The apartment was in a great location, it was right near to the pond area and we walked into Reykjavik centre which was only a 10 minute walk. We had hired a car to see other areas outside of Reykjavik and there was street parking right outside which if you park from after 6:00pm and are out before 9:00am it is free. If not then the parking was not expensive and very handy to be so close to the apartment. The apartment was a great size and lovely and warm after a day out in the cold. We ate out some nights but had also visited the larger Bonus supermarket on the way from the airport and the apartment had a hob, microwave, dishwasher and coffee maker and plenty of plates, pans, cutlery to cook with which helped keep some of the costs down as Iceland is expensive to those who don't live there. The bed was really comfortable and the room a good size. They have a television in the lounge should you wish to watch it The bathroom is on the smaller size and the shower is more like a wet room but the water was powerful and hot and there was underfloor heating which was really nice when you had been out in the cold. They have a hairdryer so no need to take one if you are limited on luggage. Our other tip was that we took our metal coffee mugs and water bottles so we could fill these up before we left for the day to keep costs down and to save plastic when out for the day. Lots of leaflets and paperwork as enter the building and a brochure with lots of details in the apartment and contact numbers, restaurant recommendations. We would definitely stay here again.
The bathroom floor can get wet if the shower door isn't shut properly but due to the heated floor it dries up very quickly. Unfortunately, due to the country, you do have a smell of sulphur when running the shower but that's just a given and the water is still clean and the water in the kitchen to drink from is amazing, so clean and fresh.
Room was nice enough and it’s near to the main square.
They wouldn’t let us leave our luggage because we were a couple minutes after 11am for check out. I might add the lift is slow, and some rooms aren’t very close to reception so it can take some time to get from the room to reception. Saying guests can’t leave bags because a couple minutes is a little bit petty. Any larger hotels would even bother. Charged City tax again even though it was included in original price. Breakfast is tiny with hardly any choice and was mostly gone.
Location was perfect, just a few minutes walk from the centre. The room was clean and spacious. The the staff were brilliant, very easy checking in/out, and the breakfast was great.
Great location, great staff, ample room.
Can't think of anything not to like.
The location only.
Honestly it was the worst of all. The staff is so unhelpful, aggressive and you literally feel that u’re not welcomed at the hotel. The front desk operates only from 7am till 8pm. So, if u’re checking out earlier that 7am, there’s no one to talk to, and if u forgot anything in the lobby, there’s no way you can pick it up, cause simply the hotel door is closed and there’s no one inside. Not to mention that the staff was very rude. Adding to this, the room was super small for 2 travelers, we were hardly walking in it.
