Avis rep charged me a price that was completely different from the amount I had booked and told me there was nothing they could do about it since it was already closed out.. Now I have to deal with it at the end of my vacation. Awful just down right shady .

I was unable to pick up my car. There was a line I’ve over 100 people waiting for Avis pick up and I didn’t have time to wait. It was the only rental agency with this kind of line. As a result I will not be using Kayak or Avis ever again.

Drop off was great. I would’ve given them a top rating on all if not for the horrible check in clerk. The man who finally checked me in was great & I was very happy with my “mystery car” but the first clerk not only ignored me even when I tried to speak to her, she stepped back & didn’t even acknowledge my presence. She made what would have been the best rental experience into an “okay” one

Inappropriate information by the budget agent. Unnecessarily charging customers for fuel, and extra hours if you are late from the return time. I made booking through Costco but they charged me extra 300 USD on top of my Costco booking. 1. I was 3 hours late to return the car. I did inquire at the time of pick up, budget agent said it is fine as you are returning the car same day. Wrong info 2. I dropped the car with full fuel and showed that to agent at drop off. In final bill, I found budget charged me 30 USD fueling charges, that’s wierd

They didn't even have the car we rented or a full size sedan! They charged me more for a compact size car than the full size sedan I normally rented. Definitely won't rent again through budget.

I was passed my time to return the car, so i called them in advance to let them know and a lady over the phone told me that was and no extra charge for the first hour however, when i returned it they charged me for the two hours instead of one hour as promised.

Drop off was terrible. The Thrifty counter was closed. All signs pointed us towards the counter which was closed and barricaded. Ourselves and other Thrifty customers were wondering what to do and were circling the location creating a traffic jam. Finally, we asked someone at Hertz and they said all Thrifty customers were supposed to return to the Hertz counter. A simple printout or signage could have helped us and avoid the traffic jam. Terrible customer experience.

I called several days in advance and was told all was confirmed (after booking months in advance). I arrived at the pickup, only to be told they didn't have the minivan I reserved. They proceeded to say that the 3rd party sites didn't communicate well with Enterprise and hinted that I should have booked direct. I showed them my confirmation that had their logo and address while they attempted to get me to accept a 4-5 passenger small SUV. I was transporting part of a team, so that wouldn't work. They said to come back the next day because there were no minivans in the city...even though I had reserved one. So I drove the 25 minutes home and 25 minutes back the following morning. They found and cleaned one (great!) and attempted to charge me nearly double (not great!). Fortunately I caught it, and all ended well. Was just a HUGE hassle and delay, mixed with 3 employees not seeming to know what was going on.

I went through Kayak and rented the car through Hotwire. You expect the customer service for a company to be experts at what they do. They were not in this case. My delta flight to Portland was an hour late which put me outside of my pick up time at Enterprise. I called Hotwire customer service and was told I would have to rebook my rental car. This was after they contacted Enterprise on my behalf. 15 minutes later after my rental with Enterprise was cancelled, my daughter found that they have a policy of waiting 2 hours after close for delayed flights. It cost me an extra $500 to rebook my rental. To say I am upset would be an understatement. I expect that either Kayak or Hotwire will reimburse me for the added cost.

Easy pickup and the service desk guy was friendly and informative about the area where we were going. They were able to get the car early as our airline had changed our arrival time at the last minute.We came an hour early from our pickup time and had to wait a 15 minutes or so to get the minivan as it was upstairs. The driver was not the friendliest.

Drop off was easy because they were closed and all I did was drop the keys in a drop box.They had no cars available. They told me to go to the airport location to get a car. The airport location had no cars and said even if they did, they couldn’t honor a reservation for another location.

Nothing positive- I took a taxi to the location after booking and there were zero vehicles. I had booked an SUV, but they said they hadn’t had one returned in days.A vehicle onsite, an apology, or an attempt at a solution. The staff weren’t helpful in the least. Never renting from Hertz again :(

Misunderstanding multiple contractsThe service that the local office of Hertz provided us was outstanding, and the car was better than promised.We had three contracts in this transaction: One with Kayak, one with a car-rental website that I had never heard of, and finally, one with Hertz. We wanted to change the contract with Hertz so that my wife could also drive the rental car, so they cancelled their contract and proceeded to write a new one to include my wife. Unfortunately, that cancellation cost us $350 because it only cancelled one of the three contracts, and the other two were non-cancellable. We needed for the agent at Hertz to think through the process and realize that, with Kayak and the other agency involved, we wouldn't be able to alter the contract in any way without creating a new (additional) billing. The process cost us more than twice as much as expected.

They Changed the Price at the RegisterThey tried adding $130 for a 2 week rental for my Wife to also be a listed driver. It didn't go well after that. Went somewhere else and rented. Not sure if this was Kayak's problem or Hertz's but there's a few steps that need adjustment. Won't be using Kayak again - or Hertz until they get their stuff together.
