Pros: The spa facilities and food were amazing.
Cons: I think the deluxe room could have been more luxurious for the price per night. Also I thought the additional price for breakfast was too much when you've already paid over 200 euros for the room.
Pros: Landscape and beautiful garden
Cons: Breakfast is nothing special, staff is not attentive and arrogant, room 127 is a nightmare with badly finish wooden ceiling (like if it’s under construction), old carpet, many spikes in the wall which can easily damage you, lack of windows and terrible access (via two decks of stairs)
Pros: Personal, breakfast.
Cons: The room is very old fashion and also with dirty walls, dirty carpets. Some items were broken. They have a room with 2 floors without a gate for the stairs, we were traveling with a 2 years old! This room was awful dirty (walls, carpets, etc). We changed the room and it was better.
Pros: Very friendly and helpfull staff, fabulous place decorated in X-mas atmosphere, real X-mas tree in the living room, excellent breakfast. You feel the quietness and rest instantly.
Cons: Dustweb under the table in the living room
Pros: Amazing room, service and breakfast. Beautiful grounds and a lot of history. Peaceful surrounding area. Generally very friendly people. Not a great deal to do for the kids but everything else makes up for it.

Pros: A real gem. Lovely hotel, exceptionally nice owners, outstanding value for money
Pros: Bianca and Martin were very friendly and welcoming and always ready to help with all little details. Christmas decor with lights and soft christmas music playing in the background added to the charm of the cosy reception area. Very good breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay there. And thanks a lot for the gift Bianca & Martin :)
Pros: Really lovely welcome from Bianca and Martin, with helpful tips on where to eat, where to have a drink, and where to take a beautiful walk in the countryside. The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious and quiet. Breakfast was tasty and there was plenty of it! We visited over Easter so had their delicious Easter Bread for breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

Pros: Great family run Hotel. Extremely clean and good facilities. Super location. Very Service oriented people.
Cons: Zero complaints, a first for me :-)
Pros: Very friendly staff lovely clean warm room. Breakfast was amazing so much to choose
Pros: Location couldn’t be better, 100 yards to the heart of the town. Friendly staff. Not a breakfast person but did have b/f one day and there was a large selection of fresh food (breads, cereals, fruit, meats, juices, tea & coffee etc). Bathroom was huge, water heated up very quickly. Room was a really nice size, beds very comfy, linens very clean. The whole hotel was very clean.
Cons: One slight negative: asked for a taxi to be booked to take us to the station but was directed to the taxi rank in the square instead. It was early (9am) so there were no taxis but, luckily, a local shop owner phoned to order one for us.
Pros: Lovely family run hotel in a fantastic location. Central to everything. The hotel is immaculate and the breakfast was good. Would definitely stay here again.

Pros: Location. Great breakfast.
Cons: We had a medical emergency with our dog and had to leave a day early. Although we left very close to normal checkout time, and expected to pay something, we were required to pay the full amount. This is, mind you, on a very busy weekend when I am confidant they were easily able to re-let the room. This was disappointing and a failure of basic human consideration.
Pros: Location excellent, breakfast very good, staff very friendly, bar area very relaxing and lovely lady in the bar so friendly and passionate about the hotel. Excellent room, clean and comfortable bed. Would definitely stay her again
Pros: Great location and very clean and comfortable place for a lovely weekend in a magical village.
Pros: Very comfortable room. The breakfast was delicious. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: We liked everything.
Pros: Very good breakfast Very kind and friendly stuff Comfortable beds
Pros: The hotel was quiet and the room very nice . We had a family room and it was plenty of room for the four of us. The beds were super comfy. Nice bathroom with a rain shower and a good size glass shower cubicle. The lounge was cosy, especially as we visited just before Christmas so it was very festive. Staff were friendly and pleasant. We would definitely stay here again.

Pros: Good location Quiet area even closed to freeway Nice room Good breakfast

Pros: Hotel in great location! Can get confusing since road is blocked bc of the Christmas market (have to go up and around!) Hostess was soooo sweet and breakfast was delish! Will def come back—we love this city!
