Pros: Everything was absolutely perfect! Location, view from my room, the room itself, staff and breakfast. Recommend this hotel to everyone!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are new and comfortable with a very clean design. The hotel location is perfect with a fantastic view of the cliffs and the city. Perfect for a sunset drink.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Our view from the room was wonderful. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was the best meal we had in France.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: This is a well located Hotel, offering exceptional views of the cliffs of Etretat. If you intend to dine in the restaurant located at the Hotel make your reservations ahead of time. We didn’t and could not be accommodated, however there are excellent restaurants located in Etretat which are within walking distance.
Cons: Minor complaint, no coffee machine located in room.
7,0 Good
Pros: Location only, parking is available.
Cons: The dinner was closed for guests of the hotel!!! We had to find dinner somewhere.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Chose it because of its unique position looking down over the bay and town - and the gardens - and yet only 5mimns walk to the bay. Better to have a non-seaview room here than a s/view in town! Restaurant was also very good.
Cons: Breakfast not included!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The views were gorgeous and the location was perfect. I wish we had stayed longer!
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The sea view was amazing from the room. Which was spacious and comfortable. We had dinner In the lovely dining room and the food was very good especially the desserts.
Cons: Can’t think of anything that could have been improved on. It is quite expensive to stay there so that’s why we can’t think of any priblems
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lookout over the sea. The proximity to the walking paths and town Centre. The hotel and restaurant were perfect in every way.
Cons: All good
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The property is situated on a cliff with a fantastic view of Etretat and its famous “aiguille creuse”. Every time we go in this area, we stay at the Dormy. The restaurant is excellent. What you have to know is the restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesday. We did not read the small prints on the booking and went on Monday. It is not really a problem because there are many good restaurants in the town. The breakfast at the hotel is also excellent. Hot and cold and a very good selection.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, especially our room and the view from it.
Cons: Well, I've given you top marks for everything so I can't really say there was anything not to like!
5,3 Okay
Pros: The location in Etretat of the Dormy House is wonderful. Our room had an incredible ocean view. And the restaurant at Dormy also had a wonderful panoramic view. There was a short footpath which led directly to the beach.
Cons: The individual rooms are quite dated and dusty. It doesn't have all the modern comforts of a newer hotel such as in-room internet access. And the design of the rooms and hotel was a bit antiquated - it simply looked outdated rather than Old World.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Bedrooms need to be updated, Price of restaurant meal & slow service.
7,7 Good
Pros: We had a very comfortable stay in this lovely hotel with its fabulous views. The food was excellent if a little expensive.
6,0 Good
Pros: Magnificent view (ask for seaside view)
Cons: old plumbery probably, since water temperature changed in the shower (I particularly do not like that), price is rather high but the view compensates for this
7,3 Good
Pros: Superb location, balcony room with superb panorama across the bay at Etretat. Pretty gardens, again with superb views. Fabulous room and bathroom and excellent food with good service.
Cons: No.
7,6 Good
Pros: the staff were superb! They couldn't do enough for you and accommodated every request promptly, cheerfully, and to your total satisfaction. The view was also among the most spectacular we have ever had from a hotel room!
Cons: No elevator, but that's quite common in European hotels that are not part of a chain. They carried our , and we miminzed trips back to our room. Not a problem.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely property with well kept gardens managed by very helpful staff. Amazing views with a good breakfast. A somewhat quirky property in a lovely way within walking distance of the town centre. Old fashioned but with loads of character. Highly recommended.
Cons: Nothing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything in this place was wonderful! Big cozy house, friendly and careful owner, clean room, beautiful garden. Any question, any issue - Rafael is ready to help and give an advice. It seems that he is enjoying his guests. Very pleasant! Recommend to everybody. Best staying in Etretat :)
6,7 Good
Pros: The site couldn't be better--on a hill, overlooking the village and the falaise. The room was adequate--typical of a gite--and the breakfast was better than adequate.
Cons: The proprietor. I've been traveling for decades; never have I come upon as unpleasant a proprietor as here. From the first, he was sullen and unhelpful (when we asked about restaurant recommendations, he responded "they're all good...you better leave now, because restaurants close early [in fact they closed more than an hour]..this isn't Paris." We were yelled at for leaving the hall lights on (for 5 minutes, while we unpacked the car) and for making noise (the floorboards squeaked) and.... too bad: a lovely place was made less than lovely.
7,9 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good and location was fantastic. Great view and easy to walk into town.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is an amazing place worth the visit itself. It is an authentic Etretat vacation house with spacious rooms, inspiring art and overall instagramable spots in every step. The hosts were very welcoming and supportive. The breakfast was lovely.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The property had a lovely homely feel about it and the hosts very friendly.
Cons: The internet connection was not good.
7,5 Good
Pros: It's a beautiful old mansion uphill surrounded by ancient trees overlooking the falaises of Etretat. We enjoyed the seclusion, the beauty of the house and the fact that we didn't have to worry about parking, which can be a real hassle in Etretat. We had a big comfortable room elegantly decorated and with a beautiful view of the village and the bay. We also appreciated the freshly cut flowers in the room. It's not so difficult to find the place by car as many other travellers complained in their comments. It's actually quite simple if you follow the host's instructions (and not the navigator's).
Cons: The bathroom could have used a bit of refurbishing, the toilet seat was sliding sideways….Breakfast was unsatisfying.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: You feel invited at someone´s home. The owner is courteous, flexible, and the home is just superb. We had a view on the bay with the cliffs. it´s all so quiet and peaceful. The reakfast in the dining room is very nice, great quality of products.
Cons: Everything was great, i do think however that shower gel should be in the bathroom. That´s my only remark.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Magnificent view over the city and the cliffs. Very warm welcome by the owner. Historical building. Cosy and truly charming. Highly recommended when you go to Étretat.
Cons: Parking at the residence can be complicated when there are many guests.
7,5 Good
Pros: The location was perfect plus super quiet and peaceful ! Breakfast very cery good!
Cons: Rooms where not cleaned for 3 Nights Wifi upstairs too weak had to go downstairs

