For some reason I was not in the AVIS system. What I found on Kayak and THOUGHT i booked for approx $700 ended up a standard rental that I had to book at the last moment at the counter for $1297. I have no idea why this Kayak reservation did not go through. I suspect I never received any confirmation other than a mobile text when I booked it. I see the airline ticket and hotel were done around 6/7. Any way I can be credited some of this EXPENSIVE rental?

Avis was fantastic, staff were friendly and helpful. Easy shuttle to and from terminal.

Terribly understaffed, one agent with more than 20 customers waiting more than an hour. Confusion about cars, cars missing keys, awful service.Everything.

Very friendly and helpful! My problem is with Priceline. They scheduled this at a downtown location, which after I got off the airplane had no way to get to before closing. System shouldn’t have allowed. I selected BDL airport and couldn’t have known what street the car rental places are. Avis worked with me but airport fees made the care over $100 more. I won’t be ordering from Priceline again. I will order from Avis directly. They are great.See above.

The convenience and service I received at the time of pick-up and drop-off. Easy and seamless.I have never rented from Avis before but I have rented a car with other companies prior to this experience. I expected the Avis employee to walk with me to the vehicle and inspect the vehicle prior to me leaving with the vehicle. That did not happen. I was handed the keys and told I was all set. I walked to the car and noticed that it was dirty inside, leftover papers in the trunk and wrappers in the back door. About half way through my 750 mile commute I received a maintenance required notification on the dashboard for the rear seatbelts. I didn’t use the rear seat belts at all during my trip. The notification continued to prompt every time I would start the car. Just didn’t make me feel safe that all services/recalls weren’t serviced prior to letting a customer take the vehicle as a rental, especially with my lengthy trip.

A tale of two locationsSo I mistakenly thought I booked the car for the Avis location close to the airport. Took the Avis shuttle from airport to their facility, and when the agreement screen popped up, the price showed as being close to $600!! I showed the clerk my reservation, with the price I agreed to as being $136, and the clerk said “Oh, I see the problem. Your booking is with the downtown Avis location, not the airport location.” So I used a rideshare app to go the 20 minutes to the proper facility, and got the price I was promised. But - are you freaking KIDDING ME? It costs 4 times as much for the same car, with the same company, if you rent it from the airport location instead? price gouging, anyone??? On the plus side, once I was at the proper location, the transaction was very smooth and the clerk very helpful

Car was dirty outside because of the snow maybe. Smelled not good in the inside. Dispatcher rough. Charged 33 dollars for half our extra. Nobody at the front desk so you need to wait or giving a call to him Tank was not completely full but they charge 9+ dollars a gallon if you do not filled up.
