Pros: Very nice hotel in Blois. We were only passing through, so I don't know how the location is relative to sights or attractions. The staff was very friendly, and the room was the perfect size. The air conditioning is more European, then American (read that as a little on the warm side). But that is something that all properties probably have. I would certainly recommend this spot.

Cons: I have stayed a few times and I am beginning to think that the decor is becoming old and tired - Consequently it is also becoming overpriced. In the morning, the fire alarm went off, but with the TV on and in the shower, I totally missed to hear it. There are no repeaters in the rooms only in the corridor. If you have poor high tone hearing, this is a real hazard !

Cons: Upon arrival and for the first time after visiting other Mercure and chain hotels on our tour, we were asked to provide a card as guarantee against the account. This was provided and we were assured that nothing would be deducted until departure. However, upon checking the following day an estimated sum of several hundred euros had been deducted immediately. This led to significant confusion on departure and has led to a dispute which has yet to be resolved.

Cons: We arrived around 16:00 and found it difficult to get a drink in the bar. There appeared to be a shortage of staff all through the evening in the restaurant and bar and the young girls not able to cover sufficiently. After a satisfactory dinner we tried to order drinks in the bar but gave up after 15 minutes wait and went to bed.

Cons: I didn’t like the bed. It was very hard and the pillows were the same, did not have a good sleep at all. Plus the air conditioning vent/motor was up in the duplex where we slept and kept making noise, which wasn’t good for a peaceful sleep.

Cons: I slept badly because of the mattress, which was hot and clinging like an absorbent marshmallow. When you lie down it seems to wrap around you, and this causes resistance to turning over, which is painful for anyone like me with chronic backache. Though perhaps not a concern for everyone.

Cons: Not all the tourists are comfortable with a big dog around. So, its better to control the dog and cat. It was noisy specially in night with trains. If the window is closed then no other ventilation. There should be sound proofing.

Pros: Its location deserves a mention here - if you are interested in taking trips to the surrounding castles (Chambord, Chaumont, etc), it is very well placed. Also, the staff is really welcoming and every day there are fresh towels provided; the price is also convenient.
Cons: The room (6) is really noisy (one could very well hear the announcements in the train station, starting, roughly, with 5 am until 11 pm) and its windows face the ventilation of the restaurant below. The walls of the room need to be freshened up (too many marks of the previous visitors).

We had an upper bedroom with a window view to the side of the chateau but the hotel was in a busier area of town than we anticipated. All a bit old fashioned and had seen more glamourous days. Had to hunt a bit to find a parking space at moderate cost in the public park above the hotel and had to change to the park beneath the castle which is closer but more expensive. Free parking outside the hotel for unloading was possible - but for a very short stay.

Cons: Tired room , communal areas, bathroom. Bedroom . NOISY AT NIGHT......floorboards squeak in ours and room above and communal areas, water mains when running , next door room (snoring and using bathroom )

Pros: A bit hectic to find what you wanted at breakfast, but in a beautiful room with an ornate ceiling and huge paintings of chateaux on the walls. We had an upper bedroom with a window view to the side of the chateau but the hotel was in a busier area of town than we anticipated. All a bit old fashioned and had seen more glamourous days. Had to hunt a bit to find a parking space at moderate cost in the public park above the hotel and had to change to the park beneath the castle which is closer but more expensive. Free parking outside the hotel for unloading was possible - but for a very short stay.
Cons: The décor. The style of the bedroom was a bit basic and there was no air conditioning - just a ceiling fan, quiet and efficient as far as it went. A long and rather narrow bathroom with a cabbage-head shower over the bath.

Pros: A great location close to the chateaux and sights. The hotel had an oldy-worldy charm and was good value for money. The room was a bit "tired" but the bed was comfortable and an efficient fan was provided to keep us cool at night. The breakfast was plentiful and there was a good choice including gluten free bread.
Cons: The wifi was unreliable which was rather a nuisance.

Pros: We had a room for 5 which suited our needs perfectly as a family for one night. The styling of the hotel is traditional not modern. Very good value for money. Also in a very central location for everything.

Pros: A good stay, met my expectations. We arrived late, but there were no problem since they send you the passwords for the different doors in advance. The apartment was also nice and the place was quiet.

Cons: The common areas of the property seem to need a bit of renovation, but overall it was a good experience. Reception is closed between 12 and 16 which can be a bit of an annoyance in some cases.

Cons: The room was not cleaned during our three day stay. There were no clothes hangers in the room. The latter was particularly uncomfortable. I had brought one hangers with me, because sometimes there are not enough hangers for two people, but no hangers at all looks strange.

Cons: Dining room very crowded and some breakfast items had run out, although we were down for breakfast well within time. Couldn't park by accommodation but found fairly cheap on street spaces a couple of hundred yards away.

Slight issue is parking, best tip - use the side street behind the hotel. We stayed for a one night stop over and it was good enough for that. Cons: I am not sure the hotel could have done anything about it, the room was very hot and unfortunately when it did cool down outside later in the eve we were unable to sleep with our windows open due to the very loud noise of the next door hotel aircon generator. It had been 35degrees ouside. Maybe an offer of a fan for the night?

Cons: I can hear the upstairs neighbours floor boards creaking quite loudly. No covers on the duvees, it looked dirty so I didn't use it. Walls look like they need a good clean too.
