The girl on the counter at albany airport went out ger way to help and sort of the mess left by the schenectedy branch. Cant praise her enough and would give her 6 stars if i could. I had to give three stars because of the poor experience at schenectedy she sorted out for me. Talking to her at drop off it appears other people had the same experience. Give this girl a promotion as without her my holiday would have been ruined.Cons:
Schenectedy hertz, arranged to pick up my ar on the 26th of december for a week, pick up time was half 12 but they failed to tell me they shut at 1 and would be shut for three days after that. Even when i phoned to clarify a couple of details the day before, was no mention of them closing 5 hours before every other hertz in new york state. I had to pay a little extra to pick my car up at albany because of this but was well worth it to not lose half my rental if albany hertz hadnt sorted this mess out. 5 stars to her, 1 star to schenectedy.3,6 Poor

Leave the pick up inside the airport and have someone deliver the cars to the door or have a golf cart to take the customer out to the car, it is very difficult dragging all your luggage out to a garage not knowing where your going. A handicapped person (me) will not do it again because I have bad legs and was so sore and tired when I finally got in the car I should not have been driving especially a car I’m not used to. And no there was nobody around to offer help just a sign saying go outside where our staff is working in a dark dingy shack !10,0 Wonderful

Drove 3 1/2 hours each way (NYC --> Albany) to drop off old rental and pick up a new one, then was told at counter that I needn't have made the drive in the first place and I could've just kept the original rental. --Car smelled of cigarettes. Was told to just write down the issue on my rental agreement. --Staff at counter was unable to be reached by phone a second time (and I called over 20 times). This became an issue when I had to extend my new rental. --Toll-free customer service was completely useless when I contacted them to voice my concerns. --In a word, Avis = terrible. I've been an Enterprise customer for 12 years, and I'm kicking myself for using Avis this time.6,0 Okay

Car was well equipped with blind spot detection, especially useful driving in Boston.Cons:
I had reserved a sedan but only SUVs and Mini-vans were available. When I said that I would not drive one of those types of vehicles, I was told that I would have to wait about half an hour. When I said that I would wait, within one minute a sedan was available. Interesting! This is similar to being seated at the worst table in a restaurant when there are no other people there.