Cons: Parking is confusing ONLY bc of road closures for Christmas market.
Pros: Wonderful breakfast and the hotel staff was very friendly.
Pros: The hospitality of the hostess and her farther was exceptional very welcoming . I emailed asking if I could park my motorcycle in the garage and they had made a space for my arrival and were ready when I arrived. The breakfast was lovely and well presented at a time of our choosing. The area feels very safe even late at night as does the whole of the beautiful city of Valkenburg. The hotel gave us discount vouchers for many attractions and restaurant's on arrival. For the price paid we were very satisfied with this Hotel and we will stay here again.
Cons: Nothing to really dislike given the good value of the hotel. The weather was very hot during our stay and the room was very warm but the hotel provided a fan which helped. This is not a criticism of the hotel
Pros: We come to Valkenburg every year for the Midsummer Prog Festival and it’s our second stay at the Hotel Lela. This time we had my in-laws with us. It really is a home from home. The location is perfect, a stone’s throw from the Openluchttheatre where the festival is held but away from the busy main streets. Denise is the most friendly and welcoming host, nothing is too much trouble! My father in law had bought a belt which was too loose and Denise’s father made a new hole for it. We had forgotten suncream and Denise brought us some to put on before we went out. Just a couple of examples of how she goes above and beyond to ensure the comfort of guests! Breakfast in the morning on the pretty terrace in front of the hotel was a particular highlight. Most of all, my in-laws loved it! We will be back next year.
Cons: Nothing not to love!
Pros: Localization near the city center. Friendly and helpful staff. Tipical family hotel.
Cons: The beds should have better (or more) pillows

The hotel offers comfortable rooms and a tasty breakfast. Breakfast packages are available as well. Hotel Heynen is situated near by the centre of Valkenburg (10 minutes walk) and 8 miles from Maastricht. The hotel is an ideal start for your walk, bicycle or shopping holiday or to visit a Christmas market. The reception provides information about several activities that are available in this area.
Pros: Cozy little hotel close to the train station and city. An Aldi is also right around the corner. The owner is super nice, friendly and helpful. The room was pretty spacious and clean.
Pros: Extremely friendly and very helpful owners - good location.
Cons: A bit tricky for one of our party who finds stairs difficult.
Pros: Private parking at no extra cost. Nice lobby with street view. Excellent breakfast, nicely servesc. Big room, clean bathroom.
Cons: About one km from town centre, be prepared to walk (not necessarily a bad thing). Inclined staircase, no elevator
Pros: Breakfast excellent it was a long walk to station no taxi available
Cons: the stairs were very dark and not suitable for people with walking problems
Pros: Good location for town centre, 10 minute walk to the train station, lovely continental breakfast. Owners extremely helpful
Pros: Lovely stay, great hosts, great location only 10mins to centre. Lovely ginger cake at breakfast!
When you stay at B&B De La Ruïne in Valkenburg aan de Geul, you'll be near the airport, within a 15-minute drive of Bonnefanten Museum and Basilica of Our Lady. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Really close to all the shops and restaurants and it’s located in a 100 year old building near ruins. The breakfast was excellent!
Cons: My partners side of the bed was worn out so his mattress slid off the base and he kept felling out of it, because of the location of our room the wifi didn’t work.
Pros: Very good location Friendly staff Good breakfast
Cons: Very small room Bathroom OUT of the room No parking
Pros: Nice clean room. Good breakfast.
Cons: Beds were a bit too soft
Pros: Nice and homey, enjoyed our stay. Staff is more then just friendly, you really feel like a welcome guest.
Cons: nothing I can think off
Pros: Perfect in every way possible! Lovely kind hosts! Welcome drink! Help with luggage!

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Property was double booked
Pros: The spa area was amazing. We really enjoyed our time spent there.
