  • Seoul is a sprawling metropolis that spans more than 605 square km. You’ll have a lot to explore, making car hire in Seoul an excellent option. Having your own wheels gives you the freedom to fully immerse yourself in the local culture by taking your time and delving into each of its 25 districts at your leisure. From the glitz and energy of Gangnam and Seocho to the historic streets and ancient architecture of Jung and Jongno, Seoul is a place to slow down and soak in the unique culture of South Korea.
  • Incheon International Airport (ICN) is the largest airport in South Korea. There are two terminals, both of which service international flights. The terminal you arrive at will depend on the airline you fly with. Terminal 2 was designed for SkyTeam Alliance airlines, which include Korean Air, Delta Air Lines and Air France, among others. Whichever terminal you arrive in, you will find conveniently placed Seoul car hire kiosks. In T1, these can be found near exits 2 and 13 of the arrivals area. In T2, the car hire companies are in the transportation center, which is just outside the arrivals area.
  • If you’re planning on arranging car hire in Seoul, you’ll need to present an international driving permit. It’s also important to remember, in South Korea, you’ll be driving on the right side of the road, not the left as you may be used to in Australia. This means you’ll overtake on the left and you’ll give way to the left at intersections and roundabouts. With this in mind, it’s a good idea to familiarise yourself with the local road rules before you touch down at Incheon Airport.

We tried to pick up the car a bit earlier than we said we would, which was apparently breaktime for the sales person. There was a number we could call, but we were told that he didn't speak English. It took a while for him to show up, but his explanations on the insurance policy, pickup and drop-off rules and road rules were excellent. The itinerary could use more instructions on how to reach the place though, it is actually located in a parking garage on floor B1!

Cons:

We rented the car for 6pm. Couldn't find the car rental office. There were no instructions online about location. What few signs we found inside the airport were incorrect as the airport resituated things for covid. Guess they didnt want to update their maps. The final kicker was the office closes at 6pm. When we arrived noone was there. Called the service number provided at the front desk only to hear the phone on that very desk start ringing. No car was rented. No service given. Called customer service, they were useless as well. Terrible service, will never rent from here again.
