Pros: Convenient location, awesome facilities, cosy room, nice bar on the ground floor

Pros: Good location, nice view from the heated outdoor pool, big room for 3 with a lot of light, comfortable beds, free mini bar in room, great hotel lounge area

Cons: Overall it is too pricey for the quality of service. No soundproof walls, bathroom door was not easily closing , the “shelf” for the shower gel in the shower was broken, breakfast could be improved (maybe waffles, pancakes, fresh orange juice or honey would have been great, fruit skin removed ... ), twice we had to wait for the staff at the reception (more than 5 min) as nobody was there and there was no way to contact anyone, outdoor pool was not cleaned properly (i saw the same band-aids on the side 2 days in a row) , outdoor pool is a bit small (10 pers could fit), staff was smiling but not so nice (one of the cleaning lady was a bit annoyed and impatient that we were getting water and nuts at the spa (open service) before she managed to fill in the water bottles) ,

Pros: The heated pool facing the mountains was the highlight of this resort. It is small so you have to choose the right time to go in. The breakfast was good. The seating area facing the mountains is also very cozy.

Cons: The spa area was a let down, the whole nude concept was quite unhygienic in my opinion and there was only 1 sauna and 1 steam room. Being nude in front of members of similar sex is fine but rather awkward when it’s of the opposite sex.

Pros: Very nice rooms, excellent food, stunning view.

Cons: Family suites should have brighter lighting. Reception employees should have a gong, mirror or camera to realize, when people are waiting in front of the desk.

Pros: The spa and breakfast were exquisite. The area is beautiful as well. They make amazing drinks at the bar in the lobby. And when it's cold outside, they make a fire in the lobby that is wonderful to sit by with a drink in your hand. We spent some blissful honeymoon days in this hotel.

Pros: Only 200m from the main street. We had a nice family room which was actually divided into 2 rooms which was great. The view of the Alps from the balcony of the room was spectacular.

Cons: It was CH15 each for breakfast so we went out instead, but to be honest there wasn't much choice around. We checked in another hotel and it was CH32 each!! The hotel was very quiet so it looked like they would be opening the restaurant just for us.

Pros: It was a good value.

Cons: The rooms on the road side of the hotel are very noisy. There is no way to control the room temperature so we had to open the window and then you hear a lot of the traffic and nose outside unfortunately. The bathroom is also very small, but practical.

Pros: clean and tidy rooms and bathroom. Bed a bit firm. This was not a luxury hotel, but moderately priced hotel that was safe and comfortable. Not very far from main bus station and the room had a great view. Breakfast was good.

Cons: Limited reception desk timings (seems to be the norm in this area).

Pros: The view was very nice and the staff was welcoming and warmhearted. I will definitely come back :)

Pros: Magnificient view from the brakfast room. Lots of fresh things, specially for Vegan. Franke Coffee machine is amazing. The bread and croisant is Fresh, I enquired about it, they mentioned it is from the local backery, delivered every morning.

Pros: If you are going there primarily to visit jungfrau, this is very far. Great property but would be worthwhile to evaluate what is the intent of your trip.

Pros: This hotel provides us perfect winter stays in a peaceful town. I was really satisfied with every single detail during the stay; a well cleaned room, relaxing sauna rooms, wonderful dishes, and most of all, the great hospitality of the staffs. The price was quite reasonable, considering the whole services.

Cons: Adelboden is not an easy location if one is hiking into town from Kandersteg. You arrive below town and then must hike up to the main part of town. Both the upper Main Street, bus station, and the hotel are up high. The Oey lift is also a significant walk down hill from the hotel. You can use this lift if you are hiking from Adelboden to Lenk.

Pros: Really lovely hotel in a great location, with very helpful and friendly staff. Our room, which had an amazing view of the alps, was very cozy and spotlessly clean.

Cons: The 203 room, sold as a junior suite, unfortunately has musty smell and, as a usual traveller, I would say the room did not have the standards of a junior suite. The bathroom doors (2) are not closing hermetically, noise and smell does therefore come out, privacy wise a little uncomfortable. The restaurant is a good option for half board, it is rated 13 at gaultmillau. However, since we like trying several eating experiences we decided to eat only once and “à la carte” at the hotel restaurant. Having to choose a restaurant to go out for dinner i would pick another choice; the quality is good but not as expected considering people’s ratings on booking.

