Pros: Very friendly and helpful owner who let us use his garage for our motorcycle. The location is superb within the town, which itself is in one of the most beautiful parts of Germany.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was spatious, clean. The bed was large and the matrass good. Wifi free and fast. The shower is very good. Location is a few minutes walking from the center of the lovely town, which is close to regional highlights such as the Brocken hill. Reception by the host was very friendly. My wife asked the staff to decorate the breakfast table for my birthday with decorations she had brought with her; they did so and added a glass of Sekt free of charge too.
Cons: Can't think of anything
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were extremely friendly from the moment we arrived. The hotel is small but very homely (so not hyper-modern), however the rooms are a very good size with en suite and all importantly clean. The location is ideal. It was only a short brisk walk from the centre of Braunlage - helps with digestion!! but far enough to make it probably the quietest hotel this side of the Mekong Delta. Breakfast was superb on both days we stayed. We would certainly stay again and recommend it to others
Cons: nothing worth comment

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel, very nice service, very clean, nice food... just great!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Our room ("villa" is what they called it) was pretty huge, and so was the bathroom. The room was pure luxury; it was like a mini apartment. There was a music system in the room on which we could play some nice music (added to the ambience). There were toiletries provided in the bathroom. The sauna and swimming pool were good too, and were included in the price. Also included in our booking was the dinner (a three course meal). We had preferred to eat vegetarian, and the kitchen accommodated to our needs. The breakfast was simple and typical. There is free but limited parkings available at location (inside the hotel premises). The area close to the hotel is nice with some restaurants in the vicinity.
Cons: The bed was uncomfortable, and there were two single beds joined together (instead of a queen bed), even when we had booked a double bed room for two persons. The masseuse had called in sick, and the hotel did not have an alternative.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very good hotel overlooking the town
Cons: Nothing

Pros: We only stayed for one night, but it was a great stay. Staff were very friendly. The property was clean and tidy and in a great location. Breakfast was delicious - staff had set up a table for us before we arrived at breakfast and had set up a special place for my daughter with a children’s character cup and napkin. She loved it! The location was ideal for travelling throughout the Harz and we had a beautiful view from our balcony in the evening. Our room was very spacious, with plenty of storage for clothes. I would definitely recommend a stay here.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great and Anke was a perfect host !
Cons: Surprised that I could only pay with cash and not card. No big deal but just delayed my departure a little.

Pros: Nice spacious apartment, comfortable beds. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Close to the ski lift, although on the way back it is uphill with skis. Great place for a few days of wintersport and sightseeing. Very friendly hotel. The kids had good fun playing in the snow in the garden, and they have sleighs to use. We will happily come back another time.
Cons: The decorating is somewhat outdated, but I guess it adds to the overall atmosphere.

Pros: This is the second time that we've stayed here. The buffet breakfast was varied, typical German, and just great! The rooms have been recently refurbished, modern but still with an alpine twist. Very tasteful. Simone and her team were very attentive, making our stay extra special.
Cons: Nothing really.

Pros: Good size rooms, very cozy house, good breakfast. Perfect location in regards to skiing facilities.
Cons: No information at check-in or check-out. Old leaflet in the room saying (among other things) that credit cards were not accepted...! Very few words from the land lady - smiling and greeting but NO information at all. Very poor wi-fi!

