Less extortionate prices quoted for taxi services. We were quoted 4 times the standard price for a car service, and staff were unable to help with a more affordable option. That left us to fend for ourselves...and walk out to the street to hail an auto rickshaw or taxi whenever we wanted to go out...not a big inconvenience unless it was raining. When we needed to go to the airport for our flight home, the concierge quoted an extortionate price for a car, to which I responded somewhat angrily that I would get one from the street rather than pay it, he offered to call me a car, which took at least 20 minutes to arrive, and when it did it was tiny and very worn out...almost like he’d chosen the cheapest option in order to punish us. For a slightly higher sum we would have had a far better experience leaving the hotel, and this scathing criticism would not have been required. Excellent in every other way, except for the compromised concierge and front desk policy designed to extort more money from guests without the courtesy of providing good options. Shameful...
