The street is very calm, but next to the center. The hotel has a great design, there is a lot of detailes that make you feel home. We really enjoyed out stay. Everything was comfortable and exactly as we expected. The silence of the terrace in the rainy morning was just marvellous.
We arrived at the hotel after a long day of driving and it was not easy to find primarily because the main roads near the hotel were under construction, not their fault but the hotel is not easy to locate down narrow little roads and once we pulled up in front of the hotel there was nowhere to offload our suitcases. Once that was accomplished with another circle around the block, we headed to the parking garage but the receptionist did not bother to let us know that all the roads were under construction and that it was difficult to find the entrance to the parking garage. Once were got back to the hotel and while she finished our registration she did not once smile or made us feel welcome, it was a blank face of total indifference to two guests that were frazzled with navigating our way through the complex streets of Bordeaux. I asked her for a dinner recommendation which she gave, she took us through to our room which was tiny and did offer to bring us a drink which she did efficiently but all with this unfriendly, unsmiling face. The room was one where if one person needed to sort their luggage out the other either had to lie on the bed or sit outside in the very pleasant courtyard. The next morning a second hostess was waiting for us at breakfast and she was very friendly and welcoming. So in summary - the receptionist was unfriendly and unwelcoming and all we needed was a friendly face and a couple of smiles, the hotel lacks an off loading and loading spot outside in the narrow road, the room was tiny, the morning hostess was very friendly and the breakfast was great. Would I go back - no, I don't want another dose of that reception we received.
