9,6 Excellent
Pros: Good value for the money you pay with all the amenities it has.
Cons: The bar could be cozier and better decorated, too plane.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Aquatic rentals
Cons: I did not like that I had to leave so quickly.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms, view, restaurant, pool, spa, outside bar, staff were all excellent.
Cons: Shower head was too low (>6ft) which made it uncomfortable to crouch under. Air conditioner only worked on full heat or nothing. I'm sure they would have swapped rooms if we had complained for this. Not a big issue this time of year.
4,2 Okay
Pros: The hotel itself is nice. A little dated but clean and with character. The parking seemed very safe. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were perfect this time of the year. room was large
Cons: Ice machines were all off and when I ordered some from room service it never showed up. My overall experience is that it wasn't worth the price tag.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent place. It was our first time staying there and loved it. Suite super clean and staff real nice ,real good service
9,7 Excellent
Pros: The marina and bay view. The morning breakfast. Courteous, friendly, and helpful staff. Close to the wine country.
Cons: I can't really complain, but I would have liked to have been able to dance. That would have made it perfect.
7,1 Good
Pros: Bed was good. Good personal. Good location.
Cons: Look a bite all. For the price.
5,7 Okay
Pros: I liked the lobby the restrooms the restaurant the pools the gym and in general the room Prices were moderately fair.
Cons: August 9 ,2017. First, the playground is broken dilapidated and somewhat dangerous. The teeter todder is made of wood that is not finished or Glazed- it caused my wife to get a splinter on her butt. At the end of the tallest twist slide there was damage to the plastic tunnel that could lead to a cut. The end of the slide was also too high from the sand floor - could cause injury. The restaurant food was great. But the leather chairs were ripped and faded. There was also visible signs of wear and breakage on the tiles that outline the bottom of waiter stations in the middle of the dining area. While at the bar, I noticed the stools were too high for the bar - in all fairness- the bartender said the new chairs -with the appropriate height for the bar-were on order. In our room, 610, the 1/2 restroom door opened inward. Therefore it was hard to close the door while inside the restroom. CAUTION: I hit my toe twice on the door stopper located in front of the toilet. Use caution if using the toilet in the middle of the night. I called the front desk for luggage service at checkout time. Bellboy never showed up!

10,0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the peace and quiet atmosphere. This is an excellent place to relax outside on the balcony and to enjoy the wonderful weather in Ensenada. Our room had a great view of the ocean. Great breakfast thanks to Sra. Marta. It was delicious!
Cons: It was fine with me not having television in the room, but my partner was missing watching tv before going to sleep. It was Ok though, there is hardly any time to watch television since there is a lot to see in the city.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The double-room was spacious, the beds comfortable. The view outside was beautiful. The owner and staff were courteous. Breakfast was delicious!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very attentive staff, Martha is just wonderful. The owner Santiago is very hospitable and knowledgeable of places of interest.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: It was off the main streets and of the hustle and noice of el centro. The perfect place to unwind and really relax. Very serene atmosphere. Yet the surroundings make you feel at home. I have to mention the wonderful and pleasant Sra Martha Isabel. She made us feel welcomed the minute we set foot on the property. She has the most wonderful smile and her breakfast the next morning was fabulous. She began by serving fresh coffee with pastries and fruit. Followed by made to order fresh/home made breakfast. Her chilaquiles and sunny side eggs were delicious. Thank you Sra Martha!
Cons: There was nothing we disliked.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I really liked the hacienda style of the house, the view from the room was beautiful, woke up listening to the birds singing (beautiful), breakfast in the porch right outside our room with the view of the ocean in the background (awesome), and “Doña Martha’s” breakfast (coffee, orange juice, fresh fruit, chilaquiles, beans, eggs, sweet bread) OMG...Delicious!!!
Cons: Everything was nice, I just didn’t expect the entrance of the property is just a dirt road on the left side and the hacienda is on top of a hill, but let me tell you that without that hill you probably couldn’t have the awesome ocean view.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel right on the water. Hotel staff was excellent. Clean & comfortable room.
Cons: I had gotten a junior suite. The only downside was the room didn’t have a refrigerator which would have been nice
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great location and staff. Beautiful views and helpful and kind staff members. We have referred friends to this hotel over the last 20 years plus. And will continue to do so. And we are glad we finally came back!
Cons: The room was well kept but it appears that furnishings are missing. For instance there is no small refrigerator in the cabinet dresser. There is the space for a small refrigerator. It was empty and there is no question that a refrigerator normally should be installed there. A refrigerator is a must for travelers. There also was an empty space in the room itself. Just tile floor where there should be a couch or some other piece of furniture. The room did not have the feel of a Minimalist simple decor. It felt too empty and unfurnished. The room can look better than it does for comfort and enjoyment. Thank you.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very clean. Amazing ocean view. Dinner at restaurant was delicious, staff is very attentive and courtious.
7,1 Good
Cons: The property has beautiful views of the bay, rocks and crashing waves. The property was clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, the traffic noise is almost unbearable when in the room at night. My suggestion would be to install heavy exterior entrance doors and change the glass out above tge doors to dual pane glass.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The view , was great. Sun set from the pool , fabulous.
Cons: Everything was great
7,9 Good
Pros: The staff was excellent