Cons: We just found the hotel area to be really dated. The breakfast order wasn’t taken twice and when they did deliver the breakfast there was never any salt. They were always empty.
Pros: The pool area is big and not packed.
Cons: The hotel doesn't deliver the experience that we were expecting, for a 4-star hotel. Everything is not 4 star, in all details. The pool was nice, but it not worth it the money. Also, they charge you for everything, even simple things like flip flops to use in the pool area. The access to the room is poor, also the room itself.
Pros: Brilliant place to relax as well as travel to local towns; Valkenburg, Aachen & Maastricht. We only had breakfast & lunch at the hotel which were both good.
Cons: Queuing for breakfast, room not big enough. Robes and slippers not included in rooms, had to hire these.
Pros: + fluffy bed, pillows and carpets; + delicious breakfast, a lot of options; + Welness centre has a lot of space and options to do. The restaurant Senses on the sight is a marvelous bohemic place to relax inbetween sauna sessions; + Beautiful location, a stroll away from the old town.
Cons: - the hotel guests have to pay extra 14 euros for parking, that is a ripp-off, cause I don't see a point why a hotel should charge you extra for parking; - if you make reservation via booking.com, check weather the hotel is providing you with extra amenities like bathrobes, bed preferencies ect. cause in our case if we wouldn't point out to the lady at the desk that we had bathrobes included we would be paying extra.
With a stay at Hotel Botterweck, you'll be centrally located in Valkenburg aan de Geul, steps from Theodoor Dorrenplein and within a 5-minute walk of Valkenburg Castle. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, luggage storage, and an elevator.
Pros: Location was excellent and staff were friendly.
Cons: This place has the potential to be much nicer, but unfortunately it hasn't been taken care of. Simply walking up the staircase to the second floor feels as though it may come crashing down at any moment -- the same is true for the floorboards in the rooms. The bathroom resembled the photos, though it was a shame to see how poor maintenance had been: non-functioning extractor fan that hadn't seen a cloth since installation; saggy mattresses; very noisy if you get unlucky with neighbors and a squeaky and bouncy floor.
Pros: The hotel is located right in the centre of the town, Christmas market was 30 meters away, all the restaurants were less than 5 minutes walk away. If you want to be in the heart of the things to do you can't go wrong with this hotel.
Cons: Be careful if you are using the trains, they can be cancelled and you don't have many options if this happens.
Pros: Ideal location, clean friendly, second time we have stopped there, no complaints.
Cons: Parking is a good walk from the hotel.
Pros: Nice little hotel in the centre of valkenberg Fantastic location for visiting the caves Easy to get to from the train station 10-15 minute walk
Cons: No tea and coffee making facilities in the room No wardrobe just a hanging rail Breakfast was fantastic on the first day things were replenished frequently but sadly this didn’t happen every day and the selection looked very poor and old on our third morning
Pros: The location was excellent. Right in the center and an easy walk from the train station and all the Christmas markets. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a good buffet spread and the beds were SO comfy! Overall an excellent stay and I would recommend them to anyone looking for accommodation in the area.
Pros: Excellent location, right in the centre of the city, easy walk to all restaurants, bars and the Valkenburg caves. Very good breakfast buffet, friendly staff.
Cons: Nothing! Only a suggestion for improvement, it would be nice if the hotel had negotiated discounted rate for a nearby parking lot, since the hotel is not accessible by car.
Pros: This is our third stay at the Hotel Botterweck. The hotel is very clean & comfortable and its location is excellent. We have always had a warm welcome from the staff, who are very helpful. We always stay the same time of the year as we enjoy the Christmas parade - this is amazing to see the children, of all ages, taking part - and also the caves Christmas markets. The history of the caves is extremely interesting and we are looking at visiting in the summer so that we can experience the tours and history of the caves.
With a stay at Hotel Valkenhof in Valkenburg aan de Geul, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Valkenburg Castle and Theodoor Dorrenplein. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and luggage storage.
