the staff was very helpful and pleasant at both the pick up and drop off.Cons:
the car windows were not clean inside and just rinsing off the outside of the whole car was not enough. not a deal breaker because I cleaned the windows and I didnt really care about the dried water drops outside the car.3,2 Poor

I ordered a midsize car. When I got to the rental office in Riverhead no one was at the desk. I called and called the phone and finally reached the attendant. He said he was outside. 30 minutes later he FINALLY appeared. Advised he only had a compact car. I had 4 passengers with luggage and struggled to get all in the car plus putting all that luggage in the small trunk. He advised me there were no other cars available So disappointed in the lack of customer service and lack of consideration for me the customer.9,2 Wonderful

Car did not have a gas cap. Gas was only at 5/8 level full. Took longer than it should have to return the vehicle.6,0 Okay

I was upgraded from full size to a small SUV .. Rav4 toyota which was a good upgrade... but...Cons:
But the gas mileage and 4cyl performance was less than my full size suv that I own. I put in 23 gallons to go 480 miles ... which is only 21 mpg... my full size Buick suv that rides much better and much roomier gets a easy 26 ( it is rated at 26mpg) mpg with two people and much more carge.... It was only me in this rental . Hertz advertisement shows a Equinox in the photo but the Equinox was not available .... I spent much more for gas than expected ... I would have liked the Equinox much better... or a full size Malibu.Avis

Pros:
It was close by and the price was good. I thought I was going to get a sedan as it said I would get a Camary or Sentra. I ended up with a Kia Soul. Not what I expected.Cons:
Hours on the Kayak and Budget website said the location was open until 7p. When I got there at 6:30p, the lights were out and doors locked. The sign on the door said open until 6p. It would have been nice if a representative from the location called to advise me because I needed to leave on a business trip at 6a the following morning and now didn't have a car as mine was in for repairs. I called Budget, who confirmed that that they had the site listed as open until 7p, to see if there were other Budget locations nearby that were opened late. They found another nearby but they had no cars available. He offered no further assistance. I called another Budget that was opened until 12a, but the number listed wasn't Budget, but an Avis that couldn't help. I went back to the original location at 730a when they opened. I explained the situation to the representative and didn't receive an apology. I also asked that since I'll be using the car for 13 hours less if the cost would be lower. It was still the same cost. Then when he gave me the paperwork to sign, the cost was higher. I made him correct it. When I got to the car, it was dirty on the outside (unwashed and dirt/mud stains all over it) and the interior wasn't that clean either. I guess the phrase 'you get what to pay for' applies here. Because of my 2 hour delayed start, I put me in rush hour traffic on the way home which turned my 4.5 hour drive into just shy of a 7 hour trip. I won't be using Budget any more. This was my first and last time with them. I typically use Enterprise, Dollar, Thrifty and Fox and have NEVER had a problem with them and typically get upgraded to the next higher category car for free.10,0 Wonderful
