No fridge in the room
The location of the hotel is excellent and at walking distance to major attractions in the historical center. The staff were helpful and very kind, no objection at all. Decent breakfast. WiFi connection and speed adequate. Airconditioning worked as it should. There are a couple of (cheap) restaurants on the same street right next door.
Breakfast was decent, but really nothing to write home about (few choices coupled to zero day-to-dayvariety), and they haven't heard of having salt&pepper available anywhere (this actually seemed to be endemic to all Portugal eateries that I have visited, rally strange). The room I was staying in was tiny. As a consequence: barely adequately big bathroom with minuscule sink. No wardrobe, no desk, no chair. therefore if you need to work, you have to do it on the bed! There was only one power outlet in the room beside the two for bed lights. No safe box or refrigerator in the room either. Since I was alone and stayed only for 4 nights it was OK, but for a couple staying in this double-bed room it would be crowded and if you need to do any serious amount of work - look elsewhere.
Great location with easy stroll and cafes along the way to old town. Quiet spot, super helpful staff who spoke excellent English.Couldn't have been happier.
The host was most welcoming and helpful. He gave us tips on what to see and how to get around the city. We had booked for 2 nights only but decided to stay 2 more nights. He was able to find us accommodation even though the hotel was very busy. There are great eating places nearby . Don't miss the ice cream creations at Novalis. To die for! The €5 for breakfast is well worth it. There is great vRiety and the food is fresh. Enjoyed the street scene outside our window on Sunday when the street is closed to vehicles ...but not to bikes, roller blades, etc. Good sound proof windows and black out curtains. There is an elevator which is welcomed even when you have even minimal luggage. We would stay here again and recommend you do!
Everything was great except we found the room lacking in storage space. A chair and a small desk would nice. Guests have the use of a fabulous living room on the lower floor which we used often. If the weather permits there is also a very nice and private patio area off the living room.
The breakfast was great. In addition to that the location was very convenient, just ten minutes away from the city's centre.