Cons: Nothing to dislike.

Pros: The fresh air.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property and nice farm animals
Cons: Checkin/ out times are very specific so pay attrntion! Likewise breakfast yime is only 9-10
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The room itself, the common area and the park!
Cons: -
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great location, knowledgeable and helpful owner, good breakfast, lovely grounds. The rooms we stayed in had twin beds upstairs and a double downstairs - perfect for a family.
Cons: We were there during the heat wave so this might by atypical but the upstairs rooms were incredibly hot. There is no fan in the room and we couldn't keep the windows open because there were no screens and lots of mosquitoes. We had to sleep on the floor of the downstairs room due to the heat - a few fans and screens would have made a big difference! But again, maybe this was all due to the rare heatwave and isn't an issue at any other times.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very nice garden, spacious parking, very clean facilities
Cons: There was not very good sound insulation as we could hear noise from the kitchen in the morning but otherwise our stay was perfect.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and quiet location yet close no the seaside and restaurants, parking within 5 minute walk. Room very clean and cosy, not as small as I expected, WC freshly renovated, and the reception person very friendly. Nice place to stay and definetely worth the money.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff who gave very good information and the restaurant recommendations were spot on. Delicious breakfast. The bread was excellent. Hotel location: in the middle of the town. 5 minute walk from the beach and some nice restaurants a couple of streets down the road.
Cons: Would be great if the shower gel was provided in a bottle as the little packs were not handy. It would also be great if there were a holder in the wall to put the soap or shower gel on under the shower
7,5 Good
Pros: My window was to the back street, so there was no noise at night. The breakfast is delicious and there's a variety of breads, drinks, yogurt, fruit, jam, cheese, and cereal. The room interior was nice, and a larger mirror, hairdryer, place for hanging clothes were available.
Cons: The mattress was old and hard. The bathroom was tiny (and I'm a small person). The room was cleaned daily, but the floor was not cleaned.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel. Location is perfect, 2 mins walk to the center, 5 to the cliffs. The guy who’s running the hotel is very nice, friendly and helpfull...gave us heaps of options to eat and very good advises ! The room is very comfy, clean and nice. Breakfast was simple but good!
Cons: Lack of parking but as most of the hotel in Étretat apparently...
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The owner gave us great tips on places to eat at. His recommendations were fantastic
Cons: The check in time is only at 15:00, which is quite late. That's because they have to clean up the place. They were kind enough to let us leave our luggage.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely clean and comfortable. This is a wonderful quirky hotel. The attention to detail is perfect. Wonderful artwork and artifices. Host friendly, I would recommend this hotel.
Cons: None
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic quirky hotel with stylish rooms each with the theme of a famous literary detective. Ours had a secret sliding door a small salon, bathroom and toilet hidden behind elegant mirrored wardrobe doors. Very comfortable bed and every detail well chosen. Wonderful location 5 minutes from the each with its spectacular cliff formations at either end. Highly recommended
Cons: Road was busy with Sunday traffic but this subsided by late afternoon and was then no problem.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel with secrets and lots of attractive & nice detective thematic things. Warm welcome from the first minute. It was lovely to have a cup of tea or coffee in the hotel lounge, where you could find lots of games. Location perfect, very close to the beach and main places of interest in Etretat. In conclusion, this hotel exceeded our expectations!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Cozy, charming, clean, nice staff, a wonderful apricotmarmalade
