The staff were very polite and friendly from the gardeners to the the restaurant staff and reception area staff too. The choice at breakfast was endless, there was literally nothing you couldn't get. Great choice of hot and cold food to suit all guests from around the world. The hotel is sat in the most tranquil place on earth and the pool was one of, if not, the best I have every experienced. The white sandy beaches are literally on your doorstep with a few beach shacks open serving food and drinks at a fraction of the cost at the hotel, if you so wished to use them as an alternative.
The parasols and mattresses around the pool area were in need of a bit of TLC and as they packed the parasols away for closed season the parasols were only being washed down by hand just using clear water. Also there's only one toilet for both male and female guests in the pool/outside bar area, which I found odd for a 5 star hotel. One word of warning, when I booked the hotel it was showing the amount and taxes in GBP and it stated that the payment would be handled by the hotel and it would be in local currency, which is quite normal for some bookings on booking.com. However the hotel took the payment in local currency then exchanged it to sterling at a rate of 85 rupees to the pound, when the rate on that day was 93 rupees to the pound. This meant from the amount originally shown in GBP I ended up paying over £200 for the booking. So, when you book, add a note to your booking stating you want to pay in rupees and for them not to convert it to your counties currency. I was also told this is how their cash machine is set, that's rubbish, because I stayed an extra night and asked for them to take the payment rupees, which they did, and the exchange on my credit card was 92 rupees when I got my statement.
Property was big and clean and green. Bathroom s were big. Liked your soaps and shampoos.
Rooms were too dark, It lacked natural lights. Rooms and decorations looked dated. The staff looked untrained. The TV was old. The reception was very poor. There were not enough channels.
The staff and services
World class service from before you enter the lobby, until you leave the gates on departure.
Was painfully quiet for obvious reasons. So they had enormous numbers of staff to make sure everything was seamless.
Nothing. Prices way to high for drinks and food.
Our room was damp and smelt awful. Tried changing room but other room also stank.disapointed as I have wanted to go for 7 years. Awful place.
