In direct vicinity of the hotel you find excellent opportunities for leisure and sports: The Black Forest with its magnificent forests and hills start right at your doorstep. If you rather relax, just stay in our garden and let us spoil you. "Petite but exquisite" is the motto of our 4-star hotel.
Pros: The service was exceptional! We have a dog and an 8 month old baby girl and we were welcomed and very comfortable. The breakfast was perfect with delicious fresh breads and jams. The owners are fantastic and really went out of their way to ensure we were well taken care of. The location was also perfect for us because we like to hike. The more touristy town of Triberg was only a short 10 minute drive so you kind of have the best of both worlds. Definitely recommend this hotel for anyone trying to see the black forest!
Pros: Beautiful view/balcony. Nice breakfast with eggs made to order. Convenient to walk to various restaurants in town.
Cons: No WiFi in the rooms. Probably was available in the common areas.
Pros: This hotel has a lot of charm and every inch is covered with local decorations. The staff was kind and were very accommodating for our dog...even setting our breakfast table up where she could join us and not be left in the room. The bed was very comfortable. At the cost, it was as expected or better.
Cons: nothing to dislike.
Pros: The hotel was in a great location in the Black Forest.easy accessible by local transport, taxi, etc. The hotel staff were friendly and mos helpful. It was extremely clean and tidy. The restaurant served a very good continental breakfast,.and the evening meals were excellent. The swimming pool was a bonus,I enjoyed an hour each day swimming in an uncrowded pool. I really enjoyed my stay.
Pros: The spa facilities are fantastic. Although they say no dogs allowed in the dining room, there is another room just across the hall where you can eat and bring your dog. Food was great, I highly recommend eating in the hotel restaurant in the evening. And the breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever had. Overall we had a fantastic short break here, very relaxing, and I would totally recommend it.
Cons: Our room wasnt as nice as the ones in the photos.
Pros: The suna and balcony view
Pros: Very attractive location and attentive service.
Pros: A really lovely hotel with friendly staff. We really enjoyed the breakfast each morning, which was a very good continental spread. We had dinner on our first night too which was a bit more on the pricey side but very tasty, especially the lobster bisque. Room was spacious and very comfortable. If you are wanting a place in a very quiet location as a base for exploring the Black Forest, this works well.

Pros: Very good hotel of the silent Black Forest. Spa and swimming pool open till 10pm. Very good breakfast with a lot of choices. Bedroom large with two beds and two bathrooms and we were a couple.
Cons: Car park on the street and open to everybody. Wifi not so good, there wasn’t a kettle in the room and the bedroom it was too much old fashioned in contrast with the rest of the hotel that it looks more new

Pros: The view and location, as well as all the pretty flowers on the balcony. Hosts were friendly and helpful, and so was the cleaning staff. Short distance from gorgeous waterfalls.

Pros: Charming guesthouse in a beautiful area. The room was very comfortable and overlooked the stream and forest. The owner was very accommodating and took care of all of our needs. The restaurant is amazing and serves excellent food. A true gem of a place!
Pros: The included breakfast was wonderful with a wide variety of food. We had our dinner meal in the restaurant the first night and it was delicious, well presented and one of the best we have had in Germany. It was so good we decided to eat there on our second night. We were not disappointed with another wonderful meal. Mario who is the chef is very talented and exceptional. Not only are the meals uniquely created, they are artfully plated and the flavors are memorable! Beatrice was so helpful from the moment we checked in and made us feel very comfortable with her warmth. Inselklause is in the country yet only a short drive to Triberg. This gave us the feeling of peaceful solitude in the beauty of the countryside. We would have enjoyed staying longer. I would recommend both the restaurant and the hotel without any hesitation!
Pros: We liked the location. It was beautiful and close to the town of Triberg and the waterfall. The owners were very nice and accommodating! Breakfast was good, and the hotel was quaint. It was exactly what we were looking for in terms of our German vacation!
Cons: We were disappointed to hear upon our arrival that the on-site restaurant was closed, but there were plenty of fabulous dining options a short drive away, so we took advantage of those. Also, the electronic controls for the shower were not working properly.
Pros: Location was very nice and close to waterfalls
Cons: Bed and pillow was not comfortable
Pros: Everything was amazing. Lovely lady at the reception, delicious foods in a great environment, comfortable rooms, good breakfast. We could not expect more.

Cons: The breakfast is a bit boring. In addition the parking place is not big...

