A stay at Hôtel Les Maréchaux places you in the heart of Auxerre, within a 10-minute walk of Church of Saint-Eusebe and Auxerre Clock Tower. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Hotel set in A large old grand house, 10 minute walk from town centre. I thought the decor was appropriate for the surroundings and pleasant (think old stately home style). Room was a good size and the bed/mattress was extremely comfortable. We also had no problems with noise from any other guests etc. The fruit with breakfast was all really really good, so I presume they are very careful where they source it from.
Cons: the retrofit AC unit in the room was loud (fine by me but my partner couldn't sleep with it on so we had to turn it off). Water pressure in the bathroom was a little bit low. Breakfast a little bit meagre but OK. No one on the front desk overnight.
Cons: The decor and size of the room.
Pros: nice location stylish decor Napoleon background history nice staff Top clean rooms
Cons: Was expecting a better breakfast Need pass code to enter the hotel after 21h No concierge No room service after 20h
Pros: Beautiful Property with enclosed Private Parking. Restaurants in walking distance from this period Hotel. This is a nice hideaway Hotel for a long weekend, you will not be disappointed. Regards John Wilde.
Pros: The location was excellent and the hotel was charming. We really appreciated the parking inside the gated grounds as we were driving a very expensive car.
Cons: We would have preferred a real shower rather than one over a bath but that's a small detail.
Pros: Great place old building with character good history staff are great
The Hotel Le Maxime, BW Signature Collection is located on the banks of the River Yonne, the Quai de la Marine, formerly known as Quai Bourbon, which start from Tournelle Bridge to Lebeuf Street. The buildings along the wharf were built during the First Empire. This large building served for many years as a salt warehouse, storing salt from the salt flats of the Franche-Comte. It was then bought by Mr. Maxime Forutne who gave the Hotel its name. The hotel is fully air conditioned and has 25 rooms and 1 suite all equipped with a private bathroom with a toilet. The rooms also have a mini-bar, flat-screen television with international channels and complimentary Wi-Fi. Our hotel also features 24 hour room service, an elevator and a private garage. For the convenience of family reunions and business events the hotel features a private room with free Wi-Fi and video projector for up to 30 people. Our hotel also has a bar and a cocktail lounge at your disposal.
Pros: We had a river view which was lovely however it was on quite a busy street which was noisy for a lot of the late evening and early morning. The staff were pleasant and helpful .
Cons: There is a garage area which is available to use behind the hotel and the charge of €12 per night which is acceptable .
Pros: The breakfast was very good
Cons: The bath and shower
Pros: Nice decoration room , comfy and clean bed , great location by the river.
Pros: Comfy beds and the view
Ideally situated for several hiking trails, this hostel is situated in Auxerre in the heart of the Burgundy region. It offers free Wi-Fi access and a library with local maps and guide books. The heated guest rooms at La Maison des Randonneurs have views of the garden. A private bathroom with shower is provided in each room. Guests also have access to a communal kitchen. Popular hiking trails in the area include the GR13 and the GR654, which forms part of the St. James’ Way. Bicycles can also be rented from La Maison des Randonneurs. Auxerre Train Station is 1.6 km from the hostel. The A6 motorway is 8 km away.
Pros: It has a very flexible arrangement for checking in, which suited my situation quite well. I arrived to Auxerre too late to catch a connecting train so I just needed a place to stay. Very pleasant and functional house.
Cons: There are no hand washing basins - to brush my teeth I had to take a shower.
Pros: Love this place! The location, the atmosphere, the spacious room with heigh ceiling.
Cons: Kitchen could be a bit cleaner. And bring your own sharp knife.
Pros: The place is situated close to the center. There is a green park in front of the hostel and the rooms are very comfortable. The staff speak english very well. It is worth for the money you pay.
Pros: very delightful surroundings and helpful staff. a whale of thx.
Pros: Great location, cheap
Cons: Cleanliness is lacking, expectations from guests - “to clean up the room and bathroom area before leaving” - a bit unrealistic. Cold room - no heating on (December), on the wall it said it had to be paid for (? I assume, it was only in French). Also, there was no one at reception at time of check out, so I just left (had a train to catch, no time to look for anyone).
8,2 Excellent (930 reviews)
See hotel page In the heart of Auxerre, Burgundy's charm gives this beautiful noble 19th residence a timeless elegance. Sylvie Ramisse, head of The Originals Boutique, Hotel Normandie, Auxerre wanted her hotel to keep its family character. While authenticity and simplicity admittedly provide charm to this 3 star, they make it comfortable and friendly above all with its warm welcome. Its 47 rooms are modern and practical. They combine originality and comfort.
Pros: Onsite parking at a very reasonable rate The room sizes and quality. The service standards of the staff, all of them Being able to enjoy a drink either down stairs at the bar or in our room... nothing was ever to much trouble
Cons: It’s not a fault at all but often we like a kettle in the room for a cuppa
Pros: Good breakfast selection, parking in garage a bonus, very conveniently located for the river quays and the main squares where the restaurants are located. Quite rooms and for those how are keen on fitness it has a fitness suite.