Cons: The view from junior suite room with Mountain view looks a lot different than in booking.com pictures, a true bummer. I became old waiting for my coffee during the breakfast despite the reminder, I actually walked away(all grumpy because I didn't have my coffee). On the second day also had to wait long for the coffee to arrive. Tables for breakfast are assigned, we didn't get view. Not sure what is the criteria.

Pros: We stayed for two nights. The spa is definitely not too small: you’ll get access to 4 different types of sauna plus one naked one in the outside, a pool and an external one with jacuzzi function. We really enjoyed the spa to the fullest: not much people, very quite and relaxing. Breakfast is also nice, you have to order for warm food (coffee, tea, etc) and you’ll get them delivered to your table. Staff at the reception and in the restaurant were kind. If you’re planning to visit Interlaken, it’s totally worthy to drop by here!

Cons: The room was tidied up but not very clean. The second day we went out for almost three hours but our room wasn’t tidied up. We had to ask for that and had to wait in the lobby.

Pros: Greet hotel, very good reception staff with all the help personality and living who work very well, rooms are not new, but rooms all different, everyone has their own spirit, good beds, tv shower, toilet. What is most important at the bottom of the hotel is a nightclub, which is very good, one word all 10 points

Pros: Our room had a great view on the mountains. The room was basic but clean. Breakfast was good. On the base floor of the hotel, there’s a discotheque. It was opened the first night of our stay, be we didn’t hear anything of it. So, thumbs up for the acoustic isolation of the hotel :-)

Cons: The mattress on the bed was very soft. I personally prefer a harder one.

Pros: Superb location and spectacular view from our room. It is like you would not want to go anywhere else. Just looking at the Swiss Alps right in front of you is enough. Also, we are fratefull they have fulfilled our requests.

Pros: This hotel has a very nice central location with free parking. It offered a quick check-in (over the phone) and also a quick check-out at a nearby hotel, 3min walk. Breakfast was good and for a budget hotel it exceeded our expectations. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Excellent mountain view.

Pros: The staff is very friendly and welcoming. All the spa and wellness facilities are exactly as described and shown in the pictures. The restaurant offers delicious food, including a nice wine and dessert menu. We had a nice ans relaxing time. Definitely recommend it! :)

Pros: Staff is super friendly and helpful, we got upgraded to a room with an amazing view on the mountains. Pool is not very big, but the outside jacuzzi had the same beautiful view as our room, great spa area with diff. sauna's and jacuzzi. Breakfast was delicious with fresh orange juice and a some soup and sandwiches in the afternoon. Great to relax and enjoy the mountains.

Cons: Only 1 elevator for all floors, luckily there are stairs around the corner and we were only on the 1st floor.

Pros: Excellent location and food. The hotel has a personal touch, the staff is motivated and a big highlight for the hotel.

Pros: Breakfast was fine, the baths are as always lovely. The staff were all friendly and helpful as always. the location is magnificent.

Cons: The place was severely understaffed. As a result check-in took too long, breakfast nit as good as before, and in the evening when we needed an extra pillow we were told that was impossible because there were no housekeeping staff. The place has partly been redecorated but much of it is terribly in need of refurbishment.

Pros: Hotel location and swimming pool facilities are very good. But parking is a hassle as its far from the hotel. Staff are ok and its family and pet friendly. Rooms are horrible! They are OLD, small and are dying for an urgent refurbishment!

Pros: The location (it’s right at the village square and on the street to the lift) The breakfast buffet had a great variety of fresh fruits, breads, yoghurts etc. The fact that you can take a tunnel to the wellness facilities. The sauna was probably the nicest I’ve been to so far. It’s a perfect getaway for people who are searching for the combination of skiing and wellness.