Hotel Cortez - Ensenada - Building
5
8,7 Excellent (1 678 reviews)
R1 561+
Overview Reviews
A stay at Hotel Cortez places you in the heart of Ensenada, within a 5-minute walk of Ensanada History Museum and Riviera Cultural Center. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Limited parking is available onsite.
8,5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was really clean, you can smell the chlorine while the rooms and the hotel are being cleaned. The staff is friendly and the hotel is walking distance from most touristic attractions. However, if if you want to avoid large crowds and loud tourists, do yourself a favor and pay the extra $$$ to stay at Coral or Lucerna. It doesn’t matter how clean and how amazing the staff is if you can hear every single thing other guests do from throwing up and crying to having an argument.
Cons: The walls in the hotel are paper thin! I mean it! So when people are talking it feels like they’re in your room and you can really hear other guests businesses. In our case, we were soundly asleep until a couple showed up very intoxicated to the room next to ours slamming their door and just speaking really loudly. We were able to hear the girl throw up, cry, and then argue with the guy right from our room. We turned the TV on to try to disguise the sound a little bit but it still didn’t help. Also, you can hear the people talking on the hallways!!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are nice and spacious.
Cons: Parking is limited inside the garage.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff and hotel is near the best of Ensenada.
Cons: Construction noises in the morning.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Private parking and kiness
Cons: Very clean and comfortable
7,9 Good
Pros: The decorations and the rooms. Small but very comfy.
Cons: You could hear everything from outside your room. The hallways.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was great and it's in the perfect location to get to shopping downtown and the marina. The beds were comfortable room and bathroom was spacious. On-site parking in a secured parking garage is a great bonus.
2,9 Mediocre
Cons: Where should I begin. The staff was absolutely terrible. No customer service skills at all! We arrived very late from a funeral viewing so the gentleman that was in the parking structure advised they had no more parking but to park on one of the curbs inside of the structure he assured us that it was absolutely fine and that he parks guests there all the time. Being that we were so exhausted and we had our children and mind you it was about 3am we agreed. 6am comes around as we are sound a sleep the front desk calls that we need to move our car. Are you kidding me why would you have us Park there and then wake us up 3 hours later to move our vehicle from the spot you had us park in to begin with. My husband of course got up and moved the car. Fast forward another hour later to 7am phone rings again saying that I needed to go to the front desk because they forgot to get a signature from me. Are you joking? Who does that? Why not wait until we check out? You obviously are seeing the time of arrival in your system and yet you want to wake us up not once but twice? I completely ignored them and went back to sleep. 12pm checkout time came around and we wanted to let the front desk staff know how frustrated we were and that in the future they should really be more considerate of when guests are sleeping and acknowledging their arrival times. The girl at the front desk totally shrugged us off no apology no response to our frustration she just stated in Spanish “ okay you are all set for checkout” Are you kidding me? At least address our concerns lady!! RUDE RUDE RUDE! I will Never stay at this place again! Rating is a 0 from me.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Pool
Cons: TV No English Channels lol
9,7 Excellent
Cons: everything great accept noise. doors slamming. bad ecos

