Overview

In Dumas, the Best Western Windsor Inn, Dumas, Texas, is a comfortable Panhandle base, with clean, comfortable rooms, exterior access for easy loading, free Wi-Fi, and a free full hot breakfast with waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, and Arabica coffee. The hotel welcomes pets. The setting puts a golf course, a regional hospital, and Highway 287 close by, with the wide-open plains of the northern Panhandle all around. A Mexican Independence celebration and a local festival headline the calendar, and Amarillo and its painted canyons are a short drive to the south. Dumas sits on the high plains of the Texas Panhandle north of Amarillo, a friendly farming and ranching town along Highway 287. Wheat fields and feedlots of Moore County stretch to the horizon around town, the long-running Dogie Days festival fills the calendar with small-town fun, and the canyons and lakes of the wider Panhandle lie within a scenic drive.