Cons: Breakfast at 11euro mediocre, very little choice Room above the restaurant is very noisy. Bathroom is very small.
Pros: The staff was great and friendly.
Cons: There was no shampoo or soap in room and when asked they came back and told me they don't do that anymore. Plus the beds where just little hard for me.
Pros: Great place to stay. And the food in restaurant was excellent.
Pros: The restaurant serves good food and the location of the hotel is awesome
Cons: Room was a little small
Pros: Quaint clean and decorated so nice. Needed nothing. Had everything!! Great location from train station - 10 minute walk. Right in the middle of the Christmas market.
Pros: The food was very good in the restaurant and it had a lovely atmosphere. We liked the fact that there was tea and coffee making facilities in the room as well as a fridge
Cons: Could have done with bedside table as he shelf was a little delicate and a maybe somewhere to put clothes but not unhappy with that as furniture would have reduced the space.
Pros: Staff is very friendy and helpfull. The breakfast is good, enough choice for all (bread, toast, meusli, fruit, ham, cheese...). The interior of the restaurant is very nice. We did not have the opportunity to have dinner, but we saw happy faces in the restaurant when we pass.
Cons: We had a room in the roof, and it was little cold and very small bathroom. And the stairs were very narrow. Not easy to bring your luggage up and down. Good for short stays. For a stay of a week i would prefer a bigger room.
This hotel features a restaurant, terrace and cosy bar with a conservatory. Monopole is located in the centre of Valkenburg, 15 minutes’ walk from Thermae 2000 and Holland Casino Valkenburg. Each of the rooms at Grand Hotel Monopole features a TV and bathroom with shower or bath. Some of the room benefit from a seating area. Guests can enjoy a daily buffet breakfast. The bus station is 150 metres from Grand Hotel Monopole. Valkenier recreation park is a 15-minute walk from the hotel. Free public parking is available on site.
Pros: breakfast was on the whole good
Cons: parking facilities very limited had twice to ask for people to be moved so I could get out
Cons: The breakfast was really good with continental and scrambled eggs and bacon, so no complaints from our family. The location is perfect - there is parking at the hotel for guests and it is just a short walk from the town center, Xmas markets and restaurants. The bar in the hotel is excellent and reasonably priced too.
Pros: Location . Decorations very good.
Cons: No tea coffee in rooms . Only one member of staff interacted with customers.
Pros: The hotel is close to the train station and the breakfast room was a pleasure.
Cons: The hotel looks like an old English hotel, with similar features: carpet everywhere, noisy, and very warm rooms.
Pros: The location was very good. The personnel are very hospitable. The room was clean and big enough.
When you stay at Hotel Atlanta in Valkenburg aan de Geul, you'll be connected to a shopping center, within a 15-minute drive of Bonnefanten Museum and Basilica of Our Lady. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Great location if you are visiting Valkenburg, cozy breakfast.
Cons: Very old building, room was basic and WC not clean unfortunately. The staff were helpful but nothing exceptional compared to other hotels in the area. Price too high for what I got but should try to book earlier next time.
Pros: Excellent location. Convenient. Friendly staff who accommodated our requests
Cons: Hotel is good but perhaps a bit old fashioned.
Pros: Location; really close to a parking lot and to the city center. Also liked the variety in breakfast.
Experience a touch of Spain in the middle of Dutch Limburg and stay right in the bustling heart of charming Valkenburg. Unwind in the fully equipped, comfortable rooms and revel in this excellent location along the lively main street of the city. Weather permitting, you can sit on the terrace and watch the first visitors of the centre pass by. You’ll soon discover the many shops, restaurants and bars in the street and its surroundings, as you leisurely stroll around the neighbourhood. Explore the many cultural and historical sights in your direct vicinity and don’t miss highlights, such as the Castle of Valkenburg, the incredible Gemeentegrot (Municipal Caves) and the Roman Catacombs. Return to the hotel’s restaurant for a wonderful dinner and taste Spanish and Italian specialities that add to the Mediterranean temperament of the interior.