Pros: It was nice and authentic
Cons: No complaints
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Room service was great. Security Armando was very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast and restaurant was great. Parking was not a problem. overall we had a great time.
Cons: Can't think of nothing.
6,3 Good
Pros: Location was great.
Cons: I don't know if it I misread the fine print, but when they stated free breakfast it only included breakfast for 2 and so when I asked for a coupon for my almost 2 year old I was told it only included breakfast for 2. Also the free breaksfast options were only 3: chilaquiles, Oatmeal, or pancakes. Also some of the bedding was stained, not dirty (I hope), but the stains made you question the cleanliness. Another thing the shower was very tight and small! I tried showering with my baby and I kept hitting myself on the wall. Same thing happened to my husband when he showered alone.
7,1 Good
Pros: Clean rooms
Cons: A lot of hair and dirt in the jacuzzi
10,0 Excellent
Pros: EVERYTHING the bartender lady was very politely out going and smiling all time.
Cons: we had problems with a.c.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location just one block from the harbor front with everything you want in walking distance, yet far enough away from the noisy clubs. Breakfast in a nice restaurant just around the corner, where you get to pick from 4 dishes (eggs+beans, chilaquiles, pancakes, or oatmeal) or – alternatively – 50MXN off a menu item. Parking is secure and convenient. The small pool is nice.
Cons: Bathroom was a little small (but not too tight for 2 people). We would have liked a fly screen to keep a window open at night (instead of A/C).
7,9 Good
Pros: Quick check-in. Breakfast was the highlight! Received fresh towels, still warm from the laundry.
Cons: They forgot the complimentary drink (AGAIN), which they advertise and don't give. Might as well scratch it off their page. They just went through the payment process. The room was tidy, but not completely clean. Floor needed attention (a good sweeping and mop). Pillows needed a wash. In general= Service did deteriorate.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect. The pool and spa looked very clean. The breakfast was better than I expected.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Good price, great location, free parking included
Cons: WIFI was only so-so
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Margaritas are very good!!!
7,5 Good
Cons: Very noisy. The rooms lead directly onto the carpark and other common areas, so you hear lots of noise from other guests arriving, leaving, making phone calls, or just hanging out. The Wifi is terrible slow.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome customer service
Cons: The driveway need attention

8,3 Excellent
Pros: The location and staff at this hotel were great. The rooms, for a family, aren’t spacious and a refrigerator in the room would be great, other than that the rooms were great.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous views, beautiful property. Quiet, clean safe and secure.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place, good restaurant on site and friendly and accommodating staff, we were pleasantly surprised. It’s a closed site feels very save but not very adventurous ;-)
5,0 Okay
Cons: There was a dumpster outside my window balcony. The room was so cold even with the low budget heater. No iron
4,6 Okay
Pros: The location, on the Northern Baja Pacific Coast, is stunning. The setting is peaceful and tranquil. The hotel could be nice, if they took some care to upgrade the rooms and maintain them well. The bed was comfortable enough, but that's about it - all the other furniture was old, sagging, dated, dingy, and uncomfortable. They do give you two big bottles of water, which is nice. And you can make coffee in the room, also nice.
Cons: The hotel rooms are very dated. The bathrooms feel original to the 1980's construction and haven't been touched except paint, which was sloppily applied. There is rust and oxidation on everything. Things are broken all over the room, especially the bathroom. I've stayed in youth hostels with better bathrooms - not even kidding. There was a half-empty beer in my room when I went in - so I guess the management doesn't check the rooms before issuing them to guests (made me question if it was even cleaned). The air conditioning/heating systems look like they were installed in the 1980s - they are very loud and don't really work too well. I didn't have artwork on the wall of my room - just a nail on the white wall where artwork once hung. Neither of my bedside lamps worked - not even lightbulbs in them (wow). The The "Jr. Suite" is a complete ripoff - not even a television in the main room, and I've seen better and more modern kitchenettes in a college fraternity (not even kidding). Don't waste your money for a Jr. Suite, I really felt ripped off for taking that "upgrade." The doors to the hotel rooms are cheap hollow core doors, so you hear everything outside and you don't feel very secure. In fact, they give you a metal key - a metal key! I haven't stayed at a hotel with a metal key since the 1980s. Also, they stamp the room number of your key, so you better not lose it, of you might have everything stolen. The restaurant has been moved to the bar, so yes, it felt like you were eating in a bar, not a restaurant. The whole property is just dated and tired. Light fixtures are broken and hanging by a thread (dangerous). You can do much better in Ensenada for the same price. I'm sorry to say, because this place has SO much potential, but it's just tired. They need to close it, gut it, and modernize it. But that's not likely going to happen.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great relaxed location. Rooms are gigantic. The property style is a beautiful California Hacienda in all the details. Staff is most attentive. The restaurant is superb! Chef Cesar Cortez put together an exquisite menu that includes fish, red meat, seafood and chicken. We tried all the dishes during our stay and was disappointed at none! My favorites if you can only go once were the calamari for starters and the lenguado for the main dish but I highly recommend going several times in your stay and try them all. We went in winter time but the restaurant fires up the fireplace upon request and they also closed partially the doors to keep it warm. Restaurant has a beautiful mirador on top. Every day we walked around the property for exercising and it was fun. Of course if you like golfing (we didn’t) it’s a paradise. You literally don’t need to leave the grounds for a fun vacation. We even used the solarium by the pool as the days were sunny. This hotel was the highlight of our valle de Guadalupe trip
Cons: A very minor detail, but The restaurant manager could do a better job in keeping it warm by closing the doors and firing up the fireplace before guests bring it up. the venue felt cold in the evenings. Other than that I honestly can’t find any room for improvement
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Room and service
8,0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoy the location. W wish to purchase a house but they are getting too expensive. Same for the 4 couples that went with us.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful spot great golf lovely scenery and very quiet.
Cons: The heater didn't work well
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Overall experience.
Cons: Staff erroneously ordered an extra rivets n the bill was 160 usd for 2 adults and an 8 years old boy. 10 dollars for tequila shot was too much.

