we had a trip delay (Delta Airlines) of about 12 hours. Atlanta - Geneva. The Alamo rental office in Geneva French side was closed. So, we slept in a hotel in Geneva. We got the car the next morning. The Alamo employees could not have been nicer. They under stood our big delay, I think they gave us a one-level up SUV. The car had no problem, except one morning, the red light for oil and maintenance lit up. We stopped at a garage, they added a little bit of oil, checked all fluid levels. This fixed the light warning. We had no problem thereafter. As I returned the car, I mentioned the CHF 12.50 expense. The Alamo employee reduced my bill, by this amount without any question. Overall, very pleased with Alamo Geneva French side.

Staff was friendly, but the car I booked was not there. They offered no replacement and no help. Said my only option was to try to book another car from another company at the last minute or wait over 6 hours for the car to arrive (on a one day booking!). So I had to cancel my trip.They could have actually had the car that I had booked. Barring that, they could have made some kind of effort to find me another.

Car was not ready. Staff was excellent; gave us a small van to use for a few hours while we ran some local errands & then upgraded us with free GPS when we returned to pick up our smaller car. Our rep, Mac, was super accommodating & on top of every detail.Nothing, experience was great.

Service of the People was excellent!We ended up paying more 1) For the vignette for driving in Switzerland (CHF 40.-) and 2) A taxi to bring us from the Swiss to the French sector of the airport (CHF 40.-). We had no idea that it would be so complicate to get to the French sector of the airport (without having an airplane ticket).

There are 2 sides of the Geneva airport, Swiss & French. Renting from the French side is a nightmare. You have to go through customs. You pay in Euros. The spot to return the car is in France technically and there is no sign showing where to turn. We drove around 6 times. Frustrating!

To get to the pickup location from the Geneva Airport train station, you need a cab since it‘s not possible to go through the airport. And if I am renting a car in Europe in January, I would expect it to be equiped with winter tires without paying another 20€ per day.

Great experience but a lil expensiveThe staff (Claire) was very charming, helpful, and nice. She helped to pick the right car, walked down with me to walk around the car and sent me on my way. She is a great asset for enterprise car rental.The fact that during my reservation, the car class that I chose said “Renault clio or similar”. Yet when I got to the counter the teller informed me that I reserved a Renault twingo. And this misinformation cost me €30 more a day. This is absolutely not ok and if not repaired I won’t use kayak again, won’t let anybody around me use it, and will file a report with BBB.

Bait and switchI was told where I could get cheaper gas before returning the car. Gas on the swiss side of Geneva airport is way more expensive than on the French side.I booked a luxury car which was not available. When I arrived I was downgraded to a premium and promised a discount. Never received the discount and found out that that particular pick up site never had the the luxury car level I booked. Classic Bait and Switch!
