We rented a full-size SUV and received a Hyundai Santa Fe HTrack. I suggest buying the rental insurance. We were going to Tampa for a long weekend. There were MANY rock hauler dump trucks using I-75. The windshield of our vehicle was hit and cracked by a stone that bounced out of one of the rock haulers on I-75. Thankfully we had purchased the rental insurance so we had no additional obligation to Budget when we returned the vehicle. Be forewarned... there are a LOT of residential and road construction projects throughout Southwest Florida. And there are rock hauler trucks every where!

I would recommend they do not rent from Alamo. And perhaps rent from RSW airport not the local airport at Naples. Because they also had a line that had been waiting there equally as long at the Hertz counter. So they seem to have some staffing issues at this airport in general.

Pick up took too long. For being non-airport, we waiting forever to get into the car. Check it was easy but took over 20 mins for the car to come out. The car was in decent condition but the tires were very bad. They were almost bald on the inside of the front tires. Could be dangerous as we did quite a bit of highway driving. The dash had not been dusted. Overall we loved the car and drop off was easy. Good value.

My issue is with the car selection through Kayak or Expedia, I believe I started on Expedia and was somehow led to Kayak. In large text it stated intermediate size but in small text it said several other things including "electric." It wasn't brought to my attention until Avis tried giving me an electric car. There's no way I would've intentionally requested that!! The man who helped me was great but all they had was a large pick-up truck. It worked out but be aware of the small print. The man at Avis was excellent! Very fast, efficient and knowledgeable!!!

Two issues that could have been handled better at the time of pickup. Issue (1) - Budget adds an additonal $200.00 over the cost of the rental agreement. So, a rental of $377.00 appeared on my credit card as a pending charge of $577.00. There was no mention of this additonal $200.00 at the time of pickup. I questioned the additional $200.00 charge when I returned the car. The rental attendant advised the $200.00 would be removed when the contract was closed out. This should have been mentioned at the time of renting the car. Issue (2) - There was no owner's manual in the vehicle I rented. And there were no labels anywhere in or on the vehicle indicating the gasoline octane rating required by the vehicle. Google searches advised some models of this vehicle used 87 octane and other models required 89 octane. Again, nothing on the vehicle indicated the specific model of the vehicle I rented. There should have been an owner's manual in the vehicle and there should have been labels indicating the gasoline octane required by the vehicle.

Budget service in Naples was all brilliant, I can’t fault them at all. The Prius was very uncomfortable so I don’t know if I should have moved the seat but after a five hour drive my hip really hurt

I booked a $112 reservation using my phone for 2 pm. I arrived 12:45 pm to pick up the rental. Instead of telling me, the attendant charges an $87 hourly rental fee for picking up before 2 pm. The attendant never mentions the charge just says he wasn’t expecting me until 2 and the proceeds to generate the paperwork without disclosing the additional fee. I sign without carefully reading the estimated charges (entirely my fault) which the drop-off agent pointed out and told me to contact the pick-up agent to dispute the penalty for checking in early. Of course you are re-routed when trying to reach the location and customer service just robotically responds there is nothing can be done. Usually, rental companies are upfront about charges. I feel deceived. I have never experienced this before and have rented cars for years. Buyer beware. My $112 rental tended up being $287.

We had two issues. First was the pick up of the car at the Naples Airport. There was no one at the counter for 45 minutes after our scheduled pick up time. There was a line of people five people deep that have been waiting for an hour. No one in the building seem to know if there was an Alamo person available to get us our cars that day. When the gentleman who was the manager did show up he said he’d had to deliver A. Car to someone. So clearly, there is a staffing problem. The manager himself was just fine, but we had to pick someone up at the airport at a certain time and missed that time. The second issue we had was we rented a minivan because we needed to transport six people. We were told we could have a jeep instead that only held for people. Thank goodness I went out to the lot to look at it before we agreed. So then we had to wait another 30 minutes for a minivan to get washed. It really shouldn’t take two hours to pick up a rental car at the Small local airport. We were very disappointed and we use another Car Rental company next time

I had a one way rental from Naples Florida to Charleston South Carolina. On both ends it was seamless. Both pick up and drop off were painless.
