Fresh and health
Not for me, but some may want a TV in theroom
Very friendly and helpful staff, the hotel is quirky and beautiful, like a step back in time. Amazing swimming pool, lovely breakfast and a great spot in Berkeley next to the university.
The building is so unique and beautiful. There are so many places to sit and enjoy quiet moment including the beautiful courtyard. We loved the breakfast. The coffee was delicious and the freshly baked pastries were so irresistible. The hotel is so close to the shops and restaurants and yet very quiet. We loved everything about this place!
There is nothing we did not like.
Like staying in a museum! Such amazing character and history, charming room with an amazing view of SF. We loved our time here
No AC but they give fans
As a foreigner I was considering the safety of my families when I chose hotel. This hotel is within close neighborhood of UC Berkeley. It fulfilled my requirement and I saw college student walking in street even midnight. I also went out for buying something around 21-22 o’clock. The building of this city club built in 1920s’. It’s antique beauty attracted my families and me deeply; we took many photos inside and out. The first and second floors are still being occupied by Berkeley City Club. The hotel guests may also use the facilities of club nevertheless, including lounge, coffee corner, library, ball room and swimming pool. Just do not disturb the club members. Guests may even consider to play chess or dance with the members. Considering the old type of this club, most club members are older in age. It is not a noisy place. The only noisy time I witnessed was a wedding there in a Friday evening. This hotel doesn’t provide TV set but it is okay to me because I seldom watch TV. It equips no air conditioner (there is a radiator inside the room though), but I think is not a shortcoming because the summer of San Francisco is freezing therefore air conditioner is useless. Nonetheless, the hotel provides fans in each room in case that the weather turns hot.
The Berkeley City Club offers modern accommodations in a vintage building, with beautiful views of the surrounding city. The hotel features a hair salon and skincare studio, along with a restaurant for guest dining. There is a bar and lounge, as well. Guests can enjoy the heated indoor swimming pool and lounge area and there are a variety of meeting and event rooms for various special occasions, meetings, and events. The hotel staff is ready to assist guests with sightseeing recommendations and other services. The hotel provides complimentary breakfast for all guests and complimentary hotel-wide WiFI. This unique property also hosts the Loggia Art Exhibit and Central Works Theatre, offering plenty of entertainment for guests. Membership privileges are available and on-site parking is available for all overnight guests and club members. All of the 38 guest rooms are decorated with vintage items, offering a time-honored space that includes elegant furniture and plush bedding for guest comfort. Rooms include a phone, premium bedding, a sitting area or chair, and a private bathroom with complimentary toiletries. Self-service laundry facilities are available for guest use at the Berkeley City Club, which offers 38 guest rooms and suites. This boutique hotel is a non-smoking property. There is a 24-hour business center and a garden for guest enjoyment. The hotel front desk is open 24 hours a day and there is a front desk safe. The hotel also offers a public computer station for guest use and complimentary coffee and tea are available in the lobby.
