Reception staff or staff at the floor and in the kitchen where the best.Breakfast was Delicious.
The staff that cleans the rooms , they did not do well. In the room were four but they only provided 2 towels, provided only 2 sachets for tea, I had to go ask from reception twice for tea ingridients.when one ask for Iron iwill to close to an one to get one sometimes you had to remind them. Light in my room was not working properly.
Breakfast was good
Staff not very friendly, no additional information given at reception, no information booklets in the room. Not on time for the hourly transfer to the V&A Waterfront, customers don't want to hear it is my lunch time???? not our problem, you provide the service ensure their is a person on duty. Conflicting information regarding the transfer from the V&A back to the hotel. Curtains of railing, not fixed, broken hairdryer. Had to contact reception at 3 pm to get the cleaners in to clean the room.
Work is being carried out in the hotel and direction signs which had not changed had me walking all over the place to find the gym which turned out to be in the opposite direction to the existing signage. I found it eventually but not before opening random doors one of which led me onto a roof space and another into a kitchen area. During my hunt I saw areas/corridors looking tired and dirty. I was booked into t his hotel for 2 nights but checked out after the first night and returned to the Park Inn, a much nicer hotel... with a bar!!
The family rooms are really great , they are amazing , decor is amazing breakfast is beyond amazing. Location is stunning.
The only down side is that is that there was no pool
Nice sized family room
Whilst the staff were friendly and wanted to help and it seems they are doing maintenance and some upgrades, we found the hotel to be tired looking and not very clean. Our bedroom floor was very dirty and even after advising Housekeeping nothing was done about it. The shower drain was blocked, the hot water takes about 15 minutes to arrive in the shower and the balcony door was broken and very difficult to open. We tried having dinner in the restaurant but the menu is extremely limited and ended up eating out each night. Breakfast is reasonable but nothing exciting. We put laundry in on one day and lost a shirt, this was reported to management but nothing was done about it and we were still charged over R400.00 for the laundry and the privilege of them loosing our shirt. Their only reaction was to come to our room and give us a letter telling us not to leave valuables in our room. We are not sure how this relates to them loosing our shirt in their laundry....... There is parking in front of the hotel but it is on street parking public parking with no security so it is not very secure. We were accosted on two occasions by homeless people begging for money as we were locking up our car. WiFi is very poor. We eventually booked out one night early as it was not pleasant being there. We were not offered a discount or rebate for that night even though we had paid upfront for the stay but we were just happy to leave. I would certainly not recommend the hotel to anyone.