2,5 Mediocre
Cons: Super small rooms. Shower drain not working.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The backyard with the view if you have a room in front of the beach.
Cons: No beach, only rocks. The beach pictures were deceiving. They must of been outdated from 10 years or taken elsewhere.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was quiet and secure!!!!
Cons: It would have been nice if they had an ice machine. Also it would have nice if the WI-FI was upgraded.
5,0 Okay
Cons: False advertisement. Money was not worth the location. Room was extremely small . No refrigerator or microwave . Would not stay there ever again
8,8 Excellent
Pros: I liked that it had a private driveway, with a secure entry. Cameras on site. Close to the water. The room was super cute little getaway. With a small kitchen, the front desk guy was super nice. We quickly checked in and went in. The place has a bbq area located in the back, also has a backyard patio. The room had AC and WiFi. The ac was great, the room got extremely cold. Refrigerator, plates, cups, microwave, gas stove and sink. Really homey. Parking to your room is right in front of your room.
Cons: The only thing that was strange was we had to give a ten dollar deposit for the remotes - for the ac and tv. The television was about a 32” and just seemed small.
5,1 Okay
Pros: Beds were comfortable
Cons: Staff took a very long time to check people in. They didn't greet us nor apologize for the wait
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Nice clean and quiet. Family friendly and safe. The location is great, you can find dinner options at walking distance. If you have kids, visit La cañada water park, it is great option for kids
Cons: I expected to have nice beach.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Easy to park a truck pulling a cargo trailer and also gated for safety. It's a short walk to Stella's for a full meal or pizza.

Cons: Totally surprised to find mosquitos all over. What the heck? Turns out it's located right next to an inlet where mosquitos nest. And they're aggressive and all over. From beach to the restaurant to the pool and my room. I had to kill 5 in my room and they were filled with blood. Massive unlike. If you're paranoid about mosquito diseases, maybe not the best place.

Cons: We arrived early and they didn't have a room for us and after we went back they still took ther sweet time to get us a room. The wifi did not work at all and they just kept making excuses for it and I had to work from my computer so we eneded cutting our trip short from two nights to just one.

Pros: Better than sleeping in the car. Cleanness ok
Cons: The room had problem with flow of hot water. Some lights were not working. Only one hand towel for four guests. Restaurant closed at 10pm on a Saturday night. NO room service available. Weak wifi.... cutting all the time.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: My favorite part about the room was the balcony had a great balcony view of the ocean & the room was pretty spacious just as requested couldn't complain the nights we stayed there half of the time we where on the strip the other best part about it is that it's near all the location where you wanna go to literally 3 to 5 mins away from everything.
Cons: The only thing I didn't like was that that there television didn't work it was a small Oldschool tv I would say that's the only thing they need to upgrade make sure everything works before they hand the keys.

Pros: Price was really good - in area for a large event. Most others booked. Rear gate lock at night. No t fancy - does the job for good rest at night. Super Market in walking distance. Stellas across the street has great food, great prices. Every thing worked in room - all older.
Cons: Would have used hot tub - still not working -did not work on a stay a year ago. Maybe they should remove from property listing? Long stairway/isle if you stay up top near office.

Pros: Nothing
Cons: The location is not within walking distance to the beach, you have to cross 6 line highway and there is no way to get to the beach. Pros: At first glance this hotel is not the nicest, however our room was very modern and clean. Sheets and restroom was clean. That was my main concern. And you can’t go wrong with the price. We will definitely be staying at this hotel again next time we’re in this area. Very convenient location.
4,2 Okay
Pros: LOCATION WAS GOOD, ROOM WAS CLEAN
Cons: ROOM TOO OLD, LAVATORY HAD A LIKING , FOR THE PRICE AT LEAST SHOULD HAVE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST, BECAUSE OF THE LOCATION NEXT TO THE HIGHWAY IT WAS TOO NOISY, ON TOP OF THAT , WE FORGOT OUR CELL PHONES CHARGERS ON THE WALL OUTLET AND WE CALL THE HOTEL AS SOON WE NOTICED AND THEY SAID THAT THEY DID NOT FIND THEM IN THE ROOM, BUT ALSO, THEY ARE NOT RESPONSABLE FOR FORGOTTEN ITEMS. REALLY? WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THAT ? WE ARE NOT PLANNING TO STAY THERE ANYMORE.

Cons: We walked in and there were spiders on curtains.
