Staff was professional and helpful, the bed was comfortable and the room was larger than we expected. Breakfast was really good and the rooftop terrace was perfect for lounging, reading and napping. The room was made up every day!
The place is located in a lively neighborhood. Three nights we were kept awake by yelling for over an hour-a man in the street. We really needed earplugs. Our last night was the worst and we couldn’t wear earplugs because we had to wake up with an alarm. This is not the fault of the lodging-just a downside to staying in the old town. The streets around the Dar are absolutely filthy as well. Internet was not as strong as we had anticipated it would be. Finally, we made the reservation at the last minute, received confirmation but no one was there when we arrived. I’m glad we had a Moroccan SIM card, or it would have been even more stressful.
Great service and welcome from Hafid & Hakima, really made meand my friend feel at home. Always willing to chat and help with queries. Nice rooms, they had modern electric heaters installed, which meant I didn't get cold during the stay, as it was quite cool weather at the time. Property and rooms very clean and very well kept. The courtyard felt like a retreat from the (slight) bustle of the medina and I accepted various offers of mint tea while sitting there. Nice breakfast of mixed fruit with yoghurt, bread and a different kind of crepe each day, along with bread, and we were always asked if we'd been fed enough and did we want anything else! A very comfortable experience and a location right in the middle of the medina off one of the main throughfares. The location (and city in general) felt very safe, even at night. Recommended!
It was odd only Visa cards were accepted and would have been great had Mastercard also been accepted for payment.
The breakfast was excellent! The lady at the riad was super friendly. Good value for money. Recommended
If you are looking for luxury that in not the place for you.
Excellent breakfast, lots of breads/jams/honey, omelettes and spiced coffee. We also liked getting fresh air into our room with windows that open to the outdoors. The shower worked well with hot water but with some short cycling to luke warm - nothing too bad. We also liked that the location was very easy to find with google maps and the airport service we booked through the hotel walked us completely into the medina to the door of the hotel. This was excellent. There was a wall mounted heater that really warmed up the bed area. We turned it off before going to sleep and were good all night (in December). They let us keep our bags at the hotel while we explored the town the next day (if going to Marrakech, get your bus tickets as soon as possible). When we returned to collect our bags, they let us use the toilet, which was great before the 3 hr ride. This hotel has everything you want at a great price.
Since we had the windows open, we heard quite a bit of street noise and of course the call to prayer in the morning (unavoidable anywhere you stay). We did stay on a Saturday night. The hotel cannot do anything about these things because it was our decision to open the windows.
Very good located, clean, stylish place with a very good hospitality. Breakfast next to fireplace was cool too.
