Overview

Just off Interstate 80 in Wyoming's southwest corner, the Best Western Dunmar Inn spreads across landscaped grounds in Evanston, Wyoming, a railroad town on the road to the Tetons. The setting is a quiet surprise, with walking paths and a three-sided waterfall threading fifteen acres. Beyond the grounds, Bear River State Park shelters bison and elk at the edge of town, the Uinta Mountains rise south for hiking and fishing, and the restored frontier post at Fort Bridger and the Chinese Joss House Museum tell the area's history. Evanston's calendar runs from the PRCA Rodeo to the Mountain Man Rendezvous. Newly renovated rooms offer direct parking access and free high-speed Wi-Fi, and a seasonal heated outdoor pool and a sauna ease the road. A complimentary hot breakfast opens the day, with an on-site restaurant and lounge for the evening. With the Tetons and Yellowstone up the road, Evanston makes a restful gateway.

Pros (+) Shuttle from airport to hotel. A more economical rate for pre cruise hotel room
Cons (-) Elevator was slow. Transfers to the cruise port were not well organized. I would only stay here for one night prior to a cruise. No decent restaurant within walking distance.
