The view from the room, breakfast and staff/owners
It was a very beautiful building with plenty on offer and in a great location, either a 3 minute taxi ride (approx £5) or a lovely walk along the river into the city centre. The beds were all very comfortable and the continental breakfast was lovely.
The whole building was extremely hot and our ensuite bathroom had very poor ventilation so it made our whole room very warm. The additional charges for cooked breakfasts seemed a bit steep...£8.50 for an English Breakfast, £6 for scrambled eggs on toast! I was also a bit disappointed that our family room did not have a four poster bed as mentioned on the website but the room was still lovely.
Very impressed with hotel location was good for bath!
The staff were really helpfull and nice and the continental breakfast is a total highlight. No point in paying extra for the cooked stuff!
Considering the beautiful setting and the perfect decor in the common areas, we found our room to be too full of bulky furniture and you could certainly spot signs of a sub-standard decorating job. Also, considering the room opened into a terrace area I would have liked to have thicker nets in the frenchdoors and frosted windows in the bathroom for privacy. As it is, you have to choose between no privacy or artificial light!
Confortable rooms and friendly staff
Friendliness and nothing too much trouble
Chef not on duty first night was disappointing.
This is a beautiful hotel. Sue and Toni made us so welcome and we did not want to leave when the week was up! We cannot recommend this lovely hotel highly enough!
Warm and homely
Breakfast was fantastic, a really wide range of good quality foods. The beds were very comfortable.
The hotel was absolutley fantastic, the staff were so welcoming and hospitable. They went out of their way to make you feel at home. We are going back hopefully in the summer.
