Senátor Ház is one of the oldest houses in the city and has the owner has collected many fine old antiquities on display in the hotel. My single room was cosy, clean and comfortable. They were very helpful at the reception desk advising the best communication to Budapest. Breakfast was wonderful with a great "tejbegriz" (porridge).
No elevator, but the receptionist helsps everyone to bring up their luggages.
Perfect location, very pleasant and familiary personal, super service, parking possibility.
Excellent staff, great location, comfortable room.
Peter and the other staff members were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good with a nice selection of central-European items. Hotel comped us dinner on the first night to make up for not being able to accommodate us (see below).
When we arrived we were told that the two rooms we'd reserved months in advance were unavailable because of some "problem." Hotel put us up in another property of theirs a few blocks away which had apartment-style rooms (mini kitchen). Those rooms were fine, but not the "cozy, old-world charm right on the square" atmosphere that we were hoping for.
We did not stay in the hotel but rather in an adjacent building that was quiet and reasonably comfortable. The location is really fantastic, though, and you can not only walk to all the sights but see them from your door.
A stay at Senator-Ház places you in the heart of Eger, within a 5-minute walk of Kopcsik Marzipan Museum and Eger Minaret. Featured amenities include a business center and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
