I would never ever stay in this hotel again. My booking was for a family room with twin bed and double bed. But twin bed was a tiny bed for a small child. When I asked to change the bed to a single standard bed, staff refused to do so. Staff were so rude to me. The reception staff did not speak English which I can't understand for 5 star hotel. TV had no international news channels at all, but only all Chinese channels.
Close to the city centre and underground station.
Breakfast options are limited and disappointing standards for a 5 stars hotel. Checking in was not accommodating/somewhat stressful for non-Mandarin speaking gusts.
This is a beautiful old fashion hotel in Beijing. Very classic.
I believe this hotel is not ready to welcome foreigners. Staff are nice, but cannot speak a word in English. Ava was the only one who could communicate a bit in English, but not very well. If I needed to speak with someone at the reception when Ava was not there, we could not communicate. They asked me once if I had a translator! Once I asked the reception what time the metro starts working in Beijing they told me at 9 am while the metro starts around 5/5:30 am. When I complained to the manager, he said because the staff do not speak English. Where were the odds?! There is a construction work going on in-front of the hotel days and nights non-stop. I could not sleep during the first two nights of my stay. During the second night after I complained they changed my room at 2:30 am. On the following day I spoke to the manager and asked him why they did not asked their neighbor to stop or call the police. He was very nervous, did not like my comment and said that they are from the government and they cannot do anything about it. I told him that they should have given me another room from the beginning, but he said they did not have any room available on the other side. I believe in situations like this they should inform ( potential) guests that they cannot guarantee to provide them with quiet rooms. This hotel is not cheap and thinking that I spend two nights there without sleeping well makes me feel bad. I complained to booking.com. They followed up on that, but the hotel told them that the construction work stopped at 10 pm which is not true otherwise why should they have changed my room at 2:30 am?
I got a twin room instead of a king bed as a single traveller.
Stained furniture. Shower doors not operating properly.