Pros: Hotel (and its rooms) is charming, but old and should be renovated. Same applies to all facilities such as sauna/spa, breakfast area etc. However, its good value for the price, also the pool area is quite big with different pools (also outside and a "grotto" at 39 degrees). Regarding the spa area (it does have sauna, steam room etc): its family like, meaning small kids might run around, no one's naked, some do not even use a towel, so dont expect real spa spirit. However, for 30 bucks you can go 5 hours to the Valais Spa Area of the large building opposite (direct connect underground), and that one is really good.

Cons: The hotel should be renovated at some point.

Cons: The pictures showed the pool with an amazing backdrop of mountains but we got there to find out it's not apart of the hotel and actual cost 30chf extra to go and use the pool which we thought was crazy. We booked the hotel because of the location And the thought of relaxing in that pool and were pretty upset to learn it would cost extra. The hotel does have it's own indoor and outdoor pool but the view just isn't quite the same. Shouldn't use those photos in the booking because it's a false claim to be apart of the hotel when it isn't.

Cons: The new owners of the hotel have not invested at all in the property, and you can easily see that routine maintenance is not being carried out. The Maison Blanche/Grand Bain has had a dated appearance for many years, but previously it was always clean and well maintained. Now it begins to simply look tired and shabby The staff at the hotel try their hardest, but there are not many staff and I got the impression that they are overstretched. From what I could see, the hotel was quite empty during my stay, but nevertheless they put me in a room with a connecting door to the adjoining bedroom which was very noisy. I could literally hear every word which the couple in the room next door were saying. Surely if a hotel is quite empty, there would have been a better room available for me

Pros: Great continental breakfast with a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains. Superb indoor and outdoor pools and spa facilities.

Cons: Certain aspects of the hotel a little dated for those looking to find faults but it didn’t reduce my enjoyment at all.

Pros: In spite of our unusual group (grandmother, daughter and baby granddaughter!), we found our stay beautifully easy because of baby waggon access everywhere, in lifts, tunnels, baths, shopping, massages, meals, etc. Staff very friendly to us.

Cons: The only thing is that I booked a double room but for a single person in the main building, and as finally I was located in another building (even if it was near the main one), I had to change for a single one.

Pros: The Spa area is excellent. Especially pool outside and pond with a cold water. After check out we could stay at the spa all day. Our room was big. The kettle at the room was provided by request. Fresh orange juice at breakfast.

Cons: Breakfast could be more varied, there are no traditionally fried eggs and sausages, also we did not find fresh vegetables (cucumbers, tomatoes and lettuce).

Pros: Breakfast was good, and had a good selection. The hotel swimming pool and spa was ideal after a day on the piste, or up hiking. The room we had was really big for a ski resort, with easily enough room for 3-4.

Cons: So access to the room from the front door involved multiple elevators, stairs and corridors. It was not ideal when carrying lots of luggage. Although the room was big, the bathroom was closet-sized.

Pros: Staffs are kind and helpful. Especially thanks Franka for arranging the Gemmi trip for me. Due to the delay of the train, I had insufficient time to catch up with the last Gemmi. Franka told the driver to drive me directly from the bus stop to the Gemmi station, along with a ticket, so that I could have a round-trip journey before it closed. I appreciate her help. The view from the balcony is fantastic. I strongly advise you to try the room facing the mountains. Not to mention the great SPA surrounded by the Mother Nature. I recommend this hotel.

Cons: It would be better if steps can be built inside the outdoor SPA for sitting, just like the inside one.

Pros: This one is an absolute gem - doesn't look that impressive from the outside, but once you check in - it holds too many surprises to tell and discover during your stay! It has a great private Jacuzzi in many rooms which slides to the porch; the spa is amazing and free to use to all guests - it includes hot & wet saunas; 2 solarium rooms and a huge indoor/outdoor heated pool with jacuzzi jets as well. The food is awesome at dinner and launch time, though a bit expensive. The room was all wood and smelled great while the Alps view from its porch - was breath-taking. Hot water was in abundance at any given hour. Parking was always free and available. There is a very convenient & big lift to take you up to any floor, which size was greater than most hotel lifts. The hotel staff was accommodating above and beyond - checking us in after midnight - even though reception does not usually operate at these hours and despite that we never called to say we are checking in late.