Pros: Very confortable and clean room within a calm environment. Perfect basecamp to discover the Black Forest.
Pros: Very nice hotel with all the amenities that you need
Pros: Person who checked us in and evening staff in restaurant friendly and helpful.
Cons: Bed creaked if you moved. Shower head broken and wall mouldy above it. Breakfast was until 9.30 but if you came down later than 8.45 there was hardly anything left. The member of staff at breakfast was very abrupt and unhelpful. We had to wait for her to finish a cigarette outside so that we could check out. Hotel was in a suburban street so would have to drive to get anywhere. There was very little view as neighbours trees were too high. Compared to other places we have stayed this was very disappointing.

Pros: Very friendly family run hotel. Went out of their way to facilitate a very late check-in for us.
Pros: nice location, nice staff
Cons: facilities , no elevator ...about 5th floor from the parking location.
Pros: In addition to the bedroom, there was a separate study/tv room//
Cons: An elevator would have been nice. A lot of stairs to climb to the top floor.
Pros: Very good hotel for families with smaller children they have an extra playroom with lots of toys.
Cons: The rolls could have been a little bit more soft and the water of the pool could be a bit warmer
Pros: Cam and quiet place with hood balcony view
Cons: Breakfast was horrible
Pros: We came here in summer, with the whole family, and overall enjoyed it here. The hotel is located is at the outskirts of the town. It is very quiet there, which is quite pleasant. The very nice public bath is just a few minutes walk away, as is the minigolf, the forest where one can have nice hikes, and the town center with various facilities. The indoor pool of the hotel is OK, but in general it is better to go to one of the outdoor baths in Schönwald and nearby towns; the tourist pass allows frees entrance to them, which is really nice.
Cons: The kitchen equipment is really old and randomly assembled. E.g. dozens of small plates, but just a single soup plate; an ancient stove, and a similarly ancient tea kettle; an old, badly insulated fridge (as a result: always wet inside, and very loud). The play room next to the swimming pool, with toys for the kids sports a rather random assortment of old and broken toys ... and. a VHS player with VHS cassettes! All in all, the impression is that all the equipment was bought 20 years ago and never renewed afterwards :-(. That said, it was possible to cook, and the kid could play, so it wasn't the worst.

Pros: The view and the location are beautiful.
Pros: Nice location plenty of reasturants to walk to and places to go and had enough parking.
Pros: The view from the window room was overlooking the nice forest. Breakfast was good.
Cons: The room was too small FOR the asked price.the shower was more of a cabin inside the room.you undress in bed and you enter the cabin!!!
Pros: Lovely house, particularly the breakfast-room Large bedroom & balcony
Cons: our bathroom was quite dark (brown furniture and walls, low lighting)
Pros: Check in was quite quick. Room was big and had a nice view from the balcony. Also view from the breakfast room was super nice. Location of the hotel was comfortable, easy to reach Trieberg and waterfalls
Cons: Breakfast was quite simple, but that is for all types of such hotels.
Pros: Location is alright. Easy parking options.
Cons: The property has lots of restrictions, Ideally best suited for elderly couple who wants to have a very silent stay. Also the property owner was not friendly at all, specially as we are not Germans.
Pros: Rustic style German hotel away from everything but nature. Perfect place for the romantic get away and plenty of hiking. Staff was very friendly and good food. Take your hiking boots as there is plenty to see. I booked last minute for a 3 day weekend and could not have been more happy with the choice. Its family owned and it shows by the hospitality received. Will stay again
Pros: The staff was friendly
Cons: They don’t take CC and breakfast was average.

Cons: The bathroom was very small.
Pros: Lovely location
Cons: Could not pay with credit card
Pros: Good nature.
Cons: Very old facility. No soup in the shower cabinet. Very expensive.
Pros: The location was wonderful. The balconies in our room had amazing views. There is alovely outdoor swimming pool overlooking hills and a paid Jacuzzi which we used and enjoyed a lot. The food at breskfast and dinner was wonderful but the best was the wine. It was the best that I had in my trip
Cons: The staff could have been a little more courteous. They seemed understaffed and hence a bit impatient.
Pros: Large room, with sauna, steam bath, bubble pool, swimming pool. beautiful and quiet location. very friendly receptionist. good value for money thanks to the wellness.
Cons: Should be refreshed, wifi almost unreachable in the room.
Pros: A little off the beaten track, but isn't that what holidays are all about? Finding something different in a tranquil location with beautiful views. This is a place to relax. Nothing too much trouble. Parking on site, very clean comfortable. There is a pool and games room on site. Being a rural location adds to the charm and you can be at one with nature.
Cons: WiFi was a bit patchy owing to the location but that did not distract from the stay at all.
