Beer and wine was all very reasonably priced which is unusual for such an upmarket hotel. Bed was made with flowers scattered over the room every day. Beach was so beautiful and the waves were amazing. Really was the perfect way to wind down after 2 weeks of travelling around the island.
Cons: There isn’t anything I could mention.
7,0 Good
Pros: Rooms were big and spacious with a lovely balcony. The setting is beautiful, and having breakfast overlooking the beach was amazing.
Cons: staff quoted us an insane amount for a taxi, and were not very helpful in this respect. Rooms are a tiny bit tired looking and quite a lot of street noise.
6,7 Good
Pros: Our housekeeper Pri, always with such a genuine smile and ready to help
Cons: Breakfast included in room rate but due to low occupancy, they didn’t tell us that we’d have ala carte. Reception and restaurant staff didn’t seem to eager to impress or go out of their way when we had requests. Basic answer was always no, they seemed to be more concerned with not bending their house rules - property is small and wasn’t what we expected as per pictures but situated in the bay and clean. I wouldn’t return as they failed to impress and felt for the value we paid, had lack of hospitality.