7,5 Good
Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and we liked decoration of the room. Detective theme was fun and the location of the hotel was excellent.
Cons: We were together with my wife and had some time to be without children. Somebody came to our door at the evening (10 pm) shouting; walls are thin and we should stop that (what adults do sometimes, expecially when they are on holiday). That felt bad and ruined our staying at hotel.
7,9 Good
Pros: Location & atmosphere
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice location and every room has a detective concept which seems very very fun. Decoration is also very nice
Cons: It wasnt very clean
8,3 Excellent
Pros: We liked the quirky nature of the hotel and the curated collection of memorabilia and detective 'prop-ery'. The salon was a terrific spot for breakfast and breakfast was good too (very friendly and helpful staff)but the upper floors / rest of the hotel couldn't quite keep up, looking a bit tired or trying too hard in other places. Staying in the duplex (up three flights to sleep on the second floor) was a little odd and too cramped for a family of four. The central location of the hotel is a hit but comes with the usual caveat about plenty of noise and drifting vehicle and smokers' fumes if your windows are open and you overlook the main thoroughfare. Turn right out of the hotel and right again to head towards the seafront and find 'nicer' restaurants. We loved climbing the cliffs and the beach front along with everybody else in town it seems.
Cons: Parking is a faff. You can find spots about 5 mins away for 5 euros a day but it's not easy when it comes to loading/unloading. Eating 'reasonably' is a bit tricky also in Etretat - £60 plus per meal - so best to head to a boulangerie for a sandwich on the go. Then run the gauntlet of the gulls....
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the detective theme. One or two fun surprises which showed our ‘detective’ skills weren’t as good as we thought they were! Really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back for a longer stay.
7,5 Good
Pros: Good location, right next to attractions and restaurants. The beds are clean and fresh, clean showers. The hotel is very small and charming, with its "Detective" decorations, being located right to the Maurice LeBlanc's house, Arsene Lupin 's "father".
Cons: May be pleasant to people used with antiquities, old smell of wood and, generally, historic buildings, but I couldn't get over the smell...

Cons: Room was street side and a big noisy
8,8 Excellent

8,3 Excellent
Pros: The Villa is located very centrally and a walk distance to the beach and cliffs. The property is very beautiful and well maintained. The breakfast room and reception are nicely decorated. The room was pleasant and the suff was very friendly and welcoming.
Cons: The rooms are a bit small and the toilet in our room was outdated. It would be nice if there was somebody at breakfast at all times: there are juices and milk, but no water to drink. I wanted to ask for water but didn't see anybody (at the reception either) to ask for it. Also toaster for the bread would be nice, as the rolls we got were a bit dry. All those a minor things, very easy to improve. Overall the Villa is a wonderful place to stay while visiting Etretat.
7,9 Good
Pros: The hotel is well located, parking on site (for a charge) is worth it as Étretat parking is difficult in August. Room very clean and comfortable. Breakfast ordinary and over priced. Staff friendly.
Cons: Hotels charging €15 for breakfast should offer home made coffee, not ask you to press buttons on a machine.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel.
Cons: There is no elevator
7,1 Good
Pros: Beautiful property clean rooms helpful staff. None of the staff or locals spoke much English which helped us with our French pronunciation. Great French village to visit clear blue sea lots of places to eat.