Pros: The hotel is located in a cute street full of restaurants. Room was beautiful and comfortable.
Cons: The room had a big bed which was two separated beds put together and two separated blankets. This was uncomfortable for me and my boyfriend, for we like to sleep close together. The room had a bad lighting, which was a problem only in the night before sleeping. Otherwise it was fine. You could also hear everything from the stairway, which unfortunately woke us up. The hotel has a WiFi, but it didn't work.
Pros: Friendly staff and right in the middle of town
Pros: Perfect location, very friendly staff.
Cons: all was good.
Pros: Nicely decorated room! Very spacious and clean. There is a window so my partner could smoke happily. They changed our towels every day. Its located very centrally, in the same street with all restaurants and bars.
Cons: - It is a room for a couple, but the bed is NOT a double bed. Its 2 single beds put together. What is the logic behind it?! Very uncomfortable. - Room doors do not lock by default and if you forget to lock, people can just walk inside.
Pros: I loved the location, near public transport, the town is beautiful. The property also amazing, clean and staff very friendly. Farieda was a God send and she really went the extra mile in making sure my stay was comfortable.
Cons: Only the stairs is a bit narrow
Pros: Fantastic location, couldn't get a better one. Great value for money.
Cons: No coffee making facilities in room. Everything else was great, excellent location. Liked how the staff left you to get on and enjoy your holiday. Great restaurant downstairs but service slow. Would return.
Pros: Great location of course, my room was comfortable and nice. Much more spacious than I expected. Great value for money. I'm a light sleeper, and was a bit worried it's going to be noisy. It was also not noisy at all, but rather quiet and nice!
Pros: It’s in a fabulous location within walking distance to many restaurants also this hotel has an amazing restaurant too with excellent food this was our 2nd time to La Casa
Located in Valkenburg aan de Geul, Hampshire Hotel - Voncken Valkenburg is just steps from Valkenburg Castle and 4 minutes by foot from Valkenburg Cable Car. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. This hotel has 3 meeting rooms available for events. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Superb location in this beautiful little town, within 2 minutes of restaurants and shops. Friendly staff and the room was spacious and comfortable. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Definitely go back.
Cons: Nothing not to like. If we had to be picky we never received info. re free admission to Casino and they omitted to tell us that the hotel locked its doors at 11.00pm -we had to work out how to get in ourselves. Minor issues!!
Pros: Spacious, clean room with friendly staff and a good breakfast.
Pros: The location is great and very close to all restaurants. A/C is in the room and it actually worked.
Cons: I don't understand why this hotel has good reviews for food. The breakfasts were mediocre at best. No variety at all. It was the same omelette, boiled eggs, bacon, and some sliced meat and cheese. There was also bread, jam, cereal, some yoghurt and cut fruit. But no fresh vegetables or salads at all, during all our stay. Coffee was really bad too. Food was so disappointing we wanted to go to the restaurant instead. Staff - staff would open the doors and come to our room WITHOUT knocking, WITHOUT us asking for them to come. They would just open the door, come in and ask if we had anything from the mini bar. What?! No "excuse me, is anyone here? Can we come in?", no "sorry but we were doing some checks and wondered if it was you who needed...", nothing. And that happened SEVERAL TIMES during our stay. We didn't feel like we had privacy at all, this had never happened in a hotel before. Who comes to a room without knocking?! That is very unprofessional and unacceptable.
Pros: Location was fine as directly in the heart of the small city; breakfast was nice
Cons: Extremely small rooms, bed super uncomfortable (totally soft mattress, couldn’t sleep and had backpain next morning ), you hear everything from the neighbor room. Elevator so old like from the 50ies, one must be afraid to get stuck. When entering the building in the afternoon, a strange smell (sewage?) in the entrance hall welcomed us. Bar already closed at 11pm, you don’t get even a glass of water at that time. But the real ‘highlight‘ was the head of reception, an elderly lady, who was yelling at us when we politely asked to change rooms as we couldn’t sleep on the mattress. She couldn’t help here, which can be the case, but no service staff ever treated us like this, this behavior you don’t even expect from staff in a youth hostel, offensively starting a conversation with guests with ‚what do you want from me?‘ while already raising her voice. Still shocked. 4 Stars?!? 135 Euro / Night?!? No comment. Never again.