Cons: Rooms are a little small and the cost has crept up over the years - not such good value as had been before. On the second morning the breakfast buffet ran out of food and we had to wait for it to be refreshed.
Pros: It was clean, and the younger staff were very helpful and accommodating to our needs. We needed to ship a suitcase back to the US and they were very gracious about helping with printing the forms for us. Buffet breakfast was good. Food is available although in room service form, you can get it to eat in the lounge. This was a blessing as most local restaurants were closed during our stay. Word of caution, order your taxi early, or you wont be able to get one!
Cons: Rooms were bare bones, small, a bit shabby. Very small clothes cupboard, Towels were small, old and scratchy. For one night it would be ok, the bareness if the room, (no coffee maker!) made it less comfortable for a tourist couple like us who stayed 3 nights.
Pros: The staff is very friendly and helpful. The beds are very comfortable
Pros: Nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Easy walk to centre of town.
Cons: Close to a busy road but thats really a minor point.
Located in Moneteau, Quick Palace Auxerre Monéteau is within a 10-minute drive of Abbey of Saint-Germain and Tourism Office. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Secure parking, clean. Excellent staff
Cons: No hair dryer in room. Couldn’t separate the beds.
Pros: Basic, value for money
Cons: There was no hook on the shower head, could not attach to the wall. Only 4 towels for 2 people. No international stations ion TV, French only.
Pros: Location to ferry port and late check in time.
Cons: Room could of been warmer and there is a need for more than one pillow.
Pros: Secure enclosed parking. Inside vending machines. Ground floor room.
Cons: Having a larger bathroom so the sink could be in there and not in the bedroom. For me l found the mattress too hard, so had an uncomfortable nights sleep. Single beds too close together.
Pros: wifi/tv in room. Free secure parking.
The ibis hotel is located beside the river Yonne, 10 minutes' walk from the city center, train station and famous Abbé Deschamps stadium and a stone's throw from St Germain Abbey, St Etienne cathedral, the theater and the museums. The hotel has 50 air-con ditioned rooms, some of which enjoy an impressive view of the river Yonne and the old town. Bar and snack service available 24 hours a day. Free Wi-Fi.
Pros: Great breakfast buffet, perfect location, friendly staff
Cons: Small bathroom
Pros: Friendly staff. Decent breakfast, continental choice but sufficient. Location for centre Ville very good. Auxerre was s very pleasant surprise.
Cons: Air con in bedroom not powerful enough. Coffee at breakfast pretty insipid. Public parking space away from hotel, hotel didn’t take car the so if there was s problem they wouldn’t have known who to inform.
Pros: Fantastic setting for Auxerre and wonderful view if you have a room overlooking the river.
Pros: The location was very good, just a short walk from the town centre and with plenty of free parking nearby. Breakfast was good, varied and plentiful
Cons: The room we had was very small, barely enough room to open the door without hitting the bed, and not possible to have two large suitcases open and get into the bathroom at the same time. The air conditioning barely worked and was not up to the job of cooling the room . Would have been acceptable for a one night stay, but for the price of €88.30 for room only was not great value
Cons: We were told we had a quiet room with a view of the cathedral. Our room was very warm and the only way to cool it was by opening the windows which opened out onto a round about; therefore was not quiet and the view was far from what we had been told.
Pros: Convenience to where we needed to be.
Pros: The bed was comfortable and big. The location was perfect! Very close to the center, of supermarkets and restaurants.
Cons: They only gave us 1 towel per person (no towel for the hands/face) and we asked for a boiler to boil some water in the room for tea and coffee and they had none. To have hot hotter you had to go to the entrance and pay.
When you stay at Hôtel Du Cygne in Auxerre, you'll be in the historical district, within a 10-minute walk of Church of Saint-Eusebe and Auxerre Clock Tower. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and multilingual staff. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Although paid for, they have a private parking at the site, making it convenient if you're travelling with a car.
Cons: The establishment is rather dated and the room was tiny, crammed with furniture and without AC. The baby cot provided was creaky and on the verge of dismantling, our baby was able to twist it in any direction he wanted. Due to the lack of a kettle in the room I asked the lady at the reception for a boiled water for our baby's formula and she failed to offer us any, suggesting we should use hot tap water instead. On the day we were supposed to checkout the man at the reception abruptly refused to host our car in the paid parking of the property past the time of our checkout. We were to check-out at 11 and we requested to leave the car until 13 o'clock if possible. Despite the parking was half-empty at the time he straight refused us the favor. Definitely won't go back to this property.
Cons: Shower was grubby, heating on for a short while only, we stayed on a cold wet night and had to get an extra blanket from our car.
Pros: The hotel was on a biking distance from the city centre.
