I loved the relaxed vibe, and proximity to the beach. The staff at the restaurant were very accommodating with my sons particular food needs - which makes for a happy mom! Jax (spelling?) the Waitress at Ocean2000 was wonderful - she was fun, fabulous and attentive. We all loved sitting in her section twice on the trip! Brian at the pool was so enthusiastic and attentive. He made arriving at the pool just what we needed - a big smile and reminder he was there to take care of us. He treated each and every person who arrived at the pool with respect and the same enthusiasm. (event when they didn't deserve it) All the bellmen who allowed my son to press their elevator floors and be their "elevator operator" even when busy. For a mom of an autistic child whose particular obsession is with elevators I was incredibly appreciative of the kindness shown to him. Makes my ability to relax that much more attenable. I look forward to returning!

Staffing for food service at both the pool and the beach was problematic. The staff themselves were great, they just shouldn't be alone. You need at least two people at the pool when full, you need multiple people for the beach. We would have spent a lot more money if we could have had a more attentive server. I think you are losing out on a captive audience eager to spend money. Additionally, when one person in my group arrived she only had a debit card upon check in. I was paying for all the rooms and actually called and said that I would be paying for everything and I didn't want her to have to pay for anything on the trip. I was informed she would just need to put a card down for incidentals and then I could change the card when I arrived. When she arrived the front desk staff was not helpful or kind to her, insisting she needed to have a credit card. They were very pushy and repeatedly called her until I was able to get there and change the card on the room. Since I made the call before hand I would have appreciated some sort of accommodation. We had four rooms and I was listed as the main point of contact. At any time someone could have looked at the notes of my call - if they were made - or called me directly to ask for a credit card for her room. I just didn't feel like her entry into the vacation was what she deserved and I would hope there would be a better way to handle these situations.

Well appointed rooms. Amenities included with room like beach chairs & umbrella. Restaurant was excellent especially at breakfast.

Due to the densely populated area parking was limited and we had to valet at an extra cost. Room fees & taxes are high in the area (not resorts fault).

We have been to this wonderful location twice before. The rooms are spacious and have a balcony overlooking the Atlantic. The beach and lazy river are nice, and there is a coral reef off the beach. The city beach walk starts at the hotel and runs south to the Riverwalk.

The hotel has been redone in a manner that sacrifices a modern look for functionality. For example, the bathroom door was a barn door style that neither closed nor locked. Despite the bed space for 4-6 people, the bathroom had only 2 pegs and no towel rails. And this is a beach hotel! The bathroom sinks were a single trough, which meant they could not be used as two. In the rooms, there was very little storage, with stands instead of bureaus. The beds had minimal covers of a cheap variety, and there was no desk or table, in this computer age. There was dust and some dirt . They fancy themselves a luxury resort, but don't meet the grade. Several extra charges added on- resort fee, expensive required parking.

I loved that the pool and the lazy river were available 24 hours. Just outside of the hotel, the beach was right there just a couple steps away. The staff throughout was incredibly nice and welcoming and always willing to help. One pool staff member in particular shined above all else, his name was Brian and although other workers from the pool were very nice and helpful as well, Brian was the most exceptional.

I love the view, the staff, the service, the food was delicious, everything overall about this hotel was exceptional during my stay.

About

Overview

Slightly boho with a bit of Southern belle and on a prime beachfront location, is only one reason the Pelican Grand Beach Resort is considered one of the most romantic hotels in Fort Lauderdale.

The Pelican Grand Beach Resort feels both modern and quaint, and it's an incredible spot for beachfront relaxation, with spaces like an oceanview terrace ready with comfortable rocking chairs. Situated in the quiet, northern part of Fort Lauderdale, the resort offers direct beach access with beautiful water views. The pristine location is a trade-off for staying the quieter part of the area because it means there isn’t much within an easy walk to the resort. However, a five-to-15-minute drive takes guest to The Strip, a nature preserve, Las Olas Boulevard, a strip of bars, restaurants, and clubs, and downtown Fort Lauderdale.

Spacious, beachy rooms with eclectic style and charm plus balconies and vintage bathrooms range from standard rooms with city views to oceanfront suites with extra amenities. Unique room designs range from striking accent walls made of reclaimed wood painted in soothing pastels to more provincial, cream striped wallpaper. Amenities in each room include mini-fridges, microwaves, flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, and coffeemakers.

The Pelican Grand features a decent number of luxurious amenities for guest including the biggest perk, direct beach access. A pool with a lazy river, a chic spa, and fitness center freshen the deal. There are also dining and drinking options on-site through a restaurant, Victorian-style ice cream parlor, and rooftop terrace.

The Grand Victorian-style Pelican Grand Beach Resort offers plenty of seclusion and privacy in a beachy and charming environment. Travelers seeking a romantic getaway for an affordable value will find a home at Pelican Grand Beach Resort.