Pros: Suite: big bath just like in the pictures, spacious suite, good breakfast,
Cons: Too much green, the decor is really outdated, while the bar is super modern, the rest is not. Needs updating on the room, green carpet and walls everywhere, orange curtains, too hot in the room
Pros: The overall impression of hotel was good. Location excellent and parking fee OK. The room was big enough for a family of 4 people.
Cons: Our room had a strong smell of sewage throughout the stay. No smell in the bathroom, but only in the main room. Interior and carpets dated in public spaces. The breakfast was quite basic.
Pros: Hello everyone. I would recommend you to think over other options to say in Valkenburg. Let me start with the positive things: - The hotel is located in the city center, 50 meters from the main street, full of restaurants; - They have their own parking lots, but you need to pay for that - something lime 11 EUR - not bad; - Super-fast check-in and check-out, everything is ready for your visit; - The cleanest bathroom I've ever seen in the hotels ever. Literally sterile; - Comfortable bed and pillows!. -Quote room. I would say - if you above 50, that is the perfect place for you.
Cons: Honestly, I was expecting something more from the Scandinavian 4 start hotel. It looks like an old-fashioned German 4 start hotel. therefore the price is not correlated with the quality. Breakfast is poor and very standard. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages... cheese, ham and generally that is all.
Pros: staff were very friendly and all spoke good english.
Cons: felt that did not get great value for money. essentially payed 190 euro's a night for a big room, which was advertised as a junior suite. no tea or cofee and the bed was two pushed together with two single quilts.not very romantic!! no problems with the staff and location was good!!
Pros: We found the hotel and personnel very positive and helpful. We will stay again at some point.
Pros: Good location in the city center. Just a hundred meter to the castle ruin and cableway, few minutes to get street with many restorants. Room was species, very comfortable and clean. Parking ability is close to the hotel (public, free at night). very helpful personal. Good ratio between price and the quality.
Cons: Not so rich breakfast. Just a few choice but price is equal (just 5 Euro or something like that).
Pros: Location to the Valkenburg shopping/restaurant areas.
Cons: The breakfast meal price was included in the room, but the breakfast itself was very short on imagination and food.
Pros: The buffet had a large array of foods. They gave our three year old a toy (rubber ducky) which she loved. The hotel was close to the Valkenburg caves. We walked easily there.
Cons: Dated furniture, non-working radio. Room-service only could offer tomato soup and french fries.
Pros: good organized, all formalities for check-in were already prepared. excellent service, kitchen and quality of food
Pros: Good central location, extremely friendly staff, everything worked, everybody was helpful and friendly.
Cons: Limited breakfast selection, it is not as close to the castle as it looks on the picture (not that this would be an advantage).
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful
Pros: The hotel staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The hotel is perfectly located in the city center with dozens of restaurants at a rocks throw away.

Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: The staff at the hotel was very nice and helpful. Excellent service.
Cons: There isn't anything that we didn't like.
Pros: Breakfast was fine but egg and bacon overcooked
Cons: Soft beds and wash basin in bedroom
Pros: Very pleasant hotel. Near to the city center and very helpful personnel. Even if I traveled for business this time, maybe I will choose it again for my vacations. Nice breakfast and availability of parking space.
Pros: We had a great stay at Huis ter Guel, staff were friendly, breakfast was good - the latte from their machine was really good! It was an ideal location for walking into town and immersing ourselves in the Valkenburg Christmas experience. We would happily stay here again.
Cons: Ensuite was a little small but perfectly OK.
Pros: The hotel was clean and we got information about the activities and sights.
Cons: The room was very small maximum 220 cm high.