8,3 Excellent
Pros: Well connected to hiking trails.
Cons: Room was a bit small.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Good Location, clean rooms and nice spa
Cons: Service was slow at both checkin and in the restaurant. Petra and jourdette were great at making sure we had everything we needed but others weren’t interested. Table cloths were not changed at breakfast, we had dirty cloths both mornings.
7,1 Good
Pros: Nice spa area. Nice clean hotel. Rooms, nice view from balcony. Pleasant staff in restaurant and at the bar.
Cons: Staff at reception could have been more pleasant. Nobody ask if we liked our stay when paying. No kettle in rooms. No place to put the suitcase. No fridge.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Quite in a mountain setting.
Cons: The front desk staff was rude, unhelpful and abrasive. The bed was like a board and the bathroom and parts of the hotel were very dated. For 150€ for a night I would expect more luxury. If you can find free parking great, if not then you have to pay 10€. The breakfast was very meat heavy and not many options for vegetarians. Again, for the price I would expect a much nicer breakfast. We do not recommend this hotel, sadly we heard this was the nicest hotel in the area, we would hate to see what a bad one looks like.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Really calm natural area and the breakfast buffet was very delicious and fresh... the personal were very helpful and polite
6,7 Good
Pros: Good breakfast
Cons: The “large double bed was actuality tow singles with a big frame in the middle , we had to switch to an “economy “ room that was smaller but had a double bed (140cm) they refunded us only 10 euro for the difference. The water in the indoor pool were not worm enough and it was not very unpleasant . No massage service at the day of stay .
6,7 Good
Pros: Breakfast area was very nice and big. Room had a small balcony which faces forest. Spa facilities were nice. Had ample wardrobe hangers which is great. Free limited parking.
Cons: For the price we paid which is more than €140 for 1 night for a double room, we felt it wasn't value for money. - room was very small and had no luggage rack to open the luggage. - no kettle in room and not available when asked too. - requested pot of hot water from restaurant but the flask was rather black-stained perhaps with coffee. - bed was so small. Seems smaller than a regular queen size bed. - pool was indoor but not heated.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Good location in Harz
Cons: Nice place, but overrated compared to the price

Cons: Internet kept disconnecting and you can hear everything from the neighboring room so pack some earplugs
9,6 Excellent
Pros: I made a mistake and booked the wrong dates. I contacted the owner and she was extremely helpful and allowed me to correct my error. The hotel itself is very rustical but charming. Set in a nice location. The room was not only clean but spotless
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great little gem. Friendly owner and very comfortable accommodation. Clean neat and tidy, close to the city centre and all amenities. Dog friendly, and family friendly, has breakfast option, there is parking room also. it is up the hill, so if you are not going by car its hard of you are caring heavy luggage. rooms are up the stairs and there is no lift. They were flexible enough with keeping my bag few hours after I checked out. It was quiet place, really spacious. You are provided with towels, shower gel, hair dryer, cotton buds . Room had a TV, table and chairs, enough hangers also. I would definitely return. Reasonably priced. Best offer I could find in late August.