Cons: Hotel Du Cygne is old, run down and downright ugly. The location is on a very busy street and despite the fact that I had a room not on the street side I didn't sleep well because of the noise. For the rest, the room and bathroom are basic and unattractive.
Pros: The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good.
Pros: Central location
Cons: Room VERY basic Breakfast awful , inc coffee
With a stay at Hotel Campanile Auxerre - Monéteau, you'll be centrally located in Moneteau, within a 15-minute drive of Tourism Office and Auxerre Clock Tower. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, express check-in, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Perfect location. Food excellent
Pros: easy parking and close to commercial centre (shops, fuel station etc)
Cons: Service in the restaurant together with a poor choice (for me anyway) of starters and deserts
Pros: all was fine. good place for a stopover en route between Zurich and Normandy.
Cons: Nothing was untoward.
Pros: The night shift receptionist was very helpful despite not speaking English at all. Greatly appreciated.
Cons: A little bit moldy in the bathroom.
Pros: Breakfast was up to the usual Campanile standard so no complaints.
Cons: Was not impressed with the attitude of the restaurant staff. The young ladies were very impatient and not prepared to cater for any language difficulties.
A stay at Hotel restaurant Le Seignelay places you in the heart of Auxerre, steps from Theatre d'Auxerre and 5 minutes by foot from Auxerre Clock Tower. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services.
Pros: Beautiful old hotel with lots of character and interesting features in the rooms. Lovely courtyard. Friendly, helpful staff. The town is beautiful.
Cons: Bathrooms were clean but the shower cubicles were poorly fitted and flooded into the bathroom within seconds of use! Bedroom carpets were stained. One bedroom had not been well cleaned - there were sweets under the bed! Our rooms were at the front of the hotel, it was very noisy on the street (traffic and people) and also in the hotel into the early hours of the morning, and too hot to have the window closed.
Pros: Clean room, central location
Cons: We chose this hotel over nearby alternatives because it had a jacuzzi. The first thing they told us on arrival is that the jacuzzi is broken. We were led to the room, which consisted of a double bed and white walls. No desk, no wardrobe, no pictures on the wall. No charm or creativity to be found anywhere. The shower was a flimsy cabin with three walls, and the fourth side open. This made for very cautious and uncomfortable showers, as the rest of the bathroom was white wallpaper, which clearly was not supposed to get wet. It "helped" that the water pressure was very low... But the "highlight" was the toilet. I've never seen a contraption like this! The toilet flush needed electricity to work, and sounded like an airplane engine! Needs to be heard to be believed.... Using it in the middle of the night was bound to wake up the whole hotel. Add to that that the hotel walls were paper thin, and every cough could be heard. All in all a very awkward and uncomfortable experience. If this was a cheap budget hostel, it might just be ok. But as a mid-priced hotel for a couple's weekend, it was a complete failure. Will most definitely not come back.
Pros: There was a local festival on in Auxerre and we were treated to a concert hosted at the hotel when we returned to the room. It was relatively cheap - but you get what you pay for.
Cons: Parking was a bit tricky to access at first, and the staff did not answer the phone or reply to our email requesting information on where to park. The location of the hotel was not great. The room had a strange smell - musty and 'cheesy feet'. Although the bed was clean and comfortable there were only VERY basic facilities. If we had read the reviews, we probably would not have chosen this hotel.
Pros: The location
Pros: Location. Car parking.
Cons: Hotel was clean but tired and shabby, in need of updating. No kettle or water provided although they were included in facilities on booking form. Air on would have been helpful.
Pros: Quiet room in city center with bath and double bed. The internal courtyard was quiet and allowed us to have our privacy. We were able to park in a public carpark for free between 19H TO 9h next day.
Cons: Because of the narrow streets and the one way system in the old town it was tricky to find the St Pierre Carpark. Breakfast was in addition for 9 $ pp.
Pros: Secure motorcycle parking. Large room and very comfortable bed. Close to all the sights and attractions of Auxerre.
Cons: Stained carpets.
Pros: Dinner ok but no food on Sun
Cons: Booked superior room but got a very basic room without the advertised amenities. We are due a refund.
When you stay at Premiere Classe Auxerre in Moneteau, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Abbey of Saint-Germain and Tourism Office. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and microwave in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: As a stopover ideal, cheap, clean met our needs.
Pros: that bathrooms is very little and i was thinking that children's room will be together with ours .
Cons: toilet and the size of the rooms
Pros: A good place to stop en route.
Cons: There are few eating facilities, rven the vending machines had only few options; make sure you take food along yourself.
Cons: This should not be called as a hotel but Hammam instead. We did not sleep the whole night because of the high temperature. there were no air condition and even air fan system. And it seems a whole sunny day, rooms are warmed up and impossible to get back to a livable situation. Room was not clean well. Never stay again. Price may be cheap but I would better sleep at my car.
