-be careful with rooms facing the Koln Dom as, while they may have tripple glazing, they are facing a busy part of the City where on Saturday and even Sunday night noise from music and singing drunks was to be heard on the 8th floor until 3/4 a.m. -Staff twice interrupted a call by obnoxious knocking on my door when the DND sign was on my door. The second time to ask to remove the DND sign....

The hotel ambience was nice, and with a great bar for some drinks.
When we arrived they were overbooked and didn’t have the correct room for us. We spent one night in a room that was on 1st floor, and was very noisy (we could hear the neighbors rooms and the exteriors all night) which was uncomfortable and no resting time for sure. At least the last night when we passed to the booked room, was way much better (was possible to enjoy/relax a little more in the room)

Nice hotel, confortable rooms and exceptional breakfas - but the customer service at the reception - it spoiled everything.
The customer service is arrogant, unprofessional and horrendous. A simple request concerning the invoice/receipt that is completely normal and standard at Hilton, NH Hotels, Holiday Inn, Mercure, etc. etc. throughout Germany is "impossible" at Steigenberger. The only reason given to the customer is "Steigenberger policy". What a joke! No interest to fix it, no manners, no idea on how to handle customers. The rude, arrogant, impolite customer service at check-out spoiled everything. And the simple problem was never solved - because Steigenberger does not care. I would definitely never stay at any Steigenberger hotel ever again.