6,7 Good
Pros: location was excellent. Free charging of electric vehicle.
Cons: they were out of bathrobes, although everybody else seemed to have gotten one the place looks a bit rundown, especially the parking garage staff was friendly though somewhat unprofessional showers in the changing room to the pool area certainly are not what you would expect nowadays although they did end up having free charging for my electric vehicle, noone except for the facilities manager that was eventually consulted, seemed to know where they were. I found the socket ...
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Everithing
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast-buffet, spacious rooms and good facilities
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Good and scenic location
Cons: Nothing
7,5 Good
Pros: location, comfy beds, view, friendliness of staff, breakfast selection good
Cons: sauna too small, breakfast room too large, free wifi slow (500kbit/s), not enough free parking space, you can smell the old carpets in the rooms and halls (yet everything looks clean), hotel has the flair of the seventies (not necessarily negative)
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Nice and clean rooms, good food
5,0 Okay
Pros: Surroundings are beautiful. Close to hiking tracks. Rich breakfast buffet, but no vsriation during the stay.
Cons: At checkin, I realized that "mountain view" meant "scaffold view". Substantial renovation is under eway in this hotel. I was given a better room after complaining and threatening to leave. I still believe that the original room assignment was related to the fact that I was travelling alone. Lonesome riders are less likely to complain. Reception staff is uninterested. When a second staff member saw the lengthening check-out queue, she vanished into the back office. At checkout, a lady behind me in the queue just wanted to leave her keys. She was in a hurry, but rudely advised to wait in the queue. At checkin, I was told I could leave my luggage somewhere in the reception area. When I showed up 4 hours later, it was still there - probably unguarded and uninsured. Again, the staff did not even notice that I removed my luggage. Had I known this I would not have left my brand new laptop in the (locked) suitcase. Just some example to illustrate the reason why this hotel will never see me again.
7,1 Good
Pros: The staff where very nice and where happy to help in anyway. The meals are of a high standard . The views from the balconies are great.
Cons: The hotel was mainly used by older German tourists who didn't acknowledge us in any way. There where very few other nationality's and my wife and I where the only British. There was no international feeling about the hotel. Children under 12 years were not accompanied by adults on a couple of occasions we attended the inside pool. I don't agree with having to pay €11 a day to park my car in the hotels own carpark. It cost us £70 to park our car for 7 days.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Indoor Swimming pool, adequate parking, good breakfast.
Cons: The climb up to the hotel, very steep. Outdoor pool was not very clean.
7,0 Good
Pros: The staff were extremely helpful when we asked to amend our stay at the hotel
Cons: The buffet menu in the restaurant
6,3 Good
Pros: The quiet location was lovely. The pools were a blessing in the gorgeous hot weather. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly.
Cons: fortunately we didnt prebook the parking at 11 euros per day. The hotel will provide a car pass for the car park down the hill and although it's a bit of a climb up the hill (for the unfit!) worth the saving.
7,3 Good
Pros: The indoor pool was amazing! And if it'd been warmer, we'd have used the outdoor one too. Such a nice town too!
Cons: The steep climb up to it.
6,4 Good
Pros: The staff were all pleasant the view from our room was fantasticand although some might think it a little pricey it was excellent value
6,8 Good
Pros: The five course dinner in the evening was exceptionally good and the service as well. The swimming pool was excellent with no horrible pool chemical smell.
5,2 Okay
Pros: Very nice location in Harz mountains
Cons: The hotel is nice, but rather old, needs renovation
7,2 Good
Pros: The facilities were very good.
Cons: I think that the breakfast was very expensive. I do not think that one should have to pay to park. There should be a printer available for guests and free internet access.
3,6 Mediocre
Pros:
Cons: the reception staff attitude was rude upon both registration and check out. they seem like the guests really bother them.

Pros: Perfect placed for skiing. So nice breakfast. We come again next year !!
6,7 Good
Pros: The breakfast was pretty rich
Cons: Towels at old, discolored and even broken.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Historic interior.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Had a great time.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Good 2 star hotel, Excellent breakfast with fresh waffels, Beds comfortable, Staff friendly, Parking places normally enough I think ( about 12) because of roadworks only 4 available, but for us this was not a problem we parked in a road next to the hotel, Lot of restaurants and shops nearby Walking roads up the mountain and going up by cable car at 500M, Shower loads of pressure, and temperature in the room very good, with outside temperatures over 32 degrees the room stayed very cool,( Room N° 7) We will come back for sure
Cons: Nothing really, maybe a point to look at a little fridge in the room to have cold drinks,
7,1 Good
Pros: The breakfast was better than we were expecting. A well-stocked buffet with an eagle eyed lady on hand making sure nothing ran out. The warm rolls and eggs were great. The offer of fresh waffles were a nice touch and very much appreciated. Also the roaring wood stove first thing made the breakfast room cosy. Our room could have slept 6, so this is a good choice for budget conscious families.
Cons: Feather pillow are not a great for us as two of us have asthma. Also heavy curtains to block out the daylight in the summer would be good, especially when there are kids involved.
6,7 Good
Pros: Very sweet workers. One of them speak English, which was nice. Great waffels freshly made at breakfast
Cons: The walls are very thin so you can hear the neighbours - also during their “night fun” and when they laugh. Missing plastic bags in the trash can (not very hygienic when it is just a bin). Also missing a fridge in the rooms so that one can store own fruit and cold drinks. The building needs a make over - paint and better decor. It seems a little abandoned which is sad because it is a very nice building, but it needs a caring hand.
7,1 Good
Pros: Cheap, friendly host
Cons: Noisy
