The mirror was very small and only one in the bathroom which was dark. I didn't like the pillows. The gym was under maintenance at the peak season which really wasn't nice

Pros: Location is excellent! Only few minutes walk to Lake Como. Mario was very helpful and very nice. There’s a garage to park our car and it cost us only €13 per day. Plenty of restaurants & bar just outside the apartment and Como Cathedral and the Funicalore is about 7 minutes walk. Continental breakfast buffet was great. Lots of selections and plenty of fresh fruits! Highly recommended.

Cons: Shower curtain can be replaced with something more sealed to stop splashing water outside the shower tray.

Cons: .... but the service in the adjacent Restaurant is a nightmare, we left after 35 min. For a start, after 10 min sitting at our alloted seats, we were eventually able to place our order for the aperitifs prior to dinner. Within the next 25 minutes the staff wasn’t able to prepare and deliver two simple Negronis and a bottle of Water. I believe it’s still under preparation. I complained abt it at the waiter and the Hotel but never received a feedback nor an apology

Pros: I loved the actual building and the fact that all the rooms were different. It felt as if you were living with a family. Looking out of our bedroom window was like an eye on true Italy. I would certainly go back Delightful host and hostess.

Cons: The Attitude of the staff, (especially the women) at the reception was absolutely horrible. There was no concept of a concierge and we were guided wrongly. Other hotels in Italy (Milan and Rome) had fantastic people, the whole attitude and behaviour of the staff at the Palace hotel sucked big time! Will never go there again inspite of the wonderful location. We stayed at other properties in Milan and Rome and had fantastic experiences there with the Staff - this place was NOT GOOD.

Pros: Our room was very modern and tastefully finished, almost cottage-style with a brick wall. Comfortable bed and mini-bar added to the good feeling. The bathroom was ultra-modern. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was acceptable.

Cons: We had booked a parking space, thinking it was going to be in a carpark of some sort. Actually it was simply a space on the busy street outside the hotel. Better than nothing, but a little misleading. The bathroom unfortunately had a glass door, and there was one clear glass panel around the shower, meaning having a shower resulted in a partly wet floor.

Pros: One of the friendliest hotels I have stayed in which was surprising for an American chain hotel!! Waiting staff in the restaurants are particularly wonderful. I am gluten intolerant and the staff not only ensured I was catered for but went the extra mile to recommend "special treats" that I could have, knowing I had struggled in Italy (the land of pasta and pizza!) To find anything suitable to eat. Facilities and rooms are very clean and the pool area is wonderful. Looking at some of the other hotels on lake como, honestly this is the smartest and cleanest of the bunch in its price bracket. To those concerned about the location, we very much preferred being out of the tourist spots, you are very close to the ferry at tavernola which can take you all around the lake and there are some great bars and restaurants heading towards como that are all walkable from the hotel. However, we preferred to do drinks in day in the lake towns as wine is very cheap (and you have the views) and then stay at hotel on the night as the bars and restaurants are wonderful and to be honest, that tired after exploring como I didnt want to walk around a town.

There was only one bathroom, no washing machine and the air-conditioning in the loft bedroom leaked into my luggage and ruined some of my items. The staff were great, but I would never stay here again.

The air conditioner is a portable with an exhaust tube out the wall and is so noisy it drowns out the 30 cm mini flat screen tv!Asked for mould to be cleaned but they didn’t so I showered in my flip flops!Hostess (Pamela) was absolutely no help,needing retraining or deployment to a position where there’s no people contact.

Pros: Very convenient place. Center of como yet affordable price. You get plenty hot water for shower. Also roof top breakfast with view of the lake.

Cons: No elevator. But the kind staff will carry for you. Inside dining needs to get tidied up. A bit messy.

Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful and the hotel was located at a reasonable distance to various famous villas, half-way between the villages of Lenno and Tremezzo. The parking facilities were good.

Cons: The breakfast was quite underwhelming. Walking from the hotel to either direction involved braving the mad Italian traffic on a very narrow road until the lakeside boulevard started. I also happened to get probably the worst room in the hotel, with a view of the fairly loud air conditioning machinery and the mountains (instead of a nice lake view).

Ridiculous to only be able to charge city tax in cash, while the room is payable by card. What if people do not have cash on them at the time of check-out? Located in an area where there is no dedicated pedestrian path along the road. Quite a thrill walking back to the hotel at night...

Cons: The Ladies in the Restaurant during the Breakfast were very stressed and one of them rude.As we sat next to a Table which we did not know that it was supposed to Be for the dinner she came shouting to us in Italian and she demanded to take all our food and coffes and move to another table immediately!!! Very poor Breakfast and bad quality. The Hotel is very far away from Como City Center and the buses need ca.30min to get there. Despite its a village we couldnt sleep because of the noise of the cars!

Pros: Friendly staff, clean and quiet room, very good location, close to major tourist attractions, close to the railway station (10 min walk), 5 min to the lake, a lot of restaurants around, small shops, Carrefour.

Pros: Hotel was close to the centre of Como. Rooms were clean, the water was hot and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was spot on with plenty of choice. No complaints about the hotel at all.

Pros: The hotel is a seven minute walk from Como San Giovanni railway station which is very convenient. It is also located near the main places - restaurants, sightseeing, pier, supermarkets, etc.

Cons: nothing major but would be great to have a complimentary bottle water in the room.

Pros: Most important, the staff was very helpful and friendly. Juan, one of the persons in charge speaks Spanish. The property is located very close to the city center and the Marina, so you can just park the car and go walking. They arranged us a parking spot with no extra cost. There's a 24/7 supermarket in the vicinity. The apartment we got has 2 rooms with 2 bathrooms and was very quiet and comfortable.

Cons: Bed extremely Uncomfortable: Probably very old with steel layers inside that you feel in your back. Impossible to sleep ... The reception told me no other options possible. Bed was clean though. Very noisy: Hotel is on a big road with noise all night long and despite quality windows. Very small breakfast. You need to ask for everything as it is not a buffett. Very small quantities.

Pros: This hotel was nice and close to the train station which was great when carrying heavy bags. It was only a short walk into the town city where there was great food and drinks.

Pros: The location is outstanding minutes walking distance to the funicular, waterfront, duomo, IN the historic center. For me 2 items were very important: it had to be in the historic center, it had to have parking. We parked at the hotel.

Cons: Well, because the hotel is in the historic center, one has to be careful to find the property. Thanks to the GPS we arrived w/o problems.
