Pros: Easy pick up and drop off. Car ready for us when we arrived. Great staff.. friendly and efficient.

Pros: Car was as generally clean as expected. Otherwise, my experience was bad.
Cons: Did not have the 5 dr hatchback I reserved or "similar" and charged upgrade for a larger hatchback to avoid downgrade. I was essentially ignored at pick-up and had to call-out to get attention. Attendant then pointed out my car and said "keys are in it". GPS did not work.

Never again will I rent from this company again.
Pros: Nothing really, the car I received was larger then expected which was not ideal for European driving.
Cons: The car that was given to me had extensive cosmetic damage prior to my rental. I was told to verify that those all of those cosmetic damages prior to driving away. When I returned the car, they identified scratches that were not my fault and then charged me 850 euros for damage I did not do. Horrednous service. Total bill was shy of 1000 euro for a 4 day rental. Never again will I rent from this company again. Stay away.

Clarifying car size
Pros: The agent in Dublin was excellent, Ivan, I think.
Cons: we rented the car through carrentals.com. it was supposed to be large 7 passenger with 4 suitcases. unfortunately we had to fly into Dublin instead of Shannon. We could not get a clear understanding from Europcar whether you rented this size car in Ireland. 2 agents said no, one agent said yes. The two that said no, indicated the broker was mistaken and should not have offered the size we booked. This seems strange since Im sure we are not the first to rent a large Europcar in Ireland through your representative, carentals.com

Failure to Communicate
Cons: I'm 77. Europcar (Ireland) won't rent a car without a letter from a doc if you're over 75. Fine (maybe). But there was NO warning about that -- so they turned me down and I got no car for my vacation. This is just horrible!

Additional fees add up
Pros: I wound up with a nice car,
Cons: I wound up with a different car than I reserved and was charged an upgrade fee along with a daily 10 Euro fee for a additional GPS system despite the car having a built in system. I did not take the optional GPS when I picked up the car. At the drop off no one was there except for a sign instructing us to wait and someone would be available soon. Twenty minutes is unreasonable when having to catch a flight. The attendant who finally showed up had no understanding of my charge for 2nd GPS and dismissed the daily charge as something other than for a GPS. He has no clue.
