Love this place...!! I stay here eaxh year to ski...quite and lovely
I liked that we had been here over and over on our anniversary.
Management Change has taken away amenities and charm. For $235 a night we expected the same amenities as before. The lobby had a wood burning fireplace but it wasn’t lit this time because the owner stopped buying firewood for it. ALSO, they no longer provide a continental breakfast. This was a shocker. Also it was our anniversary and they said they would make it special. Nothing was done, unless the two bottles of water in the room was our special moment. We won’t stay here again.
Everyone was nice. The room was cute and the location was perfect.
The room had hair all over the floor and all over the towels. We were told to check in at 3 and the room wasn’t ready until 5. The second night we were there our room hadn’t been cleaned that day so we just figured it was a different schedule and went to dinner around 7pm. We left all of our bags open and our belongings out and came back at 9pm to a clean room. We were irritated because we didn’t know they’d be coming in and the floor still hadn’t been swept.
The staff at the inn was very nice.
The company did not staff enough people in housekeeping. Our check in was two and a half hours late. The next day room was not made up until we left for dinner. One person was on duty to clean all rooms. Impossible job for him. Our room strongly smelled of dirty dogs. Pet friendly hotels should control smells. The smell was in the fabrics. The floors were wooden. We did not have a pet. There was dog poop in the grass on the property. We have changed hotels for tonight. It was another hotel owned by the same group but does not accept dogs. They did say it could be as late as 5 when housekeeping would have our room ready. The smell kept us from sleeping. Let me stress that this was not the fault of the on site staff.
We stayed in a Villa and it was perfect for my husband, myself, and our adult son. The Village Inn is pet friendly, walking distance to everything in the little town of Blowing Rock, and was just a lovely place.
Very tight parking