Cons: Breakfast is very rudimentary and it was virtually impossible to get the coffee machine to produce a cappuccino; it paled in comparison to the lavishing lunch and dinner and was a great disappointment, particularly when you got used to all the other amazing features and exquisite services this hotel offers. It was not possible to communicate with the hotel over booking.com messages - my suggestion - just call them directly if you have any special requests or questions. Sound proofing is not great and you can hear muffled voices of guests in adjacent rooms.

Pros: The location with mountain views and proximity to convenience stores

Cons: The shower area in the bathroom was not separated properly so the entire bathroom would be wet. Also upon telling the staff that we were there for a special occasion, they made absolutely no extra effort to even address it in any special way. I found that extremely impersonal.

Pros: Silent area, comfortable bed, big terase with nice mountain view. Good food in local restaurant. Parking available free of charge. Overall good location with nice restaurants around.

Cons: Weak water pressure in shower, desinfectant odour in breakfast room. In reception we were told that breakfast starts at 7:30 while in reality it started in 8:00 and bacon was delivered only after 8:00 when we already finished our breakfast.

Phone was broken and despite assurances by staff that replacement phone would be acquired, our phone was never replaced in the three nights and four days we stayed at the Adler. Sink faucet turned with great difficulty and needed servicing. Fitness room is a tiny corner with three machines only. Whirlpool did not work in bath. Linoleum cracked in bathroom.

Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful at this family run hotel. The food was great and our room was large and clean. Beds were comfortable!

Cons: Our streetside room was quite noisy until about 10:30 PM. Probably this is not a problem in the winter with the windows closed. In summer, you need the windows open for cooling.

Pros: Prime position with wonderful views from room and balcony. We were fortunate to be allocated a room with a front view, which is the best aspect and would recommend stipulating this when booking. A very nice pool and wellness area in the hotel, which we used every day. A very pleasant looking hotel with nice bars and outside breakfast area for fine weather, which we had. Are considering booking 4 or 5 rooms for a family celebration in 2011.

Cons: Some visitors may find the front rooms noisy with farm traffic etc. in the quite early morning, but we thought this to be part of the charm of the place, and no problem.

Pros: The location is very convenient for cable car and station. The furniture and décor are all good, traditional country style, but not exceptional. The breakfast is varied with plenty of choice for a few days. The dinners in the evening in the dining room were always good, but not exceptional - although this did depend on what was chosen from the menu. We had a 'comfort' room that was very large and comfortable, again without being exceptional. The swimming pool is great - large enough with lovely aspect through glass screens to the mountains. All the staff we met were helpful, pleasant. We enjoyed our stay.

Cons: Some aspects of the building did not lend themselves to a cosy, boutique or luxury experience eg the dining room is in a large, high room with wonderful chandeliers, but more like a dining room than a restaurant. It's hard to see how this could change - and I recognise that in some circumstances the room would be a real asset.

Pros: Delighted to be able to stay at the Victoria for a second time. The hotel is perfectly situated at the heart of Kandersteg and ideal for everything on offer. We were given a very warm welcome and this generosity extended throughout our four day stay. The food was superb and the mini suites were absolutely ideal. In the perfect world perhaps both rooms would have faced the Blumlisalp as the road side can be a touch noisy in the evening, but this is a small matter. We had a wonderful time at the Victoria and I look forward to returning. Kandersteg is a glorious place [i first came in 1981] and remains unspoilt, which is a rare treat these days.

Pros: Very close to the train station and the center of this beautiful mountain village. Incredible breakfast. Not your average row of muesli, cheese and meat. It was huge and so varied and the dining room is just beautiful. Imagine visiting your grandmothers old farm house going down the hallway toward your bedroom with the unique and fresh smell that says "welcome home". This was that. My room had an incredible view of the mountains (sorry the photo is sideways). The hosts were so helpful and went out of their way to make my stay a great one, even gave me a tour of the three bedroom flat on the property. I already have plans to bring my family back next year and stay in the big flat on this property. Can't wait!