Pros: Restoran and building itself
Cons: Menu in English could add value
9,2 Excellent
Pros: We were upgraded to a room called Emilien et Sophie, which was very yellow and quite quirky! Very comfortable bed and pillows. Lovely deep bath. We ate in the hotel restaurant, choosing the table d'hote Arsene menu for 39E. Wine was expensive but so often there is a terrific mark up on wine in French restaurants. Very good food. Nice conservatory/lounge area with wood burning stove as it had turned chilly. The swimming pool area looked good but too cold and wet to use unfortunately.
Cons: Hotel not so good for disabled as lots of slopes and quite a long walk from town down steep road or steps.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Nice location with splendid views on Etretat.
Cons: Access a bit more difficult and a lot if stairs in the hotel. And hotel restaurant closed 2 nights a week (the 2 days we were staying there; Monday & Tuesday).

Cons: Every Person in the Hotel was unable to speak english or anything other than french. Even when they recogniced that we were Not of french origin, they did nothing to improve their communication with us. When we ate breakfast, there was a disgustingly bad smell. Pros: Great location, just a few minutes from the beach.very friendly staff .
Cons: Nothing!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: I loved the lady at the reception, she was very kind and helpful.
Cons: The service was a bit slow. I sat down in the restaurant downstairs alone. Although the waitress had a kind smile, she took my full order and after each dish kept asking me if I still wanted another dish.... in the time I sat down, clients came in after me, had a main course with desert and left and I was still sitting there. At the end for a slice of home made pie, I waited 17minutes.... there were only 6 people sitting in the restaurant :/ and she continued to serve everyone else faster than me... very strange feeling
7,5 Good
Pros: At the heart of the place

When you stay at Hôtel La Résidence Manoir de La Salamandre in Etretat, you'll be by the ocean, just steps from Etretat Beach and Alabaster Coast.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Great location close to the beach
Cons: Poor English of the staff and unfriendliness

Cons: Room very cramped, pointless having four poster and kept knocking myself on it. Parking a problem but big car park only a few minutes walk away.
7,1 Good
Cons: The lady at the reception was so arrogant and not helpful at all.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Bed was ok
Cons: Not enough staff, long wait at reception on arriving and leaving. Room 15 too small for a double bed, access one side only. Basin damaged and curtain in room dirty. So much demand in Étretat they don't need to try. Breakfast was simple for 12.50 euros but quality ok.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location, authenticity
Cons: Noisy
7,9 Good
Pros: Great location and great building, good view, nice dinner. The restaurant food quality is great (service was a bit slow).
Cons: Massage bath had some deficiencies. The entire wooden outside stair to these rooms has to be remade, there are not just some minor deficiencies there (lacking wood, broken wood, unstable stairs).
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Sensation to stay in an ancient building "Manoir" available in Etretat with a clean and modern bedroom inside the building.
Cons: The stair is not really comfortable as the hotel would like to keep the existing ancient building.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent stuff, good breakfast, perfect arthitecture
Cons: Nothing!
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent lo cation, great breakfast, and friendly staff.
Cons: Bed not too comfortable .
7,9 Good
Pros: The hotel occupies a historical building, tourists stop to make pictures of it. It’s authentic inside. The hotel is clean, location is great.
Cons: The room was really small, but the price was adequate. The administrator was inattentive at our check-out and tried to double charge. After some discussion she checked the documents and the situation was settled, but I was ready to pay because we had a scheduled transport and to try to settle the situation with booking.com. Of course it would have taken a lot more efforts afterwards.

Cons: the reception staff were disinterested when we asked about parking facilities in the town. just shrugged shoulders. We had booked for 2 nights but it was an awful hotel. not what we are used to with booking .com. room small and the hotel needs a complete makeover! we decided not to stay so we lost our money for 2 nights. tourist Info found us a Chambres D'Hotes which was excellent.

Cons: The rooms were not all renovated as shown in the main picture.

