Overview

Out on the high plains of eastern New Mexico, the SureStay Plus by Best Western Cannon A.F.B. makes a comfortable base in Clovis, New Mexico, a railroad town near the gates of Cannon Air Force Base. Clovis carries a deep history. The Blackwater Draw site nearby gave its name to the Clovis culture, the ancient Paleo-Indian people whose distinctive spear points were first unearthed here, and the Blackwater Draw Museum tells that story. Downtown, the Clovis Depot Model Train Museum honors the rail heritage, the Norman and Vi Petty Rock and Roll Museum recalls the town's recording past, and the Curry County Events Center hosts rodeos and concerts. Each room and suite includes a desk, a microwave, and a flat-screen television, with select kitchenette suites for longer stays, and a free breakfast opens the day. A fitness center, a seasonal outdoor pool, and guest laundry round out the stay, and the hotel welcomes pets. Here where the first spear points were found, Clovis keeps the deep past close.
