Location was excellent. Near bars, clubs and restaurants. Spacious. Basic but functions and clean
Club was closed. Pillows could be better but for price what I would expect
it was very cold in our room.
The bunk beds are divided by walls and curtains, gives you some privacy. The location is very good. There is a closed garden, however mostly used for smoking. Big lockers. It was clean.
The mattress was old, with a hole in the middle. The blanket could be longer. There's no common area, except the corridor at the front desk. The internet in the room worked poorly at times. There is no place to eat your meals, whilst there is a tiny kitchenette, you have to carry your cooked food to your room. Some of the guests were acting uncivilized, making noise at night, totally disregarding the other guests.
Very good location. There are very very practical lockable closets (keys come with the room keys) to put and arrange all your stuff. Clean, each bunk bed has sockets and night lights, each set of bunkbeds has a table on which you can comfortably pack your bags, and a curtain for more privacy. The reception staff was very helpful and quick to respond to all the requests; the service was well above the average encountered during my 3-day stay in Budapest.
The two shower rooms were kind of military style. The light switches in the bathroom did not work properly. Nowhere to eat your own breakfast; the dining room is only for those who buy the hostel breakfast. Summertime must be nice though to eat in the open air courtyard in the middle of the building.
I booked a bed in a mixed dorm. The bed I got was the lower berth in a 2-bed bunk with separations from the nearby bunks. So basically it's like having your own shared room, not the usual 20 people in a room you often see. Loved that. The location is very good with easy access to metros and buses. The neighborhood is littered with a lot of good food options as well. Or if you choose beer/wine, there are a number of bars quite close-by (3 -4 min walking) as well. The place is also quite close to Keleti, the main railway station. The place has a lift and is quite clean, especially the bathroom. The WiFi works just fine in the rooms. The reception is open 24 hours so that's also a plus. Overall a great option if you're in Budapest.
Nothing really. Everything was great.