Pros: It appeared clean, the linen was decent, and the location was fantastic. All in all I'd recommend it for a short stay in Etretat based on my experience in room 8.
Cons: It was the little things, I know it is a 2 star hotel, but I was surprised that the faucet in the ensuite in our room was not properly attached to the sink. Also, it sounded like there might have been mice in the walls. We woke up a few times to scratching and scrambling sounds coming from the wall near the bed.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Location is close to the older part of town where you find all the restaurants and bars. The beach is a 5 min walk and the cliffs are also on walking distance. You can rent a private parking space in a very nearby garage for 8 euro.
Cons: The rooms A LOT less nice as the photos. Old and small room, old bathroom (shower was fine!) and not really clean. We asked if they could provide us with a baby bed, for which they wanted to charge us 9 euro (we are never charged extra for a baby bed). On top of that, the hotel charged 3 euro extra for the baby. Ridiculous since the room is already too expensive compared to its value. The “restaurant” is everything but cosy, we had dinner elsewhere. The hotel is fine as long as you have no high ecpectations.

Pros: Location was good, but it’s a very small town. So, any hotel is good located
Cons: “Hotel” management was not present during check-in and directed us to go next door to a store for the key for check-in at 3:00pm. The store was closed. I needed to park my rental vehicle, but didn’t know where. Had to pay for public parking and wait for management to arrive at 6:00pm. Then I still had to pay for overnight parking with the hotel’s private parking. Upon our 3:00p check-in and receiving the key from the store next door, the water faucet to the hand sink was broken and the water was shut off to the rooms. The water had to be opened manually by the management/owner when he arrived at 6:00pm. It made no sense that check-in is at 3:00pm, but the guests could not use the room until 6:00pm. Also, I specifically filtered for 24/7 service when booking this hotel. Very disappointed with this poor service.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Good hotel in center of Etretat, just 5 minutes from Hotel de Ville and bus stop to Le Havre. Hotel is small, and we have lovely room with entrance from the balcony with nice view! Room was pretty big, bed was comfortable, shower - normal. We even had rest-zone with coach and small table in our room. Easy check-in and check-out

Pros: Its just 2min walk to the beach, right in the center with all restaurants around it. Very conveniently located. Very cleanly maintained rooms with super clean bathrooms, comfortable beds. They also allowed for luggage storage at the reception before check-in. Very coordial staff! One of the best stays you could find at this price
Cons: The attached restaurant had very limited options on their menu. Breakfast was limited too. Food was OK but not really great but was value for money.
5,8 Okay
Cons: The room is very small. The minimum of the comfort, no even the glasses provided . However, the bed is comfy - no complaints. Suitable for overnight - and just once.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Good location
Cons: Staff. The manager, a short hair woman, needs to improve the way she treats her clients urgently. Terrible mood, didn’t want to let me check-it because I arrived at the hotel at 10pm.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Atmosphere of living in the taverne is something - felt like I was staying in Sapkowski's story. :) The place overall is fine: location is great, staff are ok, room is small but tidy and wifi is fast.
Cons: I highly encourage you to choose other places to dine in - there are many great restaurants around, so just skip this place in favor of something else. If you're not a restaurant kind of person - go to the local stores nearby, they're selling decent cidres/huitres/cheese - perfect to lunch/dine outside.

Cons: Parking the car.

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Absolutely horrendous. Missy avoid this place at all costs. Hotel staff were not present when we arrived, refused to answer the phone when we called to gain access/book in, and ended up having to travel 30miles away due to severe incompetence.

Pros: Nothing!
Cons: Tiny dark wood pannelled third floor attic room with no lift and 59 stairs! Toilet was in a tiny cupboard. Staff offhand and couldn't care less attitude. Fire door at top of stairs was wedged open.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great location, nice view, cozy room, it was clean Perfect option for this price
7,5 Good
Pros: Amazing view from the window on the square, cliffs, church on the cliff. Cute small balcony where you can sit and admire the view. I loved the interior, it was super cozy and authentic, just like the pictures. Separated bathroom and toilet- small but clean. Perfect place to stay for a few nights and explore Étretat (situated in the heart of the town) and feel as the part of this amazing atmosphere.
Cons: After 22pm entrance from the backdoor, the side street had a light which only switched on when you stay bu a certain angle right by the backdoor- so it is a bit creepy when you go there in the darkness. The manager seemed a bit unfriendly.

Pros: location is in the middle of the town, close to the beach
Cons: staff wasn't helpful, the room wasn't very clean, there is no lift.
