The super helpful staff and very homey feel. We also had the ability to book tickets through the front desk to the Great Wall and the train station which was very helpful. Nice centralized location and felt very authentic in a Hutong. Highly Recommended!
No subways near the hotel
The welcome was excellent, we were given an english map of Beijing and a guide of what to visit in the city and above all of how to go there from the hotel (bus, subway): it was very convenient! The English speaking Staff was always avalaible and willing to help if you had a question about Beijing. The prices of extras are reasonable (beverage and food) and both Wifi and Internet with computers are free. The location is great even though far from the subway and the design of the hotel is really nice and typical.
It was cheap and the one staff was trying to help me out about my asking. the other one? please smile. looked very angry and attitude was not good at all.

Best youth hostel we've stayed in in China. Not the best equipment (no tv or airco in bedrooms), but the place feels like home, and the staff really, really is helpful.
The staff, especially Rick, make the place. Great advice on activities and transport.
It's in a hutong, so expect the location to be basic, but having said that, it's also extremely central. Also, you can't flush loo paper!
