We enjoy the location. W wish to purchase a house but they are getting too expensive. Same for the 4 couples that went with us.
We love the hotel. The staff always willing to serve and help us. Best time spent, talking with front desk and restaurant. Food not so good.
Everything! We were there during the week and got vip treatment.
Nothing, it was so much more than we expected. We had no problems.
The location, on the Northern Baja Pacific Coast, is stunning. The setting is peaceful and tranquil. The hotel could be nice, if they took some care to upgrade the rooms and maintain them well. The bed was comfortable enough, but that's about it - all the other furniture was old, sagging, dated, dingy, and uncomfortable. They do give you two big bottles of water, which is nice. And you can make coffee in the room, also nice.
The hotel rooms are very dated. The bathrooms feel original to the 1980's construction and haven't been touched except paint, which was sloppily applied. There is rust and oxidation on everything. Things are broken all over the room, especially the bathroom. I've stayed in youth hostels with better bathrooms - not even kidding. There was a half-empty beer in my room when I went in - so I guess the management doesn't check the rooms before issuing them to guests (made me question if it was even cleaned). The air conditioning/heating systems look like they were installed in the 1980s - they are very loud and don't really work too well. I didn't have artwork on the wall of my room - just a nail on the white wall where artwork once hung. Neither of my bedside lamps worked - not even lightbulbs in them (wow). The The "Jr. Suite" is a complete ripoff - not even a television in the main room, and I've seen better and more modern kitchenettes in a college fraternity (not even kidding). Don't waste your money for a Jr. Suite, I really felt ripped off for taking that "upgrade." The doors to the hotel rooms are cheap hollow core doors, so you hear everything outside and you don't feel very secure. In fact, they give you a metal key - a metal key! I haven't stayed at a hotel with a metal key since the 1980s. Also, they stamp the room number of your key, so you better not lose it, of you might have everything stolen. The restaurant has been moved to the bar, so yes, it felt like you were eating in a bar, not a restaurant. The whole property is just dated and tired. Light fixtures are broken and hanging by a thread (dangerous). You can do much better in Ensenada for the same price. I'm sorry to say, because this place has SO much potential, but it's just tired. They need to close it, gut it, and modernize it. But that's not likely going to happen.
They need to remodel the rooms, and teach the staff how to please the guessts.
Very nice place..
